They don't balance anything. With bare requirements the dungeons take way too long and with BiS they are a joke. The damage dealt should be increased according to gear progression, but right now there is such a huge gap between +7,+8,+9 they could be considered a completely new tier and throw off any balancing you could try to apply.

This seems to be true with v108 as you called it. Bahaar takes a skilled party 15 mins, and the new dungeon (NM) is ~10. I saw a DCHM trap that took 40 mins, which would've been 20 mins if they didn't let him get 2x power/defense from pre-awaken soul absorption mechanic. I wonder how OP BiS will be when players finally get their hands on decent pieces.

Using LFG for guild recruitment tells you how bad is the Guilds on Server "Search" tool. Even if GF removed more than 60k inactive guilds the issue in this tool remains. I have said it in this forums and I have sent tickets to GF but they dont give a shit about it.

Honestly, I don't think a change like this is in GF's control. I'm fairly confident they aren't allowed to do code edits, and I'd have to guess that the search function is just screwed beyond belief. It's gotten worse over the patches I think, not even showing me guild names if I type them in fully. They could at least pass it on, but I don't even think Bluehole cares given that they're focusing on ruining a good amount of other things in the process of "trying something new".

Honestly, it feels like Gameforge's power over TERA has weaned since they did the extreme event. I make a joke with my friends that the extreme event was so good, it pissed Bluehole off and they told Gameforge they have to run every change they're thinking of doing through them. Seeing how little Gameforge does, and how often they have to wait for Bluehole to do things for them, makes me think that it's the case more and more every time something happens.

EDIT: A revamp to guild search, guild applications, and guild prospects would be pretty nice considering I don't see many guild masters even look at prospects. Guild application feels like it was straight out of 2012 pretty much.

Uhm...Yes - I have read those patch notes - thats exactly why I created this thread and mentioned #1 & #5. But thanks for agreeing with me that the new changes are probably as bad (if not even worse) as the last gear! :elin31:

I assumed, but you could've made those arguments with old random options, and especially moreso with old class passive values. I'm sure that many people didn't or don't know what's coming, so I felt I'd just add it.

I'd say now more than ever, Bluehole needs to realize the problem they're causing. I won't sit here and say random options are bad, because I'm fairly used to dumb RNG systems... I will however, say that the power creep is going to be awful with "Unique" rolls. How are you going to balance a dungeon when you need to account for at least 10% more damage from someone who has god tier rolls..? That's just one roll, too. Not accounting for the other 10% damage increase (for 20% total) and two survivability rolls to make the game even easier.

    1. Remove random stats on gear - we want equalizied stats on gear like before exodor patch happened. It's dumb when another person is able to deal 20-30% more damage than you just because of all the random stats on gear. There are way too many different stats that are completly useless and just make it impossible to actually get a good item on your own by farming. People want to have a somewhat fair competition and not get carried or lose thanks to their own luck. Requiring the same luck as winning the lottery has absolutely nothing to do with "progression" and no matter how hard you try to hide it by changing the gearing system every year - tons of people stopped playing solely because of that.

Assuming you mean the secondary rolls like "Increase Physical Crit Power by (small number)"... They're doing exactly the opposite of this. In v108 (seraph's translation link) specifically the new gear, brings a new roll type called Support options. You get one Unique option and two Support options. You can't reroll the Support options, so you'll have to keep grinding gear drops until you get the roll you want.

The Unique options have grades I - V, similar to our Halidoms and Relics. The effect increases the higher the grade is. If you don't feel like looking at the patch notes, some of the options are:

    - Decrease cooldown of passives with ‘increase Crit Power’ effect by (7/9/11/13/15) seconds

    - Increase MP cost by 2 times, increase skill damage and effect of healing skills by (4/5/6/7/8)%

    - Increase skill damage and effect of healing skills by (6/7/8/9/10)% when HP is above 80%

Some of these effects are gigantic, like +10% skill damage when >80% HP. That's going to be a huge DPS difference vs someone with a worse, or even no roll. So people who are either whaling, or extremely lucky, will probably end up being top of leaderboards again. At least we have a succession system to transfer our enchantment, etchings, and normal options to a new piece of gear, right? At least it can't downgrade or damage anymore, right.? At least infusions are gone, right..? :fie:

If you aren't interested in completly revamping them then please at least change the Zerk & Sorc ones since once again - HP & MP are NOT offensive stats so why would anyone try to get those stats?

They actually increased the skill damage buff in proportion to maximum HP for Berserker. For Sorcerer, they added 3 new skills that get buffed from MP (Ice Lances, Frost Sphere, and Lightning Strike)... So HP & MP roll meta??

if they included a cross sever broker as well I wouldn't give a shit about a merge but jesus, you can't even find one good accessory(and the reroll scrolls you get from cr don't even ****ing work on what we even use atm) on kaia or good premium costume, it's pathetic

Yea, this is why I don't really like comparing KT and VK. I'm at least capable of logging in and buying a decent accessory. If not from broker, from the people spamming WTS LFGs if they have a decent deal.

Man, no one in Kaia or Velik uses the LFG to get people and run dungeons anymore.

