In a pure and fair 20 vs 20 Shakan would win.

PURE and FAIR 20 vs 20? I suspect a tiny typo slipped in there, you meant Seren vs Yurian right?

ps: was pretty hilarious watching Atmorph trying to sell that battle arena as fun content to play...

But wasn't that dueling gameplay the best pvp content we've had in a Tera stream so far since they started doing them actually ?

only 20 people PER faction can participate in alliance

Should not be called alliance but coding contest then.

people who do the main quest are invicible to other players attack

Let's not finish the quest, what's the worst that could happen, we don't want to get into the arena dungeon anyways, better get invincibility and farm those outlaw quest completing pve nerds, ez gg.

a new title "king of outlaws" shiny yellow (200 000 points)

Because outlaw is something that should be encouraged and not give infamy or be seen as something punishing at all.

Let's also help new users and make a new cash shop event while we're at it! We can use the outlaw skill as an icon for the event's token, everyone's gonna love it.

However, as far as I know, quite a few players who exploited this vulnerability in any way received appropriate penalties.

Is that so? May you give us some examples without providing actual names or sentences that may get you banned from explaining? It would also help to know in which servers and time this happened.

Because sadly not all of us are aware of this.

Let me share some insight on the very interesting discussions ongoing about the current events,

Hello everyone, I would like to add a small note related to your discussion.

Please be aware that we have already taken actions against numerous accounts that were a part of the recent exploit in all servers. However, this is an ongoing battle that did not end yet, as we will keep investigating the situation and banning more accounts that were a part of it.

As harsh as this may come across, if you didn't mention it, these actions may have been seen as insufficient or practically nonexistant by the community.

The fact you mention "recent", even if it's just for relevancy, makes me question what happened to the non recent ones, but I'd like to believe those are being tackled as well.

As compared to the previously posted announcement on the korean community all we have is your word for it, with no way to quantify the dimension of that ban whatsoever, with numerous being a RNG between 2 and the total playerbase.

However, I do believe taking actions is a step on the right direction and I will keep up with any battlefield report updates provided which are MUCH welcome.

i understand its an ongoing battle and we as players might not realize the numerous problems you encounter in your position as game managers.

I'm also experienced in the customer service area and players want real solutions to the trouble they are experiencing, as fast as possible, being there as many solutions as there are players.

It's not an easy job, so it's good that the playerbase can be reasonable about the associated limitations to some extent, yet I don't think anyone is being forced to do it and as with any other job I hope it has its perks to compensate for it.

Best solution would be to roll back to Heroic Oath gear.
    - No RNG rolls
    - No damaged gear
    - No downgrades

    - No tradeable gear which destroys market

I fully agree with the 4 lines above. As for me the best solution would be going back to "Nightforge VM2 like gearing system" which I relate to gating BiS gear behind a difficult to clear HM dungeon, where every player has to perform or the dungeon isn't cleared.

Optionally a training or normal mode dungeon for it could be added. Or even an extreme one with mounts or Highwatch statues to show off.

This system is however not perfect at all. Let me mention some possible downsides to it and see if you find any way to address them:

-This system still doesn't prevent exploiters from cheating the dungeon
-BiS content becomes more difficult, if not impossible and unaccessible to obtain for the major part of the playerbase, creating elitism

-In the case someone either belongs to that elite or is a cheater they could make runs to gear p2w players, which may or may not be an intended gear progression for the patch

Even with that I believe BiS gear should be provided as part of an endgame min maxing experience for hardcore parties looking for a challenge. While having a medium gear set at the same time, letting people enjoy and clear the dungeons with their friends in a more casual environment and still allowing them to make some gold to spend on costumes as an example or having the requirements to clear the HM one and step up to the top.

As for now the difficulty of BiS comes from an inflated market and the mother of all RNGs which I think deducts from what could have been an otherwise adequate game progression and motivation for people to play, improve and enjoy the game.

When even grinding like a zombie fails, proving you're either good at cashing in, casino or brokering being the main mechanic of a MMORPG doesn't seem fully related to the concept of action combat.

I prefer dont play a dead game, then play with cheaters. Thats the reason for example i will never join any of the big guilds at mystel. They all just recruite for mass to win CU. They dont care what kind of ppl they protect.

I have to say I find it really noble that you choose your actions to try to abide by your moral standards as much as possible and I respect you for this.

However, please consider where are you drawing the line and if the solutions you provide are useful and realistic.

As a player of a small guild in Mystel you do play Civil Unrest allying sometimes with bigger guilds, so you kind of participate on this broken system and in the end also end up playing alongside cheaters.

