Request to disable non-standard, stat-affecting consumables from affecting Leaderboard ranking.

    - PvE Leaderboard is one competitive aspect of the game which motivates old player and new players to party together and attempt to rank, as well as study and research the game to maximize group synergy and therefore minimize clear times in select Leaderboard-designated instances.

Reasons to disable select stat-affecting consumables and enable select others :

    - Allowing consumables that are not available to all players is limiting the playerbase from participating in a competitive aspect of the game. this has an domino effect of diminishing the endgame playerbase. for instance, the end goal for upgrading gear and leveling up is for the players to clear instances. once players have upgraded enough clear end game content, it is most natural to try and complete the content faster and therefore upgade to the gear's end, which is innately competitive.

    - However when players became satisfied with their current status and ability to clear content, there is no reason to upgrade any further. this in other words means there is no reason to play the game. competition adds that external motivation to upgrade and maximize gear efficiency to stay competitive against other players or other groups of players. Leaderboard makes this transparent.

    - Consumables that are not available to all players gives a competitive edge to select players only, making them dominant over others artifically. and since Leaderboard displays the clear times of instances, this creates a gap between those who have the limited consumables and those who don't. this is especially true when select consumables are blocked behind a pay-wall.

    - Standard consumables are obtainable through in-game means. this means that players can spend time in-game, via farming aspects such as hunting monsters, completing quests (Vanguard Requests), etc. -- purchasing consumables from credits obtained from the said routes is considered as well.

    - Standard food consumables are obtainable via crafting through the Cooking profession. with time and patience, there is no restriction on gathering materials to craft food consumables. through Gameforge's publishing, select food consumables are also available by exchanging Elleon's Mark of Valor (151643) which can be obtained through clearing party instances.

    - Standard Rootstock Festival consumables are obtainable via a seasonal festival. though it may seem limited, this limit festival event returns at least once a year, allowing players to harvest and stock up on the listed consumables as necessary. play time is guaranteed and is an effective way to enjoy one of the few seasonal contents in the game. most importantly, alternatives of equal effects are obtainable by crafting.

    - Non-standard combat consumable are listings that are 1) no longer obtainable, 2) obtained by special means only, 3) obtainability is extremely limited. for example, Seal of the Undying Flame (152905) is a combat-affecting consumable that had a very low chance to obtain through the Demon's Tome event, which most players who did obtain them had to resort to purchasing Demon's Tome loot box items with real money.

    - Event consumables are most notably consumables released by BHS for Lunar New Year (Tteokguk and items) which have been retrospectively configured to not work in Leaderboard instances. others include Castanica Summer Festival items, but adhering to the 3rd criteria of its limited supply, was included here instead of a different list such as how Rootstock Festival consumables are listed.

    - Note that partials of lists also include consumables obtained from events, but exhibit effect equal to select other ones in the list. for example, Friendly Noctenium Infusion (81212) is not as viable, but exhibits the same effect as Noctenium Infusion (1206) which is largely obtainable through various routes.

    - One method and currently working method of preventing usages of select, non-standard consumables in Leaderboard-instances is to disable the effect (abnormality) upon entering the said instances. however as BHS has self-claimed, the clear times of non-KR regions of instances have been visible longer than KR region, which justifies the making and usage of non-standard consumables. i must rebute saying that this is only justified when those non-standard consumables are available to all players at all or most the time, and that is not the case.

    - Another method and one i personally vouche for is the prevention of instance clears using non-standard consumables to be logged on Leaderboard for ranking. this allows players to keep and use non-standard consumables for clearing content, as well as making sure that the competitive.

    - What makes competition work is that players compete with predefined rules and regulations. TERA's Leaderboard has some rules but is not regulated, allowing usage of new or region-specific consumables leak into Leaderboard rankings. in NA, specifically Velik server, this has led to a competition between maybe a dozen players. the rest of the players cannot fathom to stay competitive, and resort to basically giving up on min-maxing. using the above reasoning, this means many players who had hopes to compete no longer have any reason to play the game any more. there are more players selling gear and saving up than posting LFGs to find groups to run instances and play the game. this is not an aspect of the game that publishers can ignore, competitive can keep the game alive. this is why PvP games have a better chance at keeping an active playerbase than PvE games because competition is the content -- the players are the content. without competition, exhausting content is quick -- end game instances released in TERA have been cleared in less than 24 hours. this is especially true for non-KR regions that are able to look ahead and study up content from KR before it is even released. if the content by BHS cannot be replenished fast enough, the publisher must at least keep the competition through Leaderboard active.

    - The following lists are based on v105 of the game, and may differ in future versions of the game. the list also considers duplicates that vary only by obtainability. for example, Lein's Dark Root Beer (80081) and [Event] Lein's Dark Root Beer (206045) are listed together.

Have a friend new fresh acc quit at level 37 and came back --

he haven't gotten a single leveling event reward yet and he already level 62

no idea why, anyone know what's going on with the leveling event ?

    is it bugged ?

just fyi, again, fresh acc, only char on the account,

not a single level +65 character on the account,

came back to the game with only a level 37 character on the account

so the excuse of "works once per class" doesn't work here

I have no idea on how mEME used to treat his playerbase, but GameFault loves to spit in our face.

Quite a surprise as people have always said GF is doing so much better than EME considering how they have a well-made event schedule released ahead of time, custom instances, and things like that .. no point letting people know early if it's not delivered is my two cents so far

All i'm really just looking for is to find out when the events start, and when the events end

So i noticed battleground schedule is in EST for TERA NA -- i'm assuming that's how it is for the event schedule as well, not confirmed, but works out since entry reset seems to be 12am EST ..

    Yes kekw

The best meme was the dungeon limit event

They gave us the same bugged event 4 fcking times until they notice the event doesn't work

    Upsetting indeed

any idea how you can get the launcher to locate the game folder ? it's a newly downloaded one from gameforge, not some leftover client from eme

    basically,

i downloaded the content to folder ../y but it made a folder in a folder like ../y/tera to download the game into, and i want it in folder ../y/<content> instead of ../y/tera/<content>

    any idea ?

thanks for your comments guys -- i decided to translate a few of the very superficial comments (not the technical ones) to give a general sentiment report ? to the Korean community about how other regions feel about TBA. cheers !