Eh... I don't really agree with "no one"... I see LFGs for 501+ dungeons fairly often. I'd say at least once a day, maybe once every other day during weekdays. If we include <501s, then I'd be a bit more willing to say I see them daily.

Here's two LFGs right now as I went to see (as this would be the normal time I check, if not a bit early)

A lot of it is connections too. For example, if you meet someone who's pretty good in an LFG and add them, you can just ask them if they want to run something rather than starting an LFG. If you're friendly and/or if your LFG members are friendly, it's pretty easy to make connections fast and ditch the LFG system all-together. This is also true in a guild, or if your friends have connections. I very rarely go into an LFG alone, and if I have to start one, I'm usually starting it with a tank or healer, which are the harder roles to fill an LFG with. So my experience may differ wildly from a solo DPS or someone who's more of a lone wolf.

Obviously, my anecdote doesn't mean it is or isn't definitively alive. Being alive is an arguable opinion based on what you consider to be the minimum of "alive"... I just figured I'd give the reason behind my opinion, as my experience seems to differ from yours. I hope it brings a mutual understanding of where I'm coming from, rather than "its not dead lol". As I finish this section of my comment, a new RRK LFG came up and hit 5/5, the other RRK LFGs is at 4/5, and the Bahaar LFG hit 5/5.

Cross server LFG will solve pretty much... NOTHING at this point. And even less with a PvP server where if you pk another player in openworld you will get penalized and wont be able to use NPCs (banks, merchants, brokers, etc) after you waste your time mindlessly doing stupid things.

I didn't say it would fix things, but I believe Bluehole's hope is that more people will be drawn to using the LFG system as intended which will band-aid the problem while it's bleeding profusely. Whether it will actually do that or not? That'll depend on if the community as a whole wants to use the LFG system as intended. I can see its usefulness ranging from "it's good" to "this is worse than before".

Can you imagine if every LFG was cross-server by default? All of Velik's sell LFGs will be on KT, which'll just be a punch in the gut I'd assume.

I'm beginning to wonder if Bluehole is telling them they can't merge, considering v108 is going to include cross-server LFG(link). Just in case you don't trust Seraph, here's(link) the Bluehole patch notes. I'll agree that communication about this is lackluster to put it nicely, and comes off very negatively for anyone aware of the situation.

Sadly i think thats the game state in general for every server, seems its coming to an end

I know the global population isn't the best, but it's probably a good idea to stop the doom & gloom. That doesn't help anything. Velik is o.k. during decent NA hours, which is how it's been for years, even before the publisher swap. If you check LFG now (1 AM EST) it's gonna be dead, and again that's how it's been for years.

I feel like it's kinda downplaying the situation Kaia is in by comparing Kaia and Velik (or Kaia and Mystel since I see your server is Mystel). Kaia has a very dead broker, at least my stuff sells on Velik, and at least I can find LFGs for HMs when I want to run them. If I don't, I can queue for CT/KG and get a queue in a decent amount of time as a DPS.

it does... it puts a warning in chat. it even has a big orange "please log out in a safe place" on the top center of your screen. it starts an hour or two before maintenance, and will keep going every 5-10 minutes until maintenance.

14 days since the last post here, and not even a simple "we're looking into solutions"? this problem isn't going away, on the contrary, it's getting worse by the day. don't we have community managers who read the forums, and (try to) understand the playerbase? isn't that the point of a community manager? either i have my whole profession misunderstood, or something's wrong here...

this is getting to the point to where you're going to make your most dedicated players quit, for what? a few dollars? logically, you'd want to keep them around because happy players = more $$$. the reason i say these are the most dedicated is that the people left are playing on a desolate wasteland of a server, literally hoping for some semblance of care from the publisher. most people would have quit at this rate. those who have quit already likely won't come back, and even if they do, that scar of "well you made me wait 6 months in a dead server lol" isn't going to go away.

legitimately confused on the strategy here, or if this is just willful ignorance. coming from a velik player, this is getting depressing to witness.

there's a quest in kaiator that asks you to gather a bunch of shit. it's a yellow zone quest. that gives an inv expansion when you complete it.

the other is lv.50 as noted above.

    then the last is gathering.

i can get 96 right now with either bolstering the home front (which is the quest in kt) or the gathering thing.

so you missed something somewhere. (as I've done neither)

To be honest, the implication of what will likely happen if Bluehole self publishes TERA is just as concerning as Gameforge's apparent lack of care for our community.

If you want, you can take a look at how Gameforge is handling the Soulworker closure. You can now take a look at Lion Games' post about this, revealing that they are self publishing. As they are the developer for Soulworker, we can kind of get a glimpse at what would likely happen if Bluehole were to self publish for EU & NA.

If you don't want to read it, or for anyone else passing by, here's a quote from the Lion Games post I linked above:

    Quote

To provide a solution for transferring users’ accounts, we thoroughly considered whether the providable data could be transferred from GF to Lion Games. However, it was technically impossible to get the information required for identity verification based on ‘General Data Protection Regulation within the EU’. Hence we have concluded neither providing accounts transfer nor receiving any data from GF.

No account transfer would be a killing blow for a lot of the people who are still left in Tera, as the core audience is basically people who have been around for years I believe. I digress, though.