You did not uninstall the game so despite your preferences as of now you're literally playing with cheaters too, which doesn't necessarily mean that you support them at all, just you can't do otherwise if you want to play the game even if you do it in a 100% fair manner yourself. And it's not fair you're not allowed to play a game just because some people cheat in it.

Sadly deep down you know you are not given much of a choice to begin with.

As long as you're playing pvp in this game besides dueling, deathmatch and other user organized events, the number of cheaters is so high that you're most likely to play with them or to not play pvp at all.

Just because of numbers of people cheating in the game, if any of the big guilds in Mystel kick cheaters as you suggest (with important note: cheaters here referring to anyone not playing the vanilla version of the game) then there would be no big guilds whatsoever.

You can't make a big guild without including "cheaters" because simply as of now there is not a big enough playerbase interested in, or I'd say more ABLE to play pvp clean in this game any longer, with reasons already discussed in countless posts often leading to bans in the forums.

Let's assume by some set of events, people still decide that what you said is the right way to proceed about it and kick cheaters. The immediate consequences to expect are all zerg guild as of the ones currently playing in Mystel destroyed, no exception.

Many people becoming unable to play Civil Unrest at all, risking the possible death of it plus the cheaters still free around to cheat entering either on their own or through any other guild as they are also free to make their own.

Dealing the final blow to the game to kill the problem is as easy a way out as cheating is.

Tell us one known person who lost his char and items.

Personally i wanted to send a ticket to support to report all the known ppl and ways they exploited but i find it pointless.

    You will not do ANYTHING.

First of all I'd have concerns about privacy and stigma regarding bans, which may lead to trouble in case any ban happens to be unfair, which is unfortunately not an impossible happening.

On the other hand, I fully agree with you on this as I do not perceive how implementing a working solution to the current level of cheating is possible at all any longer. I'd appreciate if someone could enlighten me as in how to do it.

I'd also like to contribute to change this situation and if I knew I could report someone for cheating and their account would get banned within a couple of working days, then I'd have a reason to report. Because even if they can make a new one, then cheaters would perceive the community doesn't welcome those actions.

But why should I report anyone cheating if I perceive the actions on it are not going to be enough at all? The system is not effective and delivers no message.

I'd spend more time reporting than playing the game for solutions not to be implemented and make a clown out of myself so I agree on it being pointless. Working for nothing even if a noble goal, doesn't seem to be the right thing either.

The only ppl who have real reasons to wear perfect gear are pvp people.

As a pvp player, I have to disagree with this.

That a pve/pvx or any other player wants to max out their gear possibilities, doesn't mean they have to be mean to the rest of the community, quite the opposite.

It could be a motivation to keep playing the game to state just one of the other multiple valid reasons to play. Challenging yourself, being able to effectively help other players, clearing content faster and easier to access better earnings to gift to friends or get costumes, alts or any other desired progression are also examples.

Other than dungeons there is nothing else to do.

Tera has reached a stage where it seems to be pushing people to either cash in or run dungeons for rewards; while pvp and open world content come on a second place besides events.

Then as you may know already, run Macellarius Catacombs if you want to level up faster and do guardians in the meantime.

Preferably with buffs that you can get from broker. It takes about 40 runs to reach max level and you can get some achievements meanwhile.

About the level up event, it's just getting rewards for leveling up, you can check those out in their google calendar in the LevelUP Event sheet.

This was posted it in the launcher news.

Hope you enjoyed the journey and good luck on your next adventures.

It would be nice if we could see more efficient communication between the community, the publishers and developers from now on. There's still a long way to go.

I'd say rather than PvE or PvP, many people were driven to Tera because of the combat system, even with the multiple desyncs and flaws it's usually an enjoyable experience.

I wish we had guild castles back. I don't think those were used to its full potential and they could help spice up GvG competition.

That being said, how long do you think it's reasonable to wait until we get an official reply on this GvG question? A working day? A week? A month?

Unsure if pinging CMs would be the right way to proceed about this, but it looks like posts often go unnoticed for too long without any feedback.

Meanwhile as a pvp player, I sit like a mighty dragon on a pile of reset coins and scrolls that I get from events and from occasional low dungeon runs with first timers.

I have a ridiculous amount of entries that I don't even use at all and I can't trade to pve players who would actually use them.

If entries/coins were tradable maybe I would be able to make some gold to enchant my pvp gear or gift them to friends/help my guild progress.

Since not everybody runs the same dungeons, this could help many people advance faster ingame, including beginners and returning players that could help endgame players achieve their goals and vice versa.

