... we dont let them use their skills, we dont let them change the skillbar and the controls, oh Yeah this will be great...

why did they do that ? its one of tera's best features to be able to bind anything to any key...

i usually quit other games cos they dont have that. and yeh i quit tba after 10 minutes too.

    :(

+ for Permanent etchings... its really a joke what you have to invest .... and how long it take to produce them... money and material wise

its completely in line with what upgrading has become in the last year: deep money- and material pits, and they are still digging so brace yourself.

I agree that these new etchings are terrible but there is an easy fix for it. Just ignore their existence and keep the permanent ones you have now. xD

no doubt the perma's will be removed from game and gear soon enough.

Probably Gameforge hits the same wall with Krafton as we do trying to reason with Gameforge.

As long as Krafton makes enough money out of their homebase they wont care much about the rest.

Maybe sometimes GF gets their way a tiny bit, forwarded the pvp issue and Krafton makes a thing like TBA.

Ofcourse one shouldn't judge before even trying, but by the looks of it not much effort was wasted on it: existing templates, exisiting skills mashed up a bit so we can now zerk with sorc skills.

To keep the game interesting you need to have a new goal to strive for. Years ago that meant by the time you had the new gear, another one was being introduced. Once you got thát, new gear was introduced etc. The gear is quite steady for now, but in terms of striving-for, is replaced by stats on that gear, progression made harder and harder with RNG on top of RNG, damage/downgrade etc etc.

Add to that the slowed introduction of new accessories.

And temporary etchings are meant to keep you going as well.

Wonder what they will come up with next.

Temporary gear? or Legendary topping Mythical. Then Divine topping Legendary...

As the title of this thread says, much of our griefs are sentimental.

I do miss the old days too, ofcourse.

But i can imagine newer players are quite used to all this.

We older players remember things differently, we played in a time before gaming became mainstream and caught the eye of investors.

Play any game from MMO to turnbased card games and after the initial joy will come that point where you will not progress unless you grind with zero-lifing in the most efficient daily cycles or... and/or visit cash shops.

It is what it is. From the distributor or developer's point of view things might go well, we won't know. Our griefs may be a drop in the ocean of otherwise perfectly happy old or new players.

For me, knowing all this, i am rarely willing to even try upgrade as i realize the time, effort or cash i invest has an incredibly slight chance of paying out. A million gold and mats might even leave you off worse than you were.

    Knowledge can be a curse.

But i keep trying, probably also sparked by sentiment.

BRING BACK... my joy in playing ||

    :close:

    i feel sorry for Atmorph.

how the hell can you sell new "improvements" like temporary etchings and keep smiling?

"great news!!! your gear can now be damaged/downgrade and it will cost millions of gold !

isn't it exciting!? you can now grind more than ever before! and still have a succes rate of 1%!"

i very much doubt gameforge has any say in the development of the game.

we should be directing our griefs at krafton.

    ehm anyone read/write korean?

i would love to feel informed lol.

but in 8 years information on changes has been lacking, or completely absent.

i have visited the patchnotes forum and stand corrected. no idea how i missed that. could be i just remembered (in the past 8 years somewhere) that it was different or that i remember too many patch notes handling mainly new dungeons or shop thingies.

nevertheless my apologies to the team.

    :censored:

i do hope its not going down.

we as players/users dont, wont or cant always know what problems solutions might give. (is that irony?) and many just speak from their own viewpoint and nothing else.

i have worked in a shop long enough to know customers dont, wont or cant always see what problem the 'other side' might encounter.

i tried to consider this in my post as well as i could.

nevertheless, my view on the direction it has (and will?) hasnt changed yet.

like you said: temp etchings, even more rng in the rng, add items to make it permanent ( if that will be possible... it might be temporary permanently LOL) add more rng-combating items... etc.

    threea

i understand its an ongoing battle and we as players might not realize the numerous problems you encounter in your position as game managers.

let me say upfront its nothing personal ;)

i think we as players are just frustrated with many changes, especially if you are an 8 year veteran.

