TERA shuts down on 30th June 2022 at 10:00 AM CEST.

That is a Thursday, 10:00 AM CEST. When everyone is at work/school.

Amazing idea Gameforge. Shows the competence once again.

Whatever. It was a nice time, especially 2013 and 2014 which i consider being TERAs prime.

Cheats and bugs are not the bigger problem.

They ruined PvP in its core.

The only way to fix this is if they remove all the big updates (Guild Stats, Cards, Advance Skills and Enhancement Points).

Or at least just remove these from battlegrounds and open world PvP permanently.

But they will not remove it, since they think it is new and revolutionary.

Remember; Korea is totaly out of touch with TERA, especially the PvP side.

They should have worked on new glyphs and crystals instead. These two things are amazing and can be even better.

Vanli: I said Action Combat, not Action Game. Two different things.

Not every Action Game has so called "action combat" implemented.

    TERA's genre = MMORPG + Action Combat.

Other action combat games are BnS, Black Desert... or lets take another older non MMORPG game "Mortal Kobat: Shaolin Monk" for the first Xbox as an example.

The gameplay makes the genre, the modes DO NOT. Modes are just modes! Nothing more.

Modes get usually a unique name: Last Man Standing (today Battle Royale), Deathmatch etc.

In todays time everyone lost sight what really defines the genre of a game. Even developers lost sight.

TBA is definitely not a MOBA.

LoL or Dota are not MOBA games because of the mode but because of their uniqe gameplay.

The mode that they are playing (as far as i know) has no name, which is incredibly funny.

The developers of MOBAs misunderstood gameplay and modes.

That is why they falsely call both gameplay and the mode "MOBA" but in reality they are a MOBA because of gameplay ONLY and their mode got no name.

Everything in TBA is how i expected it to be. No surprises for me.

We already had the info that every character will only have 8 skills.

From the very first infos it should have been clear to anyone that TBA will be a big fail.

And one more thing... TERA is not a MOBA.

It is in the Action Combat genre. Two very, very different things.

It's a RIP then finally these devs will wake up ♦

No. They will not wake up.

They will think "we did an amazing job, but looks like players were not interested into it". Because they don't know any better. There is so much money to grab with TERA but they simply don't know how to do it.

What we see right now is the absolute maximum of the developers ideas and monetisation.
They are totaly out of touch with TERA while for example me as a normal player could make the game much better + gain much more money.

    We got more information.

It looks like the playable characters will only have 6 skills.

Who in the right mind was thinking 6 skills is enough for a game like TERA?

We need at least 22 skills per character otherwise the combat system will make no sense.

Why are you making yourself all the work just to make a USELESS PvP game???
I am for sure NOT playing such a game where you have only like 6 skills.

These kind of games suffer from repetitive usage of such a low amount of skills and when the skills are on cooldown you run around doing nothing and you feel like a idiot.

Gameforge Get that feedback to Korea please. 22 skills per character is a MUST for a action combat game.

lSorel I remember you back then in Alliance times. Your sorcerer character was called Sore. Arcadia Server.

I was in Ishara PvP before coming to Arcadia. I came to a PvE server instead of Killian because the last 2 people from my guild transfered there a couple of weeks ago. But when i arrived they already stopped playing.

I also have a friendlist like yours. Two people 7 years offline, many 6 years, 5 years etc.

And for Fraywind, you are right BAM's were ok for extra points but the buffs are a no-go.

Edit: Forgot to mention. BG's started popping up at 11:00 and lasted till late night times. Quick queues.

The battleground shown in the trailer will definitely not interest real PvP players.

    See the PvE boss. Why?
If i would develop this game i would give the players actual PvP battlegrounds.

As soon as we get more information for TERA Battle Arena i will tell you in detail how i would create a TERA PvP standalone game. The potential is enormous.

I wanted to open this topic to talk about the new Battle Arena mode, which is seperate from the TERA MMORPG.
As of right now we lack information but the community can still give feedback since the trailer is out.

    Here are my thoughts:

    1) I don't like the idea of picking heroes. Why can't we create our own characters instead?

We could pick the race, class, gender and a character name just like we are used to. This would be much more unique compared to all these other games that have hero picks.

    2) Why is it not a own newly developed PvP game in Unreal Engine 5?

A huge missed opportunity there. I don't understand this decision. Such a game would be a huge success.

So what do you guys think about Battle Arena? What are your first impressions?

Sadly TERA has not a big future if things don't change drastically. And spoiler alert, things will not change drastically.

There are a lot of people that are interested into TERA's PvP but there are also far to many problems with this game. My PvP Youtube channel has only 13 videos but has 1200 subs and the view count is crazy high for a TERA Corsairs' only channel. This alone proves that TERA has huge potential. I planned for Skyring, Fraywind, in-depth guides/analysis etc. but due to the overall PvP situation i stopped making videos. My goal was 13 videos anyways (each class 1 video), and i reached that personal goal. Once TERA is no more i can look back at my 13 characters from time to time.

Here is the link if you want to check the channel for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWy5TaHS37c4-gY7tmVoz0A

But like i said... there are problems.

    1.) TERA is a MMORPG.

You need to max level a character before you can enter PvP battlegrounds.

People that are not interested into MMORPG's wont play TERA no matter how good the combat system or the PvP modes are.

These people want to download the game and start PvP-ing without leveling a character through some MMORPG PvE content. MMORPG's will never ever have huge player numbers like other multiplayer games where you don't need to level up a character first before you can finally play vs. other players.

2.) The game is not optimized very well.

3.) PvP accessibility is in a horrible state, it can't get much worse.

In a perfect world the koreans would just sell the TERA IP to a smart & big game developer (Epic Games, Blizzard etc.). From there TERA would continue existing as a clean PvE game by deleting all PvP battlegrounds.

TERA 2, a PvP only game would be developed in Unreal Engine 5. You can pick a race, class, appearance and the name for your character and you are set for instant PvP action. The combat system would ofc stay the same or if possible be polished some more. Game modes would be Battle Royale, 1vs1, 3vs3, 5vs5, FC, CS for example.

It would be a F2P game without P2W elements and with a battle pass & purchasable skin system. Trade Broker system as we know it should be a thing too so that you can buy items with ingame gold/credits if you don't want to use your own cash. There would be of course much more things to do in TERA 2, it would not be a empty game. Gearing and Glyphs for example would make your characters versatile and only minimalistically stronger. Just so that new players don't have a huge disadvantage when they start.

Imagine having TERA 2 (or whatever the name would be) as an optimized UE 5 game + PvP only game + combat system that is already superior + high play numbers.
