I already seen a bunch of people running on Essenia with those items; seems like glasses are most popular ![]()

Hah! In regards to this I remember what Dstuff said nearly one year (or was it even more?) ago. At that time I was also aware that TERA is slowly moving in this direction. Seems like our korean masochist mmorpg player dreams have finally come true...

You haven't paid for them - it's an addition, a present. They will give them out when they will decide to do so, not that we all are happy about it.
The point is, we're discussing 15v15 cross-server battlegrounds. Honestly - who will cares about other guilds from other servers? For when it comes to bg's, I want to fight the guilds I know, those guilds that somehow matter to me in one way or another, not a bunch of random people. A cross-server battleground could be an interesting addition to the rest of basic bg options, but they can't make it the main one, nullifying the rest.
Quote from LionnaAll we got is a bad implemented PvP System for the western market. There is ZERO Content for PvP and stuff that actually force people to pvp is not working or BH added peacezones for nexus battlegrounds (such a joke). You thought people gonna fight months for some useless bams with crappy drops?
All you see in TERA is peacezone hopping, people ganking with full grps in solo areas or pre-made mass pvps without any reason (oh wait ... lets finish the war before it ends in XX hours lol).
That's the truth and it's all because of the bad PvP implementation ON PvP servers. It just shows that EnM didn't put enough work into it, or they didn't care at all (which I'm more eager to bet on)... since no one seems to care about all of that community input and support that has been given on both forums; nothing virtually changed from the times when PvP was first implemented.
After all, this game was meant to be a money-making machine for EnM in the first place *bellylaughs*

I would like to write something constructive, but oh well... I think a single picture will describe this "update" much more better:

Now, jokes aside... I wonder - where are all the various issue and bug fixes that the community was begging for the past few months? Were are all those small changes we were patiently have been asking for all that time? don't get me wrong - I have nothing against that, but as far as I see only corporate marketing bulls**t and nothing mroe except that, I'm starting to become more and more doubtful about European TERA's future.
-
It was a very good decision, and just as you sai Malki - one busy server is always better than a bunch of low populated ones. Seeing as this game is a niche mmorpg here, a bunch of servers at the start could even have a negative impact, both on the game and it's community. Honestly speaking, I'm not going entirely dvelve into why Frogster decided to put so much effort into translating this game into different languages, thus preparing the game for those countries' markets, but I highly doubt their servers will become overpopulated. Personally, I would rather focus the time and assets to make a more perfect and detailed english translation and run another pair of english servers, instead of creating language/country-oriented servers. In a longer run this will just cripple the community, which in fact is already international; english nowadays is a must. I highly doubt those countries (France and Germany) also have markets large enough for Tera to make profit out of it in this form; at most they will be barely profitable.
I'm almost sure, that at one point in the nearest future they will have to merge those servers anyway. I feel that the EU/US Tera will be profitable and do decently, but it won't be anything special. A niche game is a niche game, after all.

Were you on your horse when shopping ?
No, I wasn't. Have you experienced something similiar? It might be that the bug lies somewhere in that or different player flags. I think I was an outlaw by that time, as far as I remember correctly.

That's the one more reason why the teleport function should be simply removed.
-
I don't care about the cooldowns, as far as they will remove teleport function and finally force lazy people to actually go through the world to met with the rest of their team. Having "no tiem to play the game" as an excuse for the teleport function to exist is plain lame, since with such logics you won't have enough time to play the game anyway.
Party match making tool might not be bad - it might be useful, but it shouldn't give instant gratification to people. Instant world teleporting is one of them as well.

Quote from Gepard
Isn't it result of automatic detail adjustment (reduction)? forgot what it's called in game options. Things start to shine when shadow details reduce.
Nope. I have everything maxed out and game work perfectly on older builds. There were no problems with automatic view distance reduction for enviromental details, as far as I didn't had nything like that at all. Now, some of the objects just seem to pop-up just a few meters before my character (tress, fences, some of the details on larger meshes - houses, buildings etc.). You can clearly see where the "draw" line is placed. It all happens just after a while. I had a similiar problem earlier, but only with texture sizes. It seems they could add draw distance to this as a form of optimization, but I'm not 100% sure. I might have not enough RAM as well; I will most propably have to find it out myself by getting another chip and testing it out after that.
Quote from GepardBlue != unavailable. It means that you won't be able to use them now (like lv11 bandages at lv6).
No, you propably got me wrong. What I meant is that you are able to buy and use them normally. It's just that they are all marked as unavailable items, while they shouldn't

