huge changes, really? one new dungeon and new gear. thats it. you probably need to grind that one new dungeon over and over and over and.... then at some point start asking for new content again etc. etc. etc.
what happens to fun and the sense of adventure in endgames lol? its all just repeat repeat repeat and follow these instructions (rotations/rolls/grind spots/etc) to the letter. thats not fun lol. its just WORK. a job beside your daytime job.
with not much experience in other games i can still safely say TERA needs more content than just 1 dungeon to make me return.
because outside that there is (will be) nothing worthwhile to do.
i guess this is true for most, if not all, games.
luckily there are some games that offer more content than just that endless cycle.
and thats where you will find me.
-
ridiculous to take so long. get it right from the start. update all content, THEN release a patch.
-
google-translated it all.
nothing there for me to look forward to.
not reinstalling for that.

-
RIP TERA.
its been fun.

the problem with tera is that it has been made far too easy. your gear and level outweigh anything during the amazing 1 day leveling experience. you dont need to travel anywhere, instant tp's everywhere. even skipping some gear during leveling doesnt get you into trouble. i'm able to kill mobs 10 levels higher than me with a bit of effort and patience. and im not even that good.
but why would i, except cos i wanted to try myself? drops in the world are either non-existant or useless, or even outdated (cant be used anymore but for some reason still in the game). all i see in leveling zones are people rushing through to get to the next dungeon asap. some might go and take the unrecommended yellow quest way. but since you outlevel those even worse than the main questline, this way consists of : run there, kill a mob or 2, run back x 10 quests. if these mobs posed any resistance it might be fun. but they dont. hit them once they dead.
most quests have been dumbed down to the point that they must think we are absolutely stupid.
but who cares about leveling in tera right? just get to the magnificent and rewarding endgame as quick as you can where you can do 3 dungeons over and over and over.
this is all tera has to offer at max level. this is also the exception to the rule that everything is supereasy. this is where you realize you either do those 3 dungeons on as many chars as you can over and over and over, or visit the shop for easier upgrading. the shop has more adventure in it than the open world. "want that costume/item?" "its in an rng box, so expect to pay much more than you thought it would take" "if you get it at all"
and the purpose of doing all that, shop or grind?
so you can do those 3 dungeons easier.
lmao. "sounds like fun"

and that sums up tera in a nutshell.
3 dungeons and a horse's head.
lather-rinse-repeat on 20 chars.
an open world that is completely useless and never updated.
even events since last november are just repeated from last month's, with a twist here and there. again also with events, everything hinges on dungeons only. no wonder cos thats the only content left.
i did not abandon tera, tera abandoned itself.
being loyal to a fault, i have waited a long time before quitting. after all i have been here for 8 years and it was my first love.

there is just nothing to do anymore except that repeating dungeon cycle and the tweaking of your end gear to purple perfection which only purpose is getting through the 3 dungeons easier. oh yes, i also prepare myself for upcoming new content! i.e. another dungeon which makes one of the three obsolete.
if i dont feel like doing them ( which is practically always since its too repetitive) all i can do is afk. that gets boring quickly.
the number of other -viable- activities outside that is almost zero.
so, one day while afk-ing for hours (again) i had enough.
i dont see any forthcoming changes that would bring me back. if there is going to be a change in future, it will be one new dungeon. maybe some new jewelry/gear to keep us going. many shop updates, including pure p2w ones like "buy more attack speed" ( silver lotus thingy).
nah thanks. i play games for the sense of adventure, getting away from everyday life.
i dont play them to do things i normally do at work ( maximize your efficiency! work faster! use the preset rotations! etc.)
i play for a bit of fun, not to have another job outside of my daytime job.
unfortunately tera has only that left to offer.
nothing there outside the "3 dungeon-JOB".
probably (maybe) bdo will be like that in the future for me too ( i'm not endgame in there yet) but for now i have plenty , PLENTY of new things to do and new places to go.
-
*(logs in to bdo)*
p.s. they also fix stuff ( for real)
-
as far as i remember these kd quests are affected by your gear.
get low gear ( about or under the level requirements of the dungeon, and you will stand a much better chance ( though it still might not work the first time(s)).
-
what unca donald said, its empty in terms of activities, it doesnt lack players; it lacks content. i just decided to uninstall so there. back to bdo where there is content a plenty.
-
well the current state of tera for me is non-existent now.
i uninstalled and went back ( and glad i did) to BDO.
i find there what tera has been missing for years.
-a world to explore (land and sea)
-zones to fear going into
-a ton of different activities
-a sense of adventure
-costumes that fit
-a straight up shop without rng
but thats my opinion.

