Posts by Kirino EU

    Hi all,

I would first like to thank you for your support and interesting comments and viewpoints although we have had almost radio silence from Gameforge besides the usual "forwarding on" phrase many of us are familiar with. As mentioned after seeing this thread created by Tadeshi I set about the idea of creating the "unofficial" poll just to see what players meant when they said they wanted a classic server as it wasn't the first time I had seen the request on the forum since joining EU.

For this reason I tried to tailor the questions in a way that could break it down to at least a lower level than just "I want a classic server" . I know that people have said that they had voted x many times and that I should have required email verification however I have addressed this point in a previous post which I will try link at the end. I don't think its appropriate to use the results of this unofficial poll as conclusive evidence to discern what players want as Gameforge would be the ones who would be required to create their own official poll with their own measures etc. Although this thread has had "same 2 people arguing" with each other it does have one of the highest view count be it for interest on the thread or the people "discussing" with each other.

Nevertheless I thought that it would at least be useful to read some of the custom individual responses and for Gameforge and BHS to have site of this. Many of you had advised me that Gameforge and their Community Mangers would give me the usual "forwarded on" response as they do with most suggestions. This was why I went about setting myself the goal of at least getting these comments and requests through to the Developer BHS myself which I'm glad they acknowledged as something they would review in their previous GM note which was kindly posted by Tadeshi.

With that being said I believe there is not much more that can be done in re to a "classic server" as it now lies in the hands of BHS unless Gameforge are ever willing to try instigate this with the developer themselves. From the lack of actions, poor behaviors and generic comments from Gameforge regarding bugs, issues, suggestions of the main game itself it seems farfetched to believe they have any care for something such as a classic server.

BHS in the last month or two have had a dedicated page for where their own users can post suggestions to the game which I keep up with and it is apparent from what the korean playerbase is requesting that they do not even have remotely any similar concerns to the EU playerbase about the main game let alone the thought of a classic server.

I have provided links to the developer BHS site below however you will have to use Google Chrome for the translate feature/other means:

    Player Suggestions -https://playtera.co.kr/forum/suggestion

    Upcoming Updates -https://playtera.co.kr/news/updates

    GM/Dev Notes - https://playtera.co.kr/news/devnotes

With this it should give you an indication of the suggestions by the Korean playerbase to BHS which would likely shape the future of Tera's main game. It seems incomprehensible to me that there are many suggestion by EU players regarding the main game which Gameforge say they forward however we never see any of our concerns be addressed with besides Gameforge bringing region exclusive event dungeons.

    Hi all,

Just to give a quick update regarding my communication with Bluehole(Krafton) directly. It seems like they have the same attitude of Gameforge where they say "We will forward it on to the correct department". I've copied and pasted their 2 replies below from the google translate option (Korean) however I can send the direct Korean response should anyone want it.

Hi. Guardian This is Blue Hall Customer Center. First of all, we sincerely thank you for your valuable opinions from Guardian. I read the comments you sent. I think the game will be more satisfying if the opinions from the Guardian are reflected in Terra. We will organize your valuable opinions in detail and forward them to the department in charge. However, we ask for your generous understanding that it is difficult to provide detailed guidance on whether or not the feedback you sent is reflected. We will be Terra working hard to grow further by referring to the opinions sent by the Guardian. We look forward to your continued interest in Terra, and please feel free to send any other comments or inquiries to the Blue Hole Customer Center. Thank you.

I have read carefully the survey sent by the Guardian and the comments she provided. We will organize the valuable opinions sent by the Guardians and the survey contents that many Guardians have participated in and forward them to the department in charge. However, we ask for your understanding that it is difficult to provide guidance on whether or not to reflect the opinions you have sent. As you love Terra a lot, we will try to become Terra that can provide a better environment by referring to your opinions. In the future, I would like to ask for your interest in Terra and hope that you will feel frustrated by the mask, but refresh your mind. Thank you.

    Hi all,

    Creator of this “poll” here.

Just thought I should clarify a few things so as to give a better idea as to why I thought it would be useful to make the poll.

    1. Multiple Entries - There was the option of having it limited to one entry per person by requiring an email address to be entered (can’t remember if it had to be a google specific one). I decided against this as I didn’t want to be collecting the personal data (email addresses ) of respondents and Gameforge might have been reluctant to accept any of the gathered responses due to potential GDPR concerns.
    2. Legitimacy of the site used - when considering the site to use to gather responses I was first going to use surveymonkey as I was most familiar with it. However I decided to use Google Forms as pretty much everyone knows and ‘trusts’ google (at least I hope).