and since we cannot vent our issues to the people that are really responsible for what we perceive as bad changes, well... you are the go-between and alas have to take all the crap that should really be directed to the aforementioned people. the downside of your job i guess...

let me give you an example of one of my frustrations, and try to see it from our point of view.

i'm a pleb player with mediocre gear and as one of the few i avoid dungeons for numerous reasons. but... in 8 years i got by quite well by doing things that got me enough materials or gold outside dungeons and shop.

so i was glad to be able to get some annihilation gear and did my best to make it better.

i gathered, which could be very profitable, i crafted, same profit, i farmed where and what i could from killing open world mobs.

i got my gear to +11 -ish, i was proud and happy despite all elitist comments.

then one day, after finally getting enough materials to have another try, oooh thats a shame! i failed AND DOWNGRADED. NOT a nice suprise, never announced ( i checked all patch notes) and unless i was lucky many times before in enchanting ( very unlikely, you know the stats) this didnt apply to annihilation, just kaia and pvp gear, but BOOM haha your gear can downgrade now.

    yay.

from my (player) point of view , outside the given example, in the last few months more and more and more possibilties to get gold and ( usable) loot were skillfully eliminated one by one, untill none were left but dungeon 24/7 on all of your 12 alts or visit the rng shop. EDIT: 24/7 dungeons AND visit the shop ( rarely get what you need from dungeon alone, have to go broker orshop to fill the gaps)

with pet adventure ( also a surprise) the price of gathered materials dropped from avg 20 gold to ONE.

crafting is worth-ish to do but mainly to avoid having to buy stuff that you can make. save for a few things its not worth trading.

guardian reduced to one per account... dont bother anymore. if i do im done within 15 minutes.

killing mobs in the open world has a 0.00001 % of getting som, ething worthwile ( forget skill xp im maxed and can max all my chars with the tomes i have in bank ( 1200 tier2 currently) so ... yeh well why would i do that?

fishing ... well apparently the only solution to botting was to eliminate fishing alltogether. im sorry but just for the tokens and what you can get from that i feel that is also not worth it.

even if i enjoy gathering, crafting and all mentioned above, in the end it leaves me with an empty feeling cos what did i gain from spending hours doing that? nothing.

it feels to me you ( or krafton, idk who is responsible) are going for pay cash or dont get anything.

thats fine and all, you/they are a business and running tera is not free. you dont work for free and neither do i, nor any player nagging about p2w.

in the past i was happy to "invest" in the game, just because i enjoyed it and like i said, nothing is free and i dont mind paying for something i enjoy. yes , even in the internet-age where people think everything is free and then have the right to complain about essentialy a gift horse.

but since there is not much or anything usefull i can do in the game i spend less and less time and consider spending my money just a waste.

i have invested a fair amount ( im a poor boy) in the past and never regretted doing so.

but with all the mentioned restrictions, i see no point.

if you chase away free players, imo you also lower the playerbase's numbers AND with that people that consider spending money here.

well, i guess i cant tell whats going on on the other ( your/krafton's end) and who knows maybe its the right decision for you . idk.

but imo you are underestimating the power of loyalty of players and honesty in playing.

like i said, idk, maybe on your end all is going well, you know ( and cant tell all) what is happening over there with you and yours.

if nothing else, and however this ends, i would like to thank you for making me able to play your game and i have enjoyed it very much over the last 8 years.

hope to see you again for the next 8 years, but ... well lets just see how this will develop.

    <3

i have yet to discover a game where combat feels more natural.

and if i dont like where the keybinds are its supereasy to reassign them, same goes for UI.

    drag drop done.

try rearranging your skill keybinds in BDO or BnS. not fun, and sometimes not even possible, or you lose some skill/interaction key that you apparently overwrote with your new assigns.

    ofc its an opinion.

tbh i enjoy tera most now by leveling up a new character and avoid all advice/quest/dungeon.

    just go out, explore, kill.

    make tera an adventure again.

@Bluehole - can you guys finally fix exploits that are in the game since idk 6-7 years instead of just adding more and more gold sinks that completly fûck over the ethical playerbase?

Bluehole/Krafton's answer: "no, we started out for love of the game but now we like money more.."