-
if its gonna be anything like exodor it's future looks bleak.
-
lvl 75
nice
coming soon then?

i was hoping this unique opportunity of something happening in the open world ( how long ago was that?) would have us looking all over the world for it, and have the time and effort spent rewarded with a tough fight on a unique boss that gave nice rewards in the end.
with a little edge for people that actually know the map maybe.
but its just another version of get tokens in dungeons exchange for blabla.
as far as i can tell* we need to form a group, kill the boss (two hits?), hope nobody steals the loot, and hope we are the one in the group that gets the reward. then back to lather-rinse-repeat.
dissappointed. but getting used to it.
* as far as i can tell cos we have been given ZERO information
-
more choice/variation/level differences in dungeons? yes please.
nexus 1? yes, lovely chaos.
nexus 2? no. remember how people could steal last hit and get the good loot by using one skill at the right time? rubbish ego-mechanism.
not going to happen though, its like asking for classic tera back ( 60(?)+ pages on forum).
too few people would run those anyway, they need to keep up the ultra-efficiency daily on 20 chars and will have no time or resources to waste on just fun.
thats not what games are for.

all very interesting.(no sarcasm)unfortunately in any calculation there will be missing facts of the kind that businesses will not publish for various reasons.
for example they might have a "hidden" factor that increases chance after having spent an x amount of cash so as to have a balance between "we will take as much money as we can from you" and the player's toleration upon accepting failures untill getting the desired result versus the part of ragequitting and never spending a dime on the game anymore.
this leaves us with incomplete calculations because it lacks certain values/factors.
especially when programmed, an RNG's randomness can be manipulated in many ways.
so in conclusion it still seems to me the best way to approach this is to get what you can, enhance chances by shopping and/or farming, and, mainly: dont worry about it.
-
it works much better when you view it differently.
a 10% chance to succeed is the same as a 90% chance to fail.
(yes i am a glass half empty man, but you can never convince me 10% is half full.)
the best advice has already been given: it is RNG. might get it in 1, might not get it in 100 tries. just luck.

answer from support:
I get that you are facing an issue with the mini-map location lock as when you log out the map doesn't stay in the same place. The referenced error is due to the Interface Panel in TERA, there are two options to reset this back to default:
In TERA:
Click O in the game, in order to display the Options.Selection the Menu Item InterfaceClick on Reset UI scale and on Reset UI positionOr before logging into TERA:
Search for the following folder within the installed TERA folder: TERA\Client\S1Game\Config Delete all files in this folder starting with: S1Then start TERA, all the settings should be reset and the problem should be resolved.since the previously posted solution works for me, i havent tried this. it is not broke for me now so i am not going to fix it. also because im not looking forward to resetting all my personal settings, which i assume will all be reset.
hope it offers a solution for anyone still having this issue anyway.
-
the solution, or rather A solution to the problem of locking minimap location is...
drumrolls..... DONT USE LOCK.
it stays in place if you dont lock it.
lmao.
credit to sunny for the/a solution

my bad then...

was too quick to judge.
its cos i seen that discussion too many times and the arguments used are mostly just plain dumb. so i can comment too soon (in anger), and like here, miss the actual point.
mijn excuses daarvoor.

well since nobody in game gives a ^%$# about anything unless it affects their greatness in combat i submitted a ticket to support.
will keep you posted as to the results.