Number of people voting - As mentioned above I knew that there was the possibility of people making multiple entries however the purpose of the poll was not to “gather votes”. I won’t argue to say ‘x’ amount of people want a classic server however it’s pretty apparent when you look at factors such as the views of this thread, the views on the classic server gameforge YouTube videos, the number of people on unofficial classic server discords and the constant cries of players that there is at least “some” interest in a classic server.

For this reason I decided to create the “poll” not to gather votes but to actually see what people are asking for when they say a “classic server” and to display this in an easy to read way.

The things you should be looking at from the results of the “poll” are things such as the split between people wanting a 60 compared to a 65 classic server.

Similarly the the split between people willing to pay or people who expect maintenance/continued development/content on a classic server.

The results have been shared with Gameforge and the public (and I’ve also received a response from BHS who “claim” they are willing to look at) to see which was the intention of the poll. It was not to “get gameforge to make a classic server” but rather to “show what people mean when they say they want a classic server” (like many posts on the forum).

I hope this helps clear up any misinformation.

Sorry for spam but I’ve just come across this event server called Manahan done by Gameforge in December 2017 (seems to be patch 63/64)

LIVE NOW! MANAHAN – THE EVENT SERVER!

    @
    threea @Atmorph @Baldrov @Languste @Melione

I’m curious as to whether Gameforge still has something like this.....? And whether this could be something they could consider releasing again (albeit with a few changes) even as some form of “seasonal server” etc.?

I didn’t join EU from NA til June 2018-ish so it would be nice to hear more about this Manahan event and the views people have of it (for those who played)

I imagine people would rather play this version of Tera rather than the current main game (at least from my perspective ) for pvp?

Would people be interested in this if it was the only option/patch Gameforge could offer?

    Hi,

Just giving a short update as to what the main responses from the poll have been after 1 week (roughly 800 responses as of 28 January 2021).

    • A majority of the players are interested in a Classic server
    • There seems to be a close split between what people consider a classic server to be between level 60 and 65
    • Around 60% of the people would prefer a F2P model should a Tera classic ever be made and the remaining 40% would prefer a type of payment (P2P/B2P).
    • A majority of the responses say they would still play should there no maintenances or anti-bot&gold system
    • 40% would expect new content on a classic server and 25% would not. The remaining 35% do not mind as long as there is a a poll to decide what is added
    • Even if a Tera Classic requires a P2P model a majority of the players would still be willing to play.

I’m not sure if the makeup of the poll responses in terms of percentages for each question will change however we will keep the poll open for longer to see how many more responses we can get.

We will share this with Gameforge in the hopes of them analysing the responses to send to BHS or just sending the responses directly to them.

    My thoughts

I as many Tera players would love to see a Tera Classic server once again. For people like myself the game in its current state is disheartening to see and each patch we see a dwindling player base.

It’s no secret that there has recently been an upsurge of multiple unofficial ******* servers which of course have been profiting from players desperate to play a classic version of Tera which Gameforge and BHS have not been able to supply. Whilst this has been an ongoing request the fact that there has been many bugs, exploits etc. which have not been fixed or completely ignored (especially in pvp) really gives some players no other option but to give their time (and money) to the unofficial ******* servers which are offering that which Gameforge and BHS won’t supply no matter how many times players have requested.

It seemed like whenever the topic came up in the forums that the Community Managers would always simply ignore the request so one of the reasons for the polls was to put players views and request for a Tera Classic server on a simple graph for both Gameforge and BHS to see.

As a Tera Classic server will no doubt require time, money, resources we had also put questions in the poll so that Gameforge and BHS can consider all these factors in terms of considering whether they have the capacity to release a classic server.

The current results from the poll show that in terms of costs most players would be okay with paying should the server require a P2P mode. In terms of resources most would be fine without long term development/content/maintenances as long as the server is functional.

One point that could be raised is that “with the decline of the playerbase of the main game, wouldn’t splitting the playerbase make the game more dead?”

The answer to that is NO.

A majority of the players who will most likely stay to play the classic server will be old players who have left or those who currently do nothing in game but who still keep up to date with the news (awaiting for something like a classic server once again).

I don’t need to tell this but this can be seen from the attraction of the temporary server gameforge did for 6 weeks. Can you imagine that a video of a TEMPORARY classic server is Gameforge’s most watched video for Tera in their whole YouTube existence with over a million views?

It is clear to see that the demand is there however if Gameforge believe that it carries “too much risk” then they can once again host a Classic server to visually see this themselves. Should you decide this option I urge you to first listen to the players in terms of changes to be made PRIOR to the release.

It may be the case that you’re hands are tied in terms of carrying out certain requests from your playerbase. For this reason we ask that you at least forward on the results of the poll to BHS to convey our request once it is closed.

At the minimum we deserve for you to pass on our feedback we have on the game you publish to the developers.

Just curious, did u find any team and how many ?

