Yes, after that i can write the name. Then click to OK and then i see the first picture.

On that screenshot you posted is clearly written: You can't use that name.

It means that name is taken and you need write new one. If new name is also taken, window persist until you wrote name that is not taken. It's not good idea write random names because name is changed immediately (and free change name option gone) without any additional message or window.

You have only old lvl 60 character. If you don't have any premium costume/item on that character, better option for you is delete that character (24h waiting time if character is lvl 40 or higher) and make new one with name you want and is available. (If you have some valuable items or gold on that character, just use bank to save them. Items and gold in inventory will be deleted with character.)

Reaching lvl 60 takes around 10h and with active level up event right now even less. When you reach max level until event end, you get free costume, mount and plenty of valuable items for your character progress.

Many ppl forgot why was Tera considered as a fail from the beginning:

    - Korean server lost half of the population in less than 6 months. (Even before game was released in the west.)
    - Devs and publishers was forced to go from monthly subscription to F2P 6 months after western version was released. (Reason was obvious.)

    - Majority of western reviews gave mediocre score with same reasons - inovative combat system in MMO genre, nice visuals but boring content with repetitive quests.

    - Censorship not helped bring more players.

    - Bad marketing (mainly in Korea) not helped bring more players also.

    And now what ppl want:
    - Classic server with any paying model without P2W/P2Progress bs or no gear progression in general. (Only opinion that is widely different is which version use as start point. I agree with opinion that best version as a start point is right after lvl 65 expansion was released. I'm not sure if it can be still considered as a classic, but it was relatively good time for both pvp and pve I think.)

    Can you see the problem?

    - Tera content was boring and repetitive from the beginning. That is the main reason, why game lost half of the playerbase in short period of time. Returning to this time will change nothing, only prolong inevitable.

    - Asking for no P2W/P2Progress or no gear progress is same as asking company not to make profit. Yes there was some sort of transitional period when game went from P2P to F2P model (game was in similar state that ppl asking), but only because devs didn't have enough time to figured out how to properly monetize new model. Later the monetization hell started anyway. So I'm sure the classic server won't be released until BHS figure out how to heavily monetize that server even with small playerbase. Don't be surprised when things will be different than you asked.

    - And P2P/B2P model failed even when game was new. Now when playerbase is much smaller, using these payment models will be death wish for server.

For me I can consider playing on classic server only with these two conditions:
    - Game will be fully uncensored. (What was the point censoring gear when swimsuits released few months later revealed more skin than gear itself?)
    - End game content won't be boring as hell. (Guard missions are good example how to make game little more fun or adding more interesting ways how to progress gear.)

I'm sure these conditions will never be fulfilled same as I'm almost sure classic server will never be a thing (unless they find out how to milk players). Game already making small profit so there are no much resources to make any changes for classic version. And release old unchanged buggy and boring version is unwise in my opinion considering the history. There is nothing more I can say and this is my last post in this topic.

I am also lowkey amazed at people who come here and boldly say "I quit back in 2014/5/x" and talk as if they know what benefits or disadvantages later patches had, including QoL, gearing, game mechanic, class-balancing-wise and so on.

FYI yes I quit in 2014 but always returned back for few weeks when new classes was released. And I'm playing Tera last few weeks just to see what is changed. So I have decent picture about that.

Many ppl don't realize that there is always two sides of one coin. On one side players who want fun and on other side company that want profit. And many times these two things don't go well together (mainly in game industry nowadays and mainly for MMO games and greedy korean devs). Fun doesn't make profit for company but p2w mech, grinding, gear progression do.

My point is many ppl asking for classic server with no gear progression, no grinding, just pure fun PvP with no updates. Yes, and how this make profit for company? Or you think they will be happy just release classic server without any profit or monetization in mind? (B2P is not solution. It failed when game was released and it will fail again. Same model failed in many other MMO games.)

And blaming PvE players for dead PvP. How classy. Yes, there was few crybabies who wanted PvP be dead but majority of PvE players really don't care. PvP is dead and BHS don't care becase it wasn't profitable. I'm sure they not figured out how to monetized or make good profit from that part of game and just let PvP die. (Squeezing out money from PvE players is more profitable thanks to gear progression. xD)

Don't get me wrong. I don't care if there will be classic server or not. I'm just giving my opinion based from my previous experiences. If they release classic server, good for you (and everyone who want this), but don't be surprised when some things in that version will be different than you expected.

