Then for the sake of a Classic server success it will need a diferent publisher willingly to monetize the game in a diferent way GameForge has been doing it since old times.

I read all your post, wall of text included, and basically I get to understand that GameForge made this game p2w even on patches that were supposed to be more casual friendly.

So, if there is a plan for a Classic server (regardless of patch its built) GameForge will screw players progression for the sake of "making the most money in the less time posible".

Its a really a bad spot to be right now. Probably waiting for GameForge to close this game would be the only way to have a sucessful Classic server.

In my case, if there is one official Classic server in the future at least I hope it gets fixed some memory leak issues it had in the past.

And once again you cant bring facts but only leisures.

Have a good day mr bias.

I'm going to give you the chance to correct yourself there after you notice that I said "not the most reliable thing ever".

Also what's up with you admiting to voting on the poll 40 times and calling me biased and implying I'm opposed to the truth.

Also what's up with you ignoring all my other points on the matter and reverting to your own biased assumptions of what's popular, then calling me biased?

    haha. Sweet.Shiro.Neko?
More like Evil.Scumbag.Neko. Am I right?

Call me whatever you want you havent bring any facts in this thread at all to back up your bias towards 2012 or even 2013 patches.

While you can check by yourself over the internet how the overall player base population continue growing after Fate of Arun patch to a point where the active player base before the Knockout patch (dec 2015) was enought to keep 7 servers (at least for NA region) with healthy activity.

This was not something "Classic TERA 2012" did. It was the opposite TERA started with 11 (almost empty) servers back on 2012 and how many did EU ended up after first year? 2? NA had to merge servers too at that time from 11 to 3 and the only reason they didnt end up with only two at that time was because GMs werent willingly to merge Celestial Hills for the sake of "Role Play". I will remind you, it took 4 months after TERA release for these merges to happen, the very same classic game you love and have bias.

TERA didnt get any good support from player base until Reaper patch and later with Fate of Arun and the reason why TERA started to drop in activity after that, I will repeat this to you as you are someone who are not aware about anything but only what you think is right, was because BHS removed Alliances, Crusades and other changes they keep doing to the game at that point, that was Knockout patch on Dec 2015. From that point you can see how the game started going down hill and how they instead of balancing the game and fix the issues PvP and PvE wise, they keep doing more and more broken things. Crafting was gutted, gathering was gutted, the worth of gearing alts was dimished, Island of Dawn was removed, yes, it was after Knock out patch on dec 2015 and not in the 2014-2015 as a whole. There was not a worth thing mentioning on 2012-2013 being removed that caused that big player base drop rate like what happened on dec 2015. Meaning that your idea of TERA 2012-2013 popularity is only your bias and the bias of other people that were not enought to sustain the game in those times and you think the amount of money you are worth can be good bussiness for the publisher and devs. Sorry for you you are really off of the mark, you are dreaming about something that never was and by how things were it will unlikely to be.

Yeah while it's not the most reliable thing ever...

    You are a biased person.

How can be that "the most reliable thing ever" when I voted 40 times and it took all the votes as good, even when I did them on the same pc not even had to change to another pc or my location or anything, you can guess other people did the same, yet you dare to call that "the most reliable thing ever". You have big issues my friend.

This is what I keep telling you, no wonder why GameForge and other publishers always makes a blind eye on post from people like you. All bark and no bite.

A poll that everyone could have manipulated, I even voted several times on it to test it. You cant call "fact" something that unreliable.

This is why I keep telling you guys, the only thing that you wanna bring as facts are your "hunches" and not "facts".

distilled1 as I said I didnt want to hickjack Tadeshi's post but you are trying so hard to have this discussion here with no facts or counter arguments with something to back your opinion, its your only baised idea of what was the most successful ERA in TERA.

Probably GF never give their user base transparency about how the game was progressing overall about player base growth and other aspect of it, however EME gave us periodically info about this and you can see clearly how 2014-2015 (until gunner patch) were the most successful ERA in the game. Everything at least for EME version went down hill when they removed content like Alliance and Crusades, to put in their place Civil Unrest in dec 2016. That and other small changes in the game that made an huge portion of the player base angry and losing players left and right.

It was not Reapers patch (may 2014) and it was not Fate of Arun patch (dec 2014).

As I said before, you people are all bark and no bite and are so focused trying to show that your hunches are what matters and what its right but you have nothing to back them up, only words without weight.

With people like the one above I understand why publishers and devs never takes seriously people screaming for a classic server. They never bring a solid argument and always keep flaming other users sharing their own ideas about what could be best.

If all those people who quit long ago are like you its not wonder why TERA 2012 was a big failure and couldnt sustain itself by the p2p model. You are all bark and no bite.

There is a big reason why TERA had to make a transition from p2p to f2p and thats because the idea behind TERA in that time was not liked by most people and players werent willingly to pay for a game like that. So, you are telling Publishers and Devs to support your idea of a classic server and you are using the old player base that you "represent" as a way to say it will be a success?... sadly for you they have already numbers about how much of a failure the game was and probably are laughting at your idea.

I propose you something, if you are so sure a classic server can be that successful then buy the rights from BHS and GameForge to publish the game in the country you live. I guess spending several millions of dollars wont be an issue for you, right? because you are taking an idea that will be successful, right? Take the risk pal, show us that your words have some wieght.

Stop paying and stop playing and you will have positive results, not at first because it will turn into an even heavier p2w game than it is now because that's the gf logic.

SoulWorker situation can tell us perfectly what will happen with that.

People should only be asking themselves if losing all their stuff with a change of publishers can be worth GameForge letting go of this game.