Not sure if you misunderstood, but the event is for Solo Queue (each person queues on their own and the game matches them into a team).

It is NOT for premade Team queue (This is where you find 2 people yourself to make a team and then queue together to face others who make their own teams)

The differences between Solo queue and Team queue are that:

    1. You pick your own team in team queue whereas in solo queue you get matched in a team by the game

    2. In team queue you use your own personal in game gear, whereas in solo queue you are given equalised gear.

The main reason we made the event for solo queue is that you don’t need to go through the trouble of finding a team and you don’t have to be geared as it’s an Equalized battlegrounds

The in game rewards for Skyring are completely useless which we have mentioned to Gameforge numerous times (see many previous posts), which is why we decided to take matters into our own hands and offer rewards in the form of gold and also Shop items.

Feel free to ask any further questions or say if you need any clarification on any points

    - oh and YES we have been having matches as healers have been queueing see the battleground schedule below

how you going to monitor wintrading? or its allowed?

We’ve made the event so that you get more points from participating in matches(regardless of whether you win or lose) rather than having a high rating at the end of the season.

Therefore if people want to wintrade, they will need to do loads of matches to be able to win against legitimate healers who will be doing 50+ matches.

Should they go ahead and wintrade 100/200 matches it will become obvious to everyone at the time they are doing it as their names will constantly be changing in the Skyring Leaderbaord positions and we can easily catch them out by queuing teams when we see this happen.

Me and Matrixo will be actively doing 3v3 so we will know all of the healers who we have seen in solo q. As well as the account of other people. If someone comes up with 100+ matches and no one saw them in solo queue then there’s a 99% chance that they were wintrading and we simply just won’t reward them.

That’s not to say that we want to discourage you against queueing Team Premade Champions Skyring 3v3. This event for the time being is designed to encourage Solo 3v3 to become more active (as it is an Equalized battleground) and to encourage healers to play more.

We will soon be making more upcoming events like this with even bigger prizes which will include:

    - 10v10 tournament

    - 5v5 tournament

    - 3v3 Premade Skyring Tournament

    - 1v1 Tournament

Stay tuned by joining the PvP discord in the post above my Matrixo.

Would be nice if you were able to implement the elin button pvp quests for Champions Skyring during this month With rewards every week as just completing Skyring gives literally no rewards

x100 veteran players boxes (medium quest ) participate in Skyring 10 matches

X200 veteran plate boxes (large quest) participate in 25 Skyring matches

You might as well increase the amount of plate boxes we get as:

    1. Skyring gives no rewards at all

    2. PvE gear is better than PvP gear so what will it hurt to give us materials for outdated gear.

    Hi all,

Just thought it was worth a mention to let you know that JTERA similar to us/NA/RU etc. ( NOT Ktera - who is the dev) also have the Wintera battleground which is expected as it is Christmas ofc...... BUT THEY ALSO HAVE FEEDSTOCK AS A REWARD(through tokens although daily) FOR DIONG WINTERA??

Gameforge - Can we have this too? Can we get better rewards like feedstock etc. through bg in general like CS/SH/3v3?? - with a daily limit ofc too but it should make bg's active i guess?

    - Please add Veteran's Plate Box and Veteran Talent Box

    Everyone else- Discuss....

    Hi all,

The developers of TERA (BHS aka Krafton) has made a survey:

“The Krafton development team is conducting a survey. This is your chance to provide us with feedback on the latest TERA update—Aerial Island—as well as your thoughts on some of TERA's core features. Click here to get started.

Please please please all vote and SHARE

It would be great if we can give our pvp suggestions in the final box as we know it will be going straight to the developer. Hopefully if they see that people care about PvP they’ll consider actually giving us proper PvP updates

What follows is a message directly from one of the developers on TERA. This message is concerning the gear change update that recently went out in the KR version of the game.

Hello, my name is Gon. I’m a developer for TERA.

First, I’d like to apologize to all of you that we had not fully explained the background information on the latest TERA update.

We’ve heard that many of you have expressed a great deal of concern about the gear we added with the July 23 update.

We hope that this note will not only inform you how to utilize existing gear, but also alleviate your concerns by explaining the purpose behind the design, as well our future plans regarding the gear update, which we’ve not addressed in previous developer’s notes.

The Intent of the New Gear

First, let me give you a little information on the background of the new gear update.

Currently, TERA’s gear upgrade system is a “vertical upgrade” system, with a total of 36 enchanting grades and 4 upgrade levels, ranging from Guardian gear up to Heroic Oath.

When we first introduced Guardian gear, we reorganized the gear system in order to simplify the enchanting process and minimize grinding, thus improving the players’ access to gear.