I'm sure my opinion will be hated but I don't see Tera Classic as good thing. There are some serious questions that need honest answers to better understand reasons, why company is not eager to release classic server.

How many players will return? How many players will stay longer than one month? How many ppl are willing to slowly progress all characters/classes again? How many ppl are willing to pay for all old content that already did few years ago?

It's true that in short run, there will be many old players in the begining. But many ppl will leave for the same reason that they left between 2012-2014. I started with this game when became F2P (february 2013) and stopped somewhere in mid 2014. There was already complains about pvp and other things that forced ppl leave. So what will be different this time?

Only fun part for me in this game is leveling. It was huge fun few years ago and it's still decent fun nowadays (but extremely fast and short for my taste). I made all classes, leveled them to max and then left, because end game was boring and there wasn't much to do mainly for PvE players. Nowadays it's almost the same, maybe slightly less boring because of pointless fishing and guard missions (only fun addition to this game). So how many PvE players will be willing to play same PvE content, same story and boring end game content again?

I understand that majority of pll who want classic server are old PvP players. It's true that PvP is almost dead and asking for better PvP is fair. It's also true that classic server can bring PvP to the point, when it was fun. But if classic server won't be lucrative or interesting for PvE players (e.g. basic classes only or reason I mentioned above), I doubt that PvP players can uphold population for that server alone.

I don't know what is best solution, but I don't think classic server is right way. I agree with opinion that changing and fixing actual version is better way. (But it never happen because population is already very low.)

There never should be gear progression based on pure luck.

Looks at BnS. Yes, it take little more time to collect all materials for new stage but it's guaranteed. There is no fail and no downgrade. Even end game accessories are guaranteed after certain period of time. (When new dungeon is released, there is new accessory with horrible droprate, but after 100 runs, you unlock achievement that allows you to buy that accessory from merchant with tokens that you get from the same dungeon.) This is the reason why there is no complains about gear progression in their forum. It takes time to collect materials, but that spent time is awarded with new stage on your gear. (Compare to Tera where spent time and collected materials are awarded with fails and downgrades.)

And second thing in BnS is something like consecutive grinding. First gear you get after reaching max level is easy to progress up to max stage. Also getting new tier of gear is relatively easy, but progressing that gear is more harder with more grinding and next tier is more harder, etc. So new players are not slapped in the face with huge grinding right after reaching max level like in Tera, but grinding is added slowly tier after tier. This is why new players are more willingly to stay in BnS and continue to progress/enjoy the game.

For me, the only fun part in Tera is leveling characters 1-65/70. After reaching max level there is no motivation do anything in game maybe except guard missions for gold. And with that gold I'm buying cosmetic items and that's all.

BnS is good example how gear progress should work. Tera devs don't need to do exact copy, just remove pure luck/rng bs from gear progression (fails and downgrades) and add more materials for every stage. It takes more time to progress from stage to stage, but at least that progress will be quaranteed. With these changes I'm sure many old players will return and new players will not leave right after they reach max level.

As a new/returned (after few years) player, I starting to understand grinding factor in this game. But after last patch, it's whole new level. Only good part is free Kaia gear. But upgrade that will be pain and I'm already considering leave this game again and for good.

I disagree with you on this, there are actually a lot of ways to farm feedstock(improved) just read the description of the item and where it drops.

Just for fun, I played again on my gunner on Mystel and before the patch my ilv was 481...

With new character I only have ilvl 464.4 with that free Kaia gear and there is not many ways to farm feedstock (at least with no decend droprate).

Ace Dungeons aka Trials - I did 6 runs (daily limit) on all my 4 (lvl68) characters last two days (48 runs total) and didn't get any feedstock.

Monsters in Exodor - no drop so far.
Monsters in Verrak Fortress - nope. still waiting for any drop.
Gossamer Vault, Ruinous Manor - because of ilvl 464 (and maybe lvl 68) only Gossamer Vault is available for me. The truth is I didn't try that dungeon so far, but I'm sure feedstock is not guaranteed.

