    Sorry for late reply. I saw your screenshots earlier. I'm quite impressed but did you turn off the shadow? And whats your AA setting again? Ah, also, i don't recommend oc your gpu to 4ghz.

    I tried this fix and can say it improved character responsiveness and FPS by some 10-20 in low populated questing areas.
    In town my FPS is still ~30 around a bunch of other players, I'm guessing this is the limitation for my CPU(4core@2,7ghz) and would potentially improve with OC.
    The graphics take a little hit with these settings but it's nothing you wouldn't pay for a smoother game experience.

    All in all, it's worth it if you need a little fps increase. In addition I would like to see a detailed AMD tweak/settings guide.

    Any chance you are a AMD user?
    May i know your specs?

    NOTE : Any chance you also did the Anti-aliasing setting? You could just leave that off for quite a boost in exchange of aliased graphics.

    remember to change CPUNumLogicalProcessors= to the desire one.

    If you dont mind a poorer lighthing, you can change the following to FALSE for a superb boost :-
    -DynamicLights=
    -DynamicShadows=
    -LensFlares=
    -DepthOfField=
    -Bloom=
    -Distortion=

    My Lappy Spec are Following:-
    Intel Core-i5 3210m @ 2.89Ghz
    4048MB (3911MB Usable) DDR3 1600Mhz - 4gb vRam - 7.9Gb Total
    2.5″ SATA 500GB 5400rpm *465GB usable though -_-*
    nVidia Geforce 645m DDR3 2048GB 128bit @ 780/900 (undervolted for temperature problem)

    nVidiaInspector setting:-
    Antialiasing compatibility : 0x000010C1
    Antialiasing fix : on

    Antialiasing - Behaviour : None
    Antialiasing - Mode : Override and application setting
    Antialiasing - Setting : 2x [2 Multisampling] (MSAA)
    Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling : 2x Sparse Grid Supersampling (SGSAA)

    Texture filtering - Quality : Performance

    Ambient Occlusion setting : Performance
    Ambient Occlusion usage : Enabled
    Maximum pre-rendered frames : 3
    Vertical Sync : Force Off

    In-game Settings are:-
    Effect level : 5
    Lurid Display : 2

    Texture Resolution : 1 (you can change to 2 if you have higher ram and gpu's than me)

    PC View Distance : 1 (varies on your view needed)
    Character : 0 ( it would only increase the polygon of the character and you are not playing with maxed zoom)
    Shadow : 4

    Distal Environment Detail : 1
    Landscape : 1
    Aerial : 2

    Effect Distance : 1
    Background Quality : 2
    Background Distance : 1
    Travel Effect : On

    Lightning Enrichment : 0 (oh please ==)
    Real-time Optimization : 0 (ohhh please -_-)

    I get no less than 30fps+ in everywhere, i hope it helps.

    the yellow fps was FRAPS.

    That works because the UI is bottlenecking your CPU... so.. truly said, OC is the only choice. but i wonder, my spec was:
    Intel Core i5 3210m @2.5Ghz
    4Gb RAM 1600 Mhz
    500GB 5400RPM
    GeForce GT645M DDR3 2GB

    i can get 40~60 in Velika, 20~40 in CS

    Resolution was 1366x768 setting almost maxed.

    Hmm, ive already meet many ppl who uses the same processor as you and they have the same problem
    okay, do you know where to set your Flip Queue Size? set it to 1 force VSync and Triple Buffering on

    For the setting inside tera, you can choose yourself but lightning enhancement never >1 and realtime optimization stay at 0

    also try use this one at the attatchment

    ah also remember to update your flashplayer and shockwave player and make them have a space reserved for tera.

    have amd phenom II x4 radeon 5750...game lags like he.l.l. in battlegrounds :D 15 fps max :D
    turned off ui had 70 fps :DDDDDD

    tried everything on the forum for fps fix..nothing help :D
    hope they will fix UI , i like this game but...if i cant play it properly ... kinda lame to leave after 10 days of playing it and i like it so much.... :/

    (and i am not the only one...95% ppl qq about fps..i dont know why that problem haven't been fixed already...)

    Can i have your copy of S1Engine, your computer spec, setting and resolution u used in TERA and setting u used on the graphic driver?

    thats for laptops who have dual gpu. you dont have because you are a desktop.

    Ye i have
    done all of that.. in open area max 40 fps. in city around 25-30, instances around 15-25 fps but better than before. was Trying to work with in-game settings cus some of them when i lowered them gave me lower fps than on high so did best i could with that aswell. Resolution is 1440x900

    Make sure the Lightning Enhanement never over 1 and Real-time Optimization always at 0
    My setting is almost max, distance based setting all -1 lighting enhancement 1 realtime 0
    Set them to your card capability

    some tweeks for ati graphic users??
    i am getting around 8-40 fps depend on place and fight i am taking... doing all here didint help me very much...

    my spec:
    ati radeon 6800HD
    Athlon II x3 3.3ghz
    16gb Ram (1333 Mhz )

    You can try changing the Flip Queue Size value to 1
    I have no idea where is it sorry because i dont own an ati card.
    Also, in S1Engine, search for few things.
    1.DisableATITextureFilterOptimizationChecks=True to False
    2.MotionBlur=True to False
    3.UseHighQualityBloom=True to False
    4.MaxShadowResolution=2048 to 1024 or 768
    5.CPUNumLogicalProcessors=? to 3(because ur cpu have 3 cores)

    and may i knwo what setting and resolution u use in tera?

