    I would like to know if people like you that stopped playing few years ago, do actually know about the recent problems with gameforge?


    Missing classing problem is one of the smallest problems of all others in the recent years.


    You might have the feeling by reading recent posts, but you can't actually feel the agony on your flesh.

    I know right, indeed didn't played last content but can be only worse overtime, since i noticed that updates are just the same crap over and over. I recognized Tera only back then as a decent game, since i were a p2p player.

    Nice summary, i agree with such content, these were the golden age of the game, also pvp non instanced and everywhere were really fun, true guild wars, expecially hunting for bosses and hub small battles.
    But how much time passed since this topic was opened? Guess they do not care anymore and never did since the beginning, they just milk what's left before the game eventually close, the actual situation in europe do not help either, but hopefully a different company can take over the game and consider a separate vanilla server. Tera is now a classic game, one of the few survived for many years, it just need people and devs who really care.

    So today marks one whole year of GF "evaluating the feedback" and in return not providing ANY INFORMATION from their Team about a possible old build Server*. Not even BHS, but GF internal TERA Team which probably consists of like 1 person who spends max 1 hour per week on "TERA project".


    Thanks for always taking care of this community. Not that I'm surprised, you clearly treat TERA as a "finished project not worth investing any additional work/time" for like a few years already and are just milking what you can until you finally pull the plug off. No wonder you manage to lose your publishing license for other titles. Shame BHS is in the same league as you in this aspect.

    I can remember back in 2012/2013 how devs were communicating with their community and now? I think the end is near, i just feel like fail-forge will soon announce a shut down of eu servers honestly. I can figure this out after how they communicate with their community.

    Any news about korean TERA devs reply about this matter? Is a while since there are no news.

    I went straight to the Korean staff and Work team creator of the game and my apologies to bypass Krafton, Bluehole and the said publisher of GameForge without there consent. In there own native korean language in my inquiry on my appoinment interview about the said game Tera.


    They said... Yes they do plan to make a classic one, and to there description on the said classic Tera Game. be a characters with no buffs, and no build, no power ups, as in the word classic meaning a Arcade version. You play to the core of the pain playing. Just like a street fighter game. And ask them again as i thought i must miss heard them no they were dead serious. A massive downgrade Classic Tera to allow fast action and player to player combat. And removed open world map exploration.

    Nobody ask for an arcade beat'em up version, a completely different concept and game, also without open world? Uh? Just a pvp arena i guess?


    Give me a break... it make no sense, if this is the result then is better that they do not consider a "classic" Tera and just let this title die, and leave everything to a different developer that care and can make a true classic server hoe the fans want.


    Meh, why developers and publishers do not listen to their own playerbase?

    A pvp instanced arena is a guaranteed failure. With this topic having more than 14000 views, the hottest thread in this forum, and people interested in a classic Tera, they really waste all the interest is something this? Is their best idea? This is beyond common sense and any business logic.


    Hope they reconsider this choice, if these are their true intentions about the Tera franchise. Please update this thread with more info when available.

    KTera devs (Krafton) at least know that there is interest and a possible playerbase that prefer the classic Tera. This reply is a ray of hope for us old fans.

    What era on TERA could be considered the best patch to make this "classic server" a better choice and probably a better bussiness than the big failure that was TERA back on 2012? Obviously TERA from 2015. Tadeshi's idea of a classic server for TERA.


    All people claiming a TERA Classic server based on 2012 patches will be an huge success, you have no proof, you have no facts, and history taught us well. If back on those days people were unwillingly to support the game enought to be a bussiness in that p2p model, What makes you think people will do it now when they didnt do it in the past?

    The game arise in subs when passed from p2p to b2p, indeed the p2p model was excessive back then for a game just released and with some issues. But just after the b2p new business model and new patches the game reach the "golden age".


    I'm also fine with Tadeshi pov, as long as there are difficult bams and party content, open world guild wars, nexus and blast from the past sidekick dungeon feature, i think is the correct base concept to start the "classic" Tera. The game decline was when they arise the cap to 65 along all the crappy patches that destroy the open world content fun and party related features, imo.

    Krafton can also let another company to handle a classic server if GF do not like the idea or they do not have the resources to do it. After all vanilla Tera was a completely different game compared to the actual Tera.

    On the other hand, Lineage 2 classic, WoW classic and Runescape classic were made in the end, because the old experience is something that a lot of players prefer over new concept of modern mmorpg where everything is easy and everyone is the solo hero.

    What a silly statement, is obvious that need maintenance like a regular server, but if there is enought people who play in a classic server (like L2 classic, wow classic, etc...) then they can do it like they do with the normal one, they are the publisher and is their job to di it properly.


    And no, make it temporary is beyond any sane logic, who the hell will play on a server with a wipe? We need a perma one updated on a regular basis.

    Is so hard to underastand that old players of players who don't like the actual Tera will NEVER play the new Tera and VICEVERSA?

    Do not worry about the actual players, they will never leave their filled banks, costume, gear and talent progress to back to a old game where they need to start from scratch.


    Old playerbase is completely different from the actual playerbase, old players want a difficult game where party and guilds were mandatory, where open world was a thing, while actual players want the easy way and solo content where you can progress alone from 1 to cap.


    Is easy and simple, like new Lineage 2 vs Lineage Classic, new Wow vs WoW classic, these two playerbase have a completely different concept of the game and will never merge together.


