    I have a word of advice - stay on your server. Don't move to the new one, cause it won't change a thing, unless you want to start completely from scratch and leave Killian behind. Moving through servers right now will only increase chaos during the F2P start.

    You propably haven't played mmorpg's going F2P. TERA will definately become overcrowded once F2P kicks in and it will be similiar (or even bigger) to what we used to have at the official start. As for the rest of changes besides adding new server - you're joking, right? It's propably the best and most meaningful change they're going to introduce in a long while.


    • Server types are finally going to be completely separated, as they should. No more awful PvP-PvE IM/BG mix-ups, with two different kinds of players being almost completely unable to play together.
    • Less server links will mean less excessive server load (which might be one of the issues causing the infamous lag spikes of death).
    • Easier maintenance, for f*ck's sake.


    Don't forget, this isn't for now; It's reserved for the near future. There is still a chance we might get a third PvP server, if F2P start will exceed expectations (which might happen with TERA, at least during the few next months after it). It's a good move GF at least once thinks way ahead, and I still remember the retail start.

    What will happen when 3v3 rolls around? My group will have ZERO COMPETITION. We have 100% chance of easily being better than 60% of the groups on Killian in the first place, let alone these PvE servers. All that is going to happen is that we're going to smash everyone here and there'll be immense QQ over imbalance. All we ask is for the chance to compete against the best, and all GameForge seems to be doing is ensuring that this will never happen.

    Just wait a while, you'll find new competition soon... unless you think you'll find such between the PvE crowd? HUEHUEHUE

    The F2P "unlimited trial" accounts are subject to numerous restricitons. So yes - you won't be ever able to use global chat, if you're an unlimited trial account user. As for the normal users, just as Raven wrote - everyone is restricted from using the global chat, as long as his level is under 15. The global chat restriction is revoked once you reach at least level 15. The change was made because of the rise of the ammount of unlimited trial account players to prevent massive global chat abuse and spamming.


    I hope this clears everything out.

    I see Fraenir already wrote about those issues. I guess the BAM nerf and the KR updates are one of the most important questions. Will they happen here as well, or will you prevent the last final OW incentive from hitting rock bottom hard?


    I'd like to ask another thing as well - Would it be possible for the disabled veteran accounts to get at least access to the account directly ingame along with character selection screen? It would be really appreciated to have the possibility to at least check out if everything is fine and reserve the names; I'm writing this, cause it seems to be a little bit unfair compared to newcomers with unlimited trial accounts, who can already do all of that + play the game, while the old players can't do anything except to be forced to buy the subscription, even though they were your paying customers and deserve at least that little bit of support. I'd buy the subscription, but I think it's a bit too much for the sake of few simple operations.

    It should work, though you can expect a lot of various issues, ranging from random game lock-ups and crashes to texture quality degradation ingame, on the fly. TERA certainly needs at least 4GB's to work fine and 8GB's can be treated as the recommended ammount.


    Game is completely unstable on 32bit systems in terms of memory managment. It's highly advised to get 4GB's and activate the LAA (large address aware) switch to ensure optimum performance.

    • When can we expect an european server merge?
    • Does BHS have any plans to introduce more open world incentives in the future and fix broken game design elements (outlaw & owpvp, vanarchy & gvg's, guild importance & politics), instead of trying to please us with more geargrind content toppled onto dungeons?
    • How much power in terms of game redesigning does Gameforge possess? Is it even possible for european players to form any sort of public support letter to forward the most reasonable ideas on how to improve the game for us, and will it even have a chance to reach the game's creators? [Honest response, please. No, really.]


    That's all I'd like to ask for now.

    After some ticket exchange with support yesterday, I received my items this morning. Everything's fine. The response was immediate. In my opinion their support service is good and people are very nice and communicative; to bad it usually goes down to them having to cope with such serious issues and furious people.


    The good thing is, that I got my eyepatch! :D

    It's much more better to just fill a form and wait for their response. Live chat should be used only for issues that need immediate help because they are hindering your gameplay.


    Speaking of which, I just sent one as well. Lets see how fast it will be resolved.

  • The evolution of politics in TERA


    Actually, It's much more easier to avoid any exploiting in this case. All of characters are tied to a single account. The easiest thing that can be done here is restricting those possibilities for players, as in (for example): 1. Only one guild that was made on each account can be eglible for voting at one time (in other words - you can't place more than one guild for vanarchy from your account). 2. All of the players entering a Vanarch GvG can't leave their corresponding guild during that time. 3. Players that have joined (or are in) a guild which is currently in a Vanarch GvG can't use their other guilds as means to farm points because they won't be counted (system checks whether the player is a member/guildleader of any other guild; if he is, that guild of his/her won't be counted as a ''foe'' towards the main guild and no points will be gained from killing members of this guild; an appropriate message will be displayed in the chat to inform about that).


    Such system should suffice to eliminate most of the easiest exploit possibilities in exchange for limited freedom for the players of the guilds engaged in Vanarch GvG. The rest is quite simple - 3k gold and catharnach awards eliminate most of the smaller attempts to exploit, since it's costly and might be not worth for most of the smaller guilds. Players of the biggest guilds will have a slightly limited possibilities, but let's put it straight - if someone is engaging in a Vanarch GvG, he/she should be focused on it, instead of doing some antics with alt guilds, right?


    What worries me the most is it seems that EnM haven't thought about those kinds of issues beforehand. They still have the time to fix it - I want to see it fixed ASAP. I don't want another half-baked ingame content that's prone to exploitation in such a simple manner.


    Haven't read the news. I think it's an excellent idea that will add a lot of freshness to the western TERA, though it still needs a lot of redesigning, especially to clear it out of any means for easy exploiting.

    As long as they are still working on it, it's fine. It's only a free bunch of vanity items, plenty will have as well anyway - there's nothing original in wearing them anymore, besides personally having a cool looking character :P