    Good morning all,

our team is investigating the issue. Keep us updated here if you are still having problems. Please mention, as you already did earlier, the servers you are referring to.

Reporting from server Mystel, wednesday 27/05/2020 this time the lag was happening overall again, inside and outside instanced content. Detected lag in multiple places such as Highwatch, Cutthroat Harbor and Kumas royale.

Multiple users reported the server lag on game channels such as party and global at evening and night time.

After witnessing several kumas teleporting beyond jump capabilities and being unable to move, it was clear this was not a user made joke and people were indeed lagging severely as well.

This case was very similar to previous cases of lag happening about 2 patches ago.

Edit: Additional information the lag consisted of several ping spikes ranging from yellow to red ping happening every minute or more often. Picture showing a red ping spike captured yesterday as well as some player's appreciations on it attached.

In any case to evaluate these changes, it may be nice to conduct some sort of testing, as for now most of the posts I see including mine's are based on personal game experience which differs from user to user.

I don't know if anything like this has been done before and made publicly available for people to check.

For example one test could be getting level 70 of each class in a duel vs the same user both with +0 pvp gear and checking the raw damage of each skill.

Take into account this is just an example and real tests would have to be tailored towards the data you want to obtain. Also the personal experience of users can help us decide which things would be interesting to test.

Please be respectful to each other, it's a larger playerbase for both sides, communication may not be easy but let's get on well and enjoy the game

I think this thread was meant as a presentation, so again both sides should show a respectful attitude and collaborate if we want this to go in the right direction.

In the forums you may get a ban for language related posts in the wrong section, this has happened before.

Because of the above mentioned if you want to post in a section with a different language I recommend using a translator or asking a friend.

Alternatively if from now on you see someone posting in a wrong section you can point them to the right one kindly, no need to be rude.

    Welcome to EU

Tbh a bit of the charm of a MMORPG vs that of a MOBA is open world content, what about outlaw? alliance? civil unrest? GvGs...with castles? PvP shouldn't be restricted to instanced content, though I agree battlegrounds would definitely benefit from more activity.

Nobody is going to comment on the part where gathering and crafting get killed? This game becomes more of a dungeon grinder simulator by the day it's so sad.

For example archer main skill in combat is radiant arrow where i have to aim and deal round about 40k dmg while slayer or warrior dont realy need to aim and dealing with their main skills like 70-80k in a circle around them of 5-10meters additional to the fact, that they have an higher mobility to any other class.

Well it's not comparable tbh but backstab can fail if not aimed properly.

However slayer or warrior are melee classes, which exposes them to damage in close combat, they have to rely on dodge/block/pressure, while archer has the advantage of distance to keep safety. If anything, indeed they have crazy mobility for melees.

Imagine dealing the same damage in a scenario where you're unreachable like sorc, this has to come at a risk/penalty/cost, in sorc's case it's a "paper defense". Also some archer traps have the advantage of invisibility, so opponents have to pay more attention.

Maybe the guaranteed back crit skill could be reworked to give that extra damage.

As for slayer I think the non stagger part should stay, though I'm not sure for how long a slayer's tenacity lasts and its cd.

I'd give valk increased cooldown rather than skill removal for self heal.

Well you ask for balance, something I have never seen in the game since I started playing it (around f2p release time).

Take into account whichever change is made has to work for duels, battlegrounds and civil unrest situations. Which may be very different scenarios.

It seems extremely difficult to achieve. To begin with pve and pvp damage should work separately, either that or equal the players hp to that of the bosses.

In no case should pve gear be better than pvp gear for pvp (and the other way around). If there is going to be a better gear through pve, then the full concept of pvp gear is pointless because it costs way too much for a mid tier set. Needless to say having to combine both for pvp is even worse.

The game already has too many stats distributed anywhere and everywhere. To balance pvp first of all you need to take into account:

    -Level

We have "Unified gear" battlegrounds without level equalization, to begin with characters should get level 70 if we want a fair chance for all. However if you do so, progressing towards level up loses a bit of its meaning.

    -Skill EP

You can not have a custom template for pvp and another for pve, this may inconvenience people who want to do both, resetting ep everytime you do a dungeon/battleground is beyond a joke.

    -Glyphs

This one may be a bit unfair for players who don't get the chance to do the new apex quest for free glyphs. It's up to the player here to use this properly so this should be the only balanced one atm, still it can be bothersome for beginners adding some disparity.

    -Skill Advancements

Same discussion as with level, they should be unlocked upon entering battlegrounds.

The big broken thing, as if having skills broken into skills, advancements, ep and glyphs was not annoying enough they are a huge gold and time sink which may discourage people from playing on alts and make a big difference between new(non p2w) and long time players, as if experience was not enough.