Frogster team is compromised of a small number of people, who have to work equally on few language versions of the game. You have to be more patient.
It's not like the end of world, just because you can't play the game right now. We are here to test it. I'm actually glad they picked it up so fast and are working on the bugs RIGHT NOW, instead of waiting past the OBT.
I have a good suggestion - instead of whining on the forums and ingame, it would be good just to report every slightest possible bug, create a single proper compilation thread in the feedback forums and let people report all the bugs there.
The current few most notorious bugs I stumbled upon:
- The chat bug, which causes it to lose/delete large portions of logs while you load locations/change channels/etc.
- The shader bug, which causes some unusual elements and meshes ingame to shine with bright light (most notoriously the outside encampments' fences and bonefires)
- Instances not working (might be possibly connected with the new dungeon finding system and changes to the storyline/flags on npcs)
- A strange bug that drastically reduces view distance of most of the meshes and world elements/enviromental details (such as fences trees, large objects - houses, villages etc.) below the average (even if maxed out in options) on older machines when their memory gets overflown (might be connected to the old "memory leak" bug and some of new optimization changes made to the engine in the newest game updates). It didin't happen on older game builds.
- Some of the most basic items sold at npc's are viewed as unavailable/unsellable (blued-out) items and usables, but you can still buy them (and should be able to)
- A buggy (not working) health bar, that appears above your head after you become an outlaw and die/get killed by others
I'm simply writing those here for the information.

There are no "child", nor "adult" elin. Elin are elin.
Normal elin marriage all the way!
Good question though, even if a little bit offtopic - does anyone know anything about that potential marriage system? Have there been any discussions in meantime? Since it was a lnog time ago, when anyone came up with that particular thing.
-
Hahah, Zangatsu - I haven't seen these yet, and I almost feel from the chair laughing. There should be a mahō shōjo skill reserved for the end content, that would enable elin to become grown ups with awesome skills!

-
Excited?
Anyway, speak for yourself ;p I like dem lolis.
They should make them right from the start for us, but honestly - it's april fools, stop living the dream. I can copy-paste/morph/redraw some stuff as well, it will take several minutes. Have some respect for original artist's designs, and if it's such a big problem - then don't play the game. There are few other good HQ mmorpg's coming, and you have a lot of different, nice looking races to chose from. I wouldn't be playing Tera in the first place, if I don't like korean/far eastern mmorpg's.

Hmm IceD. To me it looks like they took the high elf female mystic (dress and lenght/shape/build all fit) changed the front of the dress. Removed the elf head and replace it with one of the elin models and add the tail. As a character designer myself for an april fools joke that's how i'd do it. This is actually really easy to do in the 3d modelling software since most is saved in groups so it's just copy paste/import and refit it. Then after you got the size right. Rigg the character in the position you want and render it. That's it.. done (5mins work)
Yeah, that's just what I thought. As far as I can see, that these grow-up elin and amapori are rather 3d renders, balanka seems to be a drawing. That's why I became cerious. Eitherway, they already stated officialy they're planning a few surprises soon. We'll see what they had in mind

-
I was simply amused when I saw that info for the first time.
I have to admit those grown-up elin designs look nice (and hot), but I like the original elin a lot more. I only wonder if BHS made this as a part of April Fools joke, or if they actually did use some of their early designs... Could someone take a closer look at that?
Anyway, lawl. Those news made my day.

There was a patch available for this CBT. Either you already downloaded it, or it's unavailable currently and you'll be able to download it tommorow. I didn't checked that out, since I already got it through those secret nightly tests earlier this week

It's a small one though, so there's no need to fret.

Nice to know that. Thanks.

Anna, I would be very grateful for response, since there's a bunch of questions I'd like to ask:
QuoteChannels will now be added or removed based on the population.
Does that mean, that the total channel number will be based on the original quota, but will it adjust automatically (by that, I mean, reduce), when there is a much more smaller population in the area? Or did you only meant, that you will begin adjusting the area channel numbers from now on?QuoteBased on the latest feedback, the PvP server settings were modified. You’ll now earn Infamy Points whenever you kill players with a difference of 6+ levels. The distribution is as following:
# Same level up to 5 levels difference – 0 points[...]
Does it mean, that the players will become marked as "red" outlaws only when they will kill someone of a much lower level? Does it mean, that from now on we will still have to declare the outlaw status, but we will remain white, untill we really do some kind of nasty stuff that deserves being kicked in ass?
Anyway, I'm fine with that... Though I have to point out, that the current infamy point system values are kind of absurd. 60 and 120 points earned for killing low level players? 1 point = 5 minute time and 1 point for one killed mob penalty reduction is a bit too harsh from my perspective. It might discourage plenty of people from PvP, since there is no way to make a clear distinction between various players, and I don't want to "Inspect" them every single time when I'll want to fight with someone. Those numbers should be fine-tuned to lower ammounts, and the overall penalty reduction by time should be equal to 1 point per one minute. Do note, that with such values it will still give PK'ers almost two hours for killing two players that aren't that much of a difference in character progression... and most importantly - wrong values might easily open a gate for normal community to exploit PvP and abuse player killers in various ways. I hope this will be taken in consideration.
Thanks in advance.

Good luck with your maintenance, hope it goes smoothly!

Yeah, don't blow the servers up!

-
Aww guys, now you're teasing us!

I have a question though. I'd like to finally see how PvP servers work. Is there currently a possiblity for one server to be PvP, and the other for PvE?
Other than that, it's going to be a wonderful weekend!