Echoes of Aranea - this is only source I got some feedstock. 5x weapon and 1x armor feedstock after 48 runs.

...it is significantly easier to upgrade...

On Ninja I was lucky and got +2 weapon with 2 feedstock.

But on Gunner everything failed (3 weapon and 1 armor feedstock) on +0 stage.

If this is significantly easier to upgrade then I wonder how difficult it was before.

It's really hard to see any reason or motivation to progress my gear. Not only it's hard to get feedstock mainly for fresh out of story players, but every attempt can fail and downgrade. For me personally, this is huge waste of time. So I fully agree with OP. There should be better options for new players.

    I agree with these suggestions:
    1. Remove downgrade on gears. (It's funny how new gear don't have downgrade but gear given to new players have. Nice middle finger for new players.)
    2. Better droprate for feedstock or make at least one solo dungeon when drop is guaranteed.

    3. More sources like fishing - exchangeable for angler tokens or winning ticket.

I'm sure this was asked many times but unbind scroll for costumes.

    Maybe two versions?

First, which unbind costume for sale via trade broker.

Second, cheaper one, which give option to bind on another character. (For players who don't want profit from costume just want use it to another character.)

But any unbind scroll will be fine.

Check at the broker for an item called Premium Trade Coupon (tradeable event item). We used it to unbind extra rare costumes and costumes that don't exist at the shop anymore. Thus, its price may be extra expensive, if you find any.

Almost 6 mil. lol. With that amount I can buy several nice costumes from broker.

Description on that item is also hilarious.

Is really so hard to make some unbind scroll? For example: Click on scroll, new window popup, insert item, click unbind, done. Even lazy and greedy devs as NCSoft made something similar in Blade and Soul. With shop item (cost around 2 euros) I can send costume to another char. I'm surprised and disapointed that after 8 years, this is still not a thing.

I'm returning player and I have some old classes/characters (Sorcerer, Lancer - created in 2013) that I don't want to play anymore. Their playstyle is not fun for me and I want delete them to make spot and try another classes. The problem is, both classes have one costume, that I want save and use for new characters/classes.

Is there any way to unbound the costumes from Tera Shop?

Will be costume automaticaly unbound when I delete the character or will stay binded to non-existent character?

I'm returning player. Last I played Tera 4 years ago and now I'm giving game another try. I wanted to see what was changed and I can say a lot. Some changes are good and some not very good. But to the point.

I created a new character (currently trying all classes to decide which one suits for me) and wanted to buy cute costume. And from this moment problems started.

    1. Tera Shop

    a. Shop window is extremely small.
I'm playing with 4K resolution and I can barely see/read text mainly in items description. It would be nice to make that window bigger (include text) for players with high resolution setup.

    b. Tera Shop don't have costume preview.

There is only icon that represent that costume and that is all. I can't see how costume look on my character directly in Tera Shop. Yes, there is dressing room but that brings another problem.

    c. Some costume names in dressing room are different from Tera Shop or not included at all.
For example Epic Swimwear in Shop. There is no list of costumes contained in that box and icons have some names but dressing room show me zero results when I'm using that names in search. Some costumes I found later in dressing room, but there should be more info about costumes for some boxes in Tera Shop. Or at least same names in dressing room and Tera Shop, so players can find specific costumes easier.

    d. Description text in some costume items is misleading.

For example Epic Swimwear: Choose one of six stylish outfits for the beach. With this description I thought I can choose one of six costume. Not that game choose for me randomly. It would be nice change that text in description so new players know that it is random and will be less angry and surprised like me when I got random costume that I didn't want.

    2. Trade Broker

So I decided sell that costume via Trade Broker and then buy costume that I want. I didn't expected to be so much pain.

    a. Earnest money/tax should be applied after item is sold not before.

I played many mmo games and this thing surprised me the most. Usually tax is applied after item is sold from selling price. Here in Tera tax is applied before. So I'm loosing large amount of money just to trying sell one costume and so far without luck. Even with lowest price for that type of costume nobody buying that. Is population in this game so low, that selling something is already huge problem? Another reason change taxation for trade broker. (Yes 4 years ago when I left the game there was same tax, but selling costumes wasn't problem like now.)

These are just small things I notice during first days playing Tera.
