Edit: I've gotten it work. I had to kill five or so other Dracoloths and immediately interact with the main one to progress the quest.

Everything has gone good up to this point, so that's mainly why I'm reaching out now. Whenever I move forward to interact with the Elite Black Dracoloth, it does nothing and has a damaging aura around it if I move too close. Interacting does nothing, the quest item that I was supposed to use is gone from my inventory and I've tried killing myself to restart the area, re-logging and just closing the game out entirely. Every other Dracoloth in the area works fine and doesn't have a damaging aura around them.