However, the current system for gear is showing the same issues—in different forms—despite our initial intention and efforts to lower the barriers to upgrading gear.

So, there is still a big gap in item level that players own, because of the enchanting rate and cost. Additionally, the high enchanting cost required at every stage does not guarantee a similar increase in the gear’s performance, leaving players feeling unsatisfied.

The existing system of enchanting and upgrading gear doesn’t allow a means to skip any steps, and makes it more difficult for new and returning players to adapt to the game.

So we’ve reorganized the gear upgrade system to resolve such issues, and we have introduced new gear that has a more stable upgrade system for all players.

    New Gear Organization

The origin of the idea, and our primary consideration when we came up with the new system, was how to make use of existing gear.

Considering the time and effort players have spent on upgrading their gear, we wanted to ensure that any existing gear could still be effectively utilized, even after the introduction of new gear.

With that in mind, we moved forward with setting up the new gear specs with these main goals in mind:

    • Distinguished performance and purpose of existing gear
    • Different methods of obtaining and enchanting existing player gear

Distinguished Performance and Purpose of Existing Gear

In order to ensure that players’ existing gear remained desirable and useful, we could not simply grant higher stats to new gear.

So with new stat sets for Physical and Magic, we designed new gear with special attributes.

Gear now enhances the player’s Power and Crit Factor, and players can enhance desired attributes using crystals, but the new gear has Physical and Magic attributes and provides improved performance through random options.

Also, new gear has variables: The coefficient of skills and Physical/Magic resistance changes the player’s DPS.

Such features can be useful when players are focused on dungeons, but Guardian gear provides more stable DPS in any conditions.

Different Methods of Obtaining and Enchanting Existing Player Gear

As I mentioned above, we introduced new gear to improve the existing gear upgrade system.

One of the main characteristics of the new gear is how it can be obtained and traded via grinding.

New gear will be provided as an alternative to help make use of player gear for new and returning users that could not easily acclimate to the game, because they were not able to upgrade their gear to proper levels. This new system should also aid players who stopped upgrading their gear due to the heavy burden imposed by enchanting costs.

But new gear will have a variety of specs, including grade, number/type of options, and each option’s performance. It will be easy to increase their stats to a certain level, but difficult to reach max level.

The burden of the high enchanting cost also has been eased: The enchanting cost of new gear is lower than the enchanting cost of Guardian gear.

New gear can be upgraded faster, with fewer hurdles, so that more players can upgrade their gear without all the stress.

All the stats of the new gear have been set up equal to or lower than higher-level gear, but some gear can be upgraded up to a higher level than “Heroic Oath gear” through enchanting above the specified level.

But it will still be difficult to enchant gear above the specified level, as it can result in item level drop, or even damaging of the item.

Existing Gear’s Place in the Gear Hierarchy

Now that I’ve explained the reason for—and the direction behind—the new gear development, I will tell you about the new gear’s place in the overall hierarchy of gear—and how to utilize it.

    Gear Hierarchy

First and foremost, I’d like to let you know that the current gear positions will remain the same.

New gear has been added to resolve longstanding issues in the gear upgrade system, not merely to offer higher tier of gears.

We understand and appreciate the time and effort you’ve spent on upgrading your gear, and we want to help you to continue improving your gear.

In this Skywatch update, the Heroic Oath gear will have stat levels comparable to the new gear for max level (Legendary).

For an example, please refer to the following table, which compares the new gear with Stormcry and Heroic Oath gear:

    New Existing
Uncommon +0 Same level as Stormcry +0
+10 Same level as Stormcry +7
Rare +0 Same level as STormcry +6
+10 A little higher than Heroic Oath +3
Legendary +0 Similar to Heroic Oath +0
+10 Higher than Heroic Oath +3
    • Heroic Oath gear is set to level 458 in the new dungeon. No special preparation is required to clear the dungeon when using this gear.
    • Gear is designed to provided fixed damage without regard to physical or magic resistance.

How to Use Guardian Gear, Legendary Gear

Existing gear will be used to help craft Legendary gear that will be arrive in a future update. Legendary gear will be new type of equipment and have characteristics as follows:

    • “Legendary” is a new type of weapon with unique options. It can be crafted using Heroic Oath and new gear.
    • Enchanting level of materials will remain the same. +0 and +3 Heroic Oath items will yield different results when they are used as materials for crafting.

Legendary weapons are in the process of development, so I cannot provide you any more details at this time. I will provide more information as it becomes available.

I can tell you that it will be introduced to the game as a big update, after careful preparation. We’re working hard on its development so as to meet your expectations.

    In Conclusion

Again, I’m very sorry that the lack of information after the big update caused you all so much worry.

I promise that we will definitely inform you about future updates in advance, through a developer’s note.

    Thank you.