    -Latency disparity

    -Consumables

    -Cheats

Some stuff we shouldn't mention on forum and report directly to support instead.

-And some other stuff I may be forgetting about right now such as skill (who spams spacebar faster and harder).

Then again some may want to consider that if you "equalize all" without effort then there is no point in progressing. However, take into account that in that case you're not favoring balance.

This may be an acceptable level of unbalance if it's up to the player to step up to the progression within a reasonable amount of time before the next patch.

If you made it this far then you can actually start talking about class and gear balance.

Nerfing everything seems ineffective as then you get to the same point where you have skills for basically nothing. If anything make the cooldowns longer so they actually have to be used wisely. At worst you can apply class specific buffs/debuffs upon entering battlegrounds/civil unrest same way as they are applied in pve instances.

Gear enchantment in general should always show the enchant rate for the gear to begin with. As for pvp they should either increase the success rate, nerf it but not make it downgrade or make regular (at least monthly) events for it. However giving everyone +9 for free wouldn't be much different than having unified gear battlegrounds.

Or have an actual real progression system exclusively through pvp.

One extremely good example is Beserker Class and its skills.

Cyclone: Remove Stagger/CC/Pulls etc. Similar to how brawler punch>punch>punch>counter works.

The way cyclone is now, its stagger is able to lock everyone in an aoe over a period longer than most stuns and literally one-shot most classes in that one skill.
I have 12ms as I live close to the server, and I cannot move out of cyclone when it catches me. It has happened in both equalized and non equalized instances. I do not use ping compensation or any modules.

Tenacity: remove ability to stagger, and stagger people out of iframes.

As a berserker player many players can move out of my cyclone when it catches them, in both instances, not using anything here either, so I believe this one may be on your end. I can also escape from other berserkers' cyclones if I play properly.

Contrary to popular belief the cyclone reset is not one button press. For it to "one shot" it has to be buffed and upgraded conveniently, reseted at the right speed and the opponent has to cast nothing to get out of it. So it is pretty much counterable unless you either got latency issues or no idea as of how to, there's more than a way to escape alive. If anything you could argue about the damage but given what other classes have I wouldn't nerf.

Berserker should be reworked to be able to act as a tank in pvp too, same for warrior.

Removing what you ask would not be balance considering the huge CC other classes have in mass pvp and would just be nerfing berserker for no reason whatsoever. Moreover, you can argue about mocking shout being a separate skill once again, but you shouldn't remove it either for the same reason.

i still say the pvp weapons should get all procs unlocked at level zero and only gain raw stats from leveling up...would massivly reduce how salty people who have spent the last 9+ months wasting millions off gold to sit forever at +6 would feel

I don't think those who wasted millions for it would be okay with that though, but who knows.

Actually never used a fishbot, fishing is not everything but it was a nice alternative to make gold with few effort and entry requirements.

This is why it was very convenient and the rewards for higher effort content were generous as well so it didn't conflict it, instead it was a nice complement. For instance, I'm sad the frog minigame won't pop more frequently, but that one was also abusable so again "better than nothing".

Sad that this game became heavily dungeon focused gradually neglecting open world content. Playing this game before reaper release and mostly for the pvp part of it, I was glad I could earn gold while queueing for other content or just chilling.

My desired game progression is not grinding the same dungeon of the patch for hours, days and weeks. As for those who like that, good for you enjoy it while you can, just not my cup of tea or the way I think the game should be played.

Before complaining, ask yourselves what would be better between:

    1) Not doing anything at all;

    2) Doing something that impacts negatively a small part of the community and the game itself, while at the same time it puts a stop one of the biggest problem of tera.

Better doesn't mean it's good or acceptable to begin with. Of course if they are doing something that is directly negative towards users, they will complain about it. Even if it's lesser it's still an evil and therefore not welcome.

For instance, this change benefits me in nothing. I keep getting content I enjoy removed, first of all pvp server, now fishing and Civil Unrest. In all honesty, I'm more negatively affected by these changes than I would be by 1) so do not expect me to applaud them for being harmful.

Sure botting situation seems to be getting better, for which I'm glad. At least I can be happy that someone benefits from this, but the cost is high. That doesn't aid my progression end of the day so I'd rather have an actual working fix for the loss of benefits instead.

What they did right now is a good fix.

This is debatable. However if removing things in game is considered a good fix, I suggest they apply a good fix to every dungeon in instance matching. After all Tera's playerbase is a small part of the community of people who play Gameforge's games.