    Yes i know that. What i meant was, that command has been mentioned in the previous threads as well where you add the command in the ini file so it's pretty much the same thing.

    Read the quote below from this thread.

    Hmm... seems logic. But i think telling it that we have how many processor and force it to use all processor is different?

    i dont think it really works tho, standing still in an enviorment can change the fps, so the 10 fps difference in your screenshot can be inaccurate, and, since tera is badly optimized, the usage of cpu will jump even if you dont do anything. so i would love some more research to make me satisfied. i think its just placebo-effect.

    Nope, if you Alt+Tab, TERA would not eat your CPU usage.

    For your info, my spec was the following and its a laptop
    Intel Core i5-3210m, 2.5ghz
    4GB RAM 1600Mhz
    500GB HDD 5400RPM
    nVidia Geforce GT645m DDR3 2GB(downclocked due to temperature issue)
    Window 8

    and the setting in TERA was all maxed but 1 on lightning enhancement and 0 realtime optimization.
    Played on 1366x768 and i can get around 35+-10~15 max 50 min 23 fps during CS.

    Actually the line to add in shortcut has no effect on the game whatsoever as you're adding that line to the launcher and not the exe of the game.

    It does, commands will effect all the application or service that open by the inserted one.

    Could you tell me how these settings improved your fps?

    for the 1st one, -USEALLAVAILABLECORES, actually im not very sure if it works just, after i used that, my tera shows me running on 4 cores on 70%~90% each. Also, for this to work, you need to unpark all your cores. Next, ive made some changed in the S1Engine like:
    bSmoothFrameRate=FALSE
    FOVAngle=60.000000
    MotionBlur=False
    MaxShadowResolution=(according to your GPU capability)
    CPUNumLogicalProcessors=4
    bEnableMouseSmoothing=false (in S1Input)

    Third,because TERA is a CPU bottleneck game, i reduced the max pre-rendered frame or flip queue size in ati to 1 to lessen the burden to the CPU. And to compesate this, ive lower the texture graphic to avoid the GPU on bottleneck.
    because i use a laptop to play(without a cooler) my temp was 80+on CPU and 70+ on GPU

    Im not very sure about all of this but i think it works. The UI Performance Bug doesnt kill me so much after i use this.

    Hi all,

    After a few weeks of research, i finally found out some solution to have a fix of the FPS issue.

    First and foremost, from my research, TERA only runs with 2 cores and TERA is running on UnrealEngine scripts.
    So, i have some solution to it:-
    1. Go to your TERA shortcut or create it if you don't have it.
    2. At the Shortcut tab, look for Target. It usually looks like this C:\Program Files(x86)\TERA\TERA-Launcher.exe
    3. Add the following commands after the target directory: -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
    4. It should look like this,: [C:\Program Files(x86)\TERA\TERA-Launcher.exe -USEALLAVAILABLECORES]
    5. Remember there is a space between the directory and the command.

    For this step, it enables the system to force TERA to use all the cores avaiable. BUT, in some case, come computers core are parked which means it would'nt be use if your cpu usage doesnt bottlenecks. This can heavily affects your CPU performance.

    To fix this, you need this tool: http://bitsum.com/files/parkcontroldist64.exe For 64-bit OS
    : http://bitsum.com/files/parkcontroldist32.exe For 32-bit OS

    Easily open the App and unpark the cores and make sure you are in the correct power profile.
    However, i wont be responsible for any damage of hardware because core parking is designed to lower the CPU temperature.
    By disabling it, naturaly the temperature will rise. So please use at your own risk.

    Then, to the setting of S1Engine.
    It would be too many of things to write so i will just post mine at the attachment.
    If you would like to use please kindly make a backup of yours first. Thank you.

    Also, for ATI GPU users, im sorry but i dont use ATI card so i would'nt know how it perform.
    But for nVidia GPU users, i need you to get this app : http://www.guru3d.com/files_ge…inspector_download,1.html

    I'm not asking for OverClocking but only some driver settings. Ah, also remember to get the latest driver.
    So, Go to the application setting available in there(its a screwdriver liked icon), and select TERA's profile.
    For lower-end PC or laptops which im currently using,
    Go for these setting:

    [Texture Filtering]
    Texture filtering - Quality = High performance
    Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization = Off

    [Common]
    Maximum pre-rendered frames = 1
    Threaded optimization = On
    Triple buffering = On
    Vertical Sync Smooth AFR behavior = On
    Vertical Sync Tear Control = Adaptive
    Vertical Sync = On

    It is an open secret that TERA is said as a CPU bottleneck game.
    So, for this setting, we made max pre-rendered frames at 1 because the pre-rendered frames are rendered by CPU.
    And the texture setted to high performance because some GPU might not able to do all the rendering work by itself.

    Oh ya, do not touch the video setting in the game, i will revert all back to the original. Restart TERa after making any changes.

    In a nutshell, i will be continueing my research on this and please do not hasitate to post any inqueries at this post.
    Thank you.