    Hope is more clear now and i hope i do not see again these risiculous topics claiming that a classic server can split the actual playerbase.


    Moreover, 900 people voted, 900~1000 is the peak of the actual player base, even if only 500-600 people will back to play the old classic Tera, Gameforge will almost double the total amount of accounts who play Tera, so is something they should seriously consider.

    This topic have more than 6000+ views, is the most viewed topic in the whole forum, this is also another hint that there is a lot of interest cause also the lacks of new mmorpgs on the market, actual mmorpgs are so easy, boring and just a solo brawler experience that nobody play them anymore, calling actual mmo with that name is an insult of true and old mmorpgs.


    ps: My personal opinion, if GF will ever make a classic server: please listen to the players and do not add content people not want, game concept should be the one before Reaper got introduced. Add content not remove it. Remove censorship, almost a decade passed, nobody cares anymore about such a trivial thing.
    Make it B2P like GW2 with fascion cash shop only, or full P2P with the possibility to buy game time with ingame money too. Attract old players or player who stopped to play advertising the game around mmo communities. do not waste this last opportunity to make Tera great again. Be smart and make a classic Tera for a mature playerbase.

    Looking forward any update, hope we can have a positive reply both from you and BH or Krafton (or how they are called now).

    For me I can consider playing on classic server only with these two conditions:
    - Game will be fully uncensored. (What was the point censoring gear when swimsuits released few months later revealed more skin than gear itself?)
    - End game content won't be boring as hell. (Guard missions are good example how to make game little more fun or adding more interesting ways how to progress gear.)


    I'm sure these conditions will never be fulfilled same as I'm almost sure classic server will never be a thing (unless they find out how to milk players). Game already making small profit so there are no much resources to make any changes for classic version. And release old unchanged buggy and boring version is unwise in my opinion considering the history. There is nothing more I can say and this is my last post in this topic.

    I can agree with your conditions (i'm 100% against censorship as you can see from my signature and avatar), the game need to be maintaned indeed, however i don't agree about that the old Tera was borging, yes end game was boring at beginning, when the game was just released, but they fixed it some months later with new content and fixes. I said so as a founder pay to play player, so i was there 9 years ago.

    Now what people talking about in the actual game vs old done, the new one is a completely different game, easy, filled with grind and farm, repetitive, stagnating, but worst thing is, they do not keep the old content, like for example in GW2 where you can back to play the old content without new abilities and "masteries" (that aren't mandatory), they completely erase the old content and change the base core of the game, removing open world content, watering down the difficulty, killing guild wars and pvp, etc...


    Other mmorpg never removed old content, they only add new content for new maps, separating old stuff and new, while in Tera they change, removing and watering down old content.

    In the mmorps i mentioned above where they completely change the game, like in Lineage 2 and wow, they succesfull relaunch the classic server and patch it from there but keep the base core, as the playerbase demand.


    There is demand for a classic server, this topic surpass 4000+ views, you can't reach such milestone with the only actual player base. Actual playerbase is tiny because the game is not interesing anymore, so do not be negative but happy if they consider a classic server and spread the voice around mmo communities to lure in more people.

    Indeed, i still think that there is a lot of interest at the moment since there is nothinf new on the market, or better, the mmorpg market id dead, you do not need to trust me but numbers and stats, the normal server have a very low population since lots of older players didn't like where the game is heading and because is pretty stagnating and redundant.

    Even if there are 2 servers, a normal and a classic with the same population is anyway a success for GF, is almost double the income. GF should seriosuly consider to support a classic perma server with a possible GW2 support model (buy to play with cosmetic item shop) before the interest will vanish forever.

    Other older mmorpg classic server are today still succesfull because, again, there is nothing new to play and the best mmorpg are of course the ones from the past.

    The real question is... Will GameForge make enought profits from a Classic server?


    This is a serious question because over the past years I have know several "pirate" servers who offer/ed what you would call Classic TERA. Max level 60 with open world pvp and pk of lowbies. Guess what? In these years they just keep shuting down because of they cant reach the donation cuota to keep their servers up. What do you expect a company like GF will do looking at that?

    Didn't do much pvp back then, for open world content i do not mean only this, but harder BAMS, guild wars, Nexus, etc... pvp is just an extra that create more a living world.


    Regarding classic, i think so, Lineage 2, Wow, Runescape, Everquest 2, etc... all have official classic servers and they are still a thing, because normal and classics are two different games, so they will have 2 different playerbases.

    This thread have more than 3000+ viewers (the other one more than 5000+), so i think there is enought interest, at least on par if not more than the normal one. There is demand for a classic servers, expecially for a old game like Tera that changed so much from the first version.

    Says the one that played this game for a month and than left. Just to come back multiple times and play a few days to just leave the game again. You are a casual.

    I compared to you played from the beginning and never left till today.

    I'm a founder player since the game was p2p and play for over a year straight. But not here at GF, at En Masse, then i switch here in 2013. Infact i have 2 accounts and both are founders.


    I leave the game in 2014-2015 after the f2p and the boring direction of the game. Never like new content, because they remove Nexus and all open world stuff, boosting grinding and farming in dungeons. Liked however the blast from the past downscaling feature.


    Tera was a good game because is was a open world mmorpg, now is just an instanced brawler.


    This is my case, i will never play actual Tera anymore, this is a fact, will back only for a classic server, but do not expect either other old players to play this iteration. We only back for a VM1 or max VM2 Tera because is the Tera we loved.