With the past experience with EME -> GameForge transition I dont think this may solve issues at all but there could be slim chances to happen.

This issue is like opening a lootbox...

About buying gear or spending real money on gear, yeah its a waste of your money, gear becomes obsolete every 3 months so why would you spend your money in something that has so little life time?

I know this game is pretty much dead and new and returne players struggles really bad to get people help and join them on dungeons. To be honest new players are a rare thing to find now, most are lowbies alts from players who already maxed at least on character.

Asking the publisher/dev to add more p2w stuff on cash shop wont solve your issues, finding players to play the game, that actually will make it even worse.

When is fishing going to be fixed? Or is gold just not a reward from it anymore?

^ link and its oddly unmarked ... at least in my browser
    Basis.

    OK dude.
There were threads like this regularly.
You can check r/TeraOnline too and find more "OMG where is my 10k gold from fishing" threads there.

Since when an unofficial page like reddit has anything to do with the direction a publisher will take? Short answer, NEVER.

    You are really baised.

Gameforge just shut down their other, anime MMORPG - SoulWorker.

I don't expect this game to have much more than 1-2 year left at best.

Wow, and I still remember when I said SoulWorker was in a really lame state because GameForge doing an awful job, then sundenly a GF fanboy jumped out of nowhere white knighting them. That was 3 months ago, I wonder what will be of those white knights. Will they get paid to jump on TERA and defend GF from the current player base complaining about really bad state of this game?

"Whoever forgets his history is condemned to repeat it"

Anyone thinking a 2012 permanent classic server will be a big success are forgetting about 2 big factors:

    1. The publisher GameForge and pc dev team from BlueHole Studios.

    2. TERA back in 2012 was "so great, so popular" that it needed to change from pay to play model to a free to play model. Why? Because it was a massive failure world wide. Players leaving the game in the first 3 months left and right. Korean servers needed to make this transition before the first year, EU and NA was even worse, they need to make this transition after 4 months.

These are not the only reason why the game was a big failure, they only accelerated the process and hey, they are still here doing the same with current TERA.

Another thing to think about is, other games with Classic server works for these reasons:

    1. They have a big player base, dozens or hundreds of times bigger than TERA even before they opened their classic servers.

    2. Their popularity around the patches they made the classic servers were good if not great. This allowed to bring enought people to sustain their classic servers.

What era on TERA could be considered the best patch to make this "classic server" a better choice and probably a better bussiness than the big failure that was TERA back on 2012? Obviously TERA from 2015. Tadeshi's idea of a classic server for TERA.

All people claiming a TERA Classic server based on 2012 patches will be an huge success, you have no proof, you have no facts, and history taught us well. If back on those days people were unwillingly to support the game enought to be a bussiness in that p2p model, What makes you think people will do it now when they didnt do it in the past?

Maybe it is a good time to say that BHS gives a compensation for any kind of server stability issues and emergency maintenance as seen on their homepage:lol:

Most games I know gives a reasonable compensation for "all their player base" when they have maints, emergency maints and server issues.

Only TERA publishers seems to be against this kind of customer service.

And you read what Tadeshi said..... -_-

And what he/she said is not something she can actually support with facts. The only fact is that pool could be manipulated, someone or several people could have voted many times and they could have posted "their" characters names from their alts and it will be unlikely anyone can prove all people who voted and "shared" character names are legit votes from diferent people.

We can see here clearly is, there is a low amount of interest in a Classic server, you are trying to fool yourself thinking otherwise. I am interested in a "classic server like Tadeshi proposed" but thats like 1/3 of the people preferences in that pool, another amount slilghy above Tadeshi idea of classic server is the 2012 classic server but these people doesnt want to admit a fact, TERA on its origins was a big failure, not even a paid subscription model could support the life of the game and it has to migrate to the f2p model with mini transactions. I just dont see you guys learning from the mistakes already made, pretty much you ressemble GameForge, I hope this wont be taken as an offense but I agree comparing you with GF can be pretty despective, the "GOLDEN AGE" for TERA was around Tadeshi proposition of classic server and I am sure that is the best idea we could get.

Anyway, we could argue all you want here but you are blindly trying to make facts on assumptions that have little or not support.

950 votes when this thread has 6.8 thousands of views. Thats not even 14% of people who came here.

Oh, and one more thing, you could vote many times in that pool, making its data unreliable.

NOBODY complains only about droprate. Droprate would be cancer, but "fine" if there wasnt the option to purchase all stuff in Terashop and by doing so replacing the actual content. This is the thing one has to argue about since we never had such trash in Terashop on Patchday and indirectly forcing players to pay for their Gear...

I agree with this pretty much. "Selling on Cash Shop" materials to get BiS while making drop rate from dungeons really low was one of the most greedy moves they could do. Obviously this is by no means something as a player one would like at all.

It looks like some people forgot about HH times. If you wanted to have BiS gear and brooch (Behemot in Ambush patch or Oblit on Deathwrack patch). You needed to run that content almost every week. The same "dungeon/raid" again and again and again. Mats from them didnt droped on anyother dungeon.

And that was even before HH times. This has been " a norm" in games with gear progression, its not exclusive from TERA.

Indeed, as most people says here. BiS gear is usually for those who can clear the hardest dungeons (or as always for those who can p2w). If you have your weapon and armor +6 and want to get a better gear then try to learn how to clear the dungeon where the mats drops.

Before this week we could say things were awful for casual players but GameForge changed few things on rewards from completing dungeons and it looks a little bit better. The "biggest problems" you address here are not actual problems, they have been a norm in most games for a long time.
