lol they actually have some beta tester "volunteers" but all they do is practice the dungeons on test server so they can clear it faster on live one, or test drop rates and stuff for own benefit, they don't really care about any of the PvP lmfao.

I don't have the roster of these testers, but it's a bunch of bootlicker germans who only play PvE and care about attention from the PvE/discord community

a game needs money to run, so:

    p2w has advantages.

    f2p have disadvantages.

    low effort troll, man...

This shitty f2p/p2w business model is why TERA is so dead compared to older games like WoW and FFXIV...

And dare anyone tell me that it works for TERA and that TERA is not dead, they need to log in for a day to those OLDER mmos and see how active they are, after all these years, WHILE being B2P at the same time.

Oh boy, you are coming back to a shipwreck.

First of all, Gameforge has a different business system, it's more similar to "lootbox" system from other games, you are supposed to buy expensive boxes/spinwheels and try your luck, of course the drop rate for the good costumes is low, you normally just get bravery potions, fashion coupons or other trash... Keep trying, throw more money at Gameforge!

About the fashion coupons, just buy the other fashion coupons and use those normally, the conversion ratio is 1:1, only their (useless) rarity and item ID changes. They messed something up big time so now you have to do this everytime. Business as usual, don't expect a fix :)

You might be right, still scaring potential new players doesn't help the game.

Unless we are talking about kids aged 2-10 years old, the truth should not be hidden, even if it's scary. Grownups can normally handle it.

And what "helps the game" is only secondary after what helps the individual player or non player to have a better understanding of things, thus becoming able to make better choices in his life. This is another reason to state the facts and not hide them in a selfish manner to keep the game we are so addicted to alive and running for a bit longer.

We spent 6 posts in this same page talking about how p2w is the wrong definition and how stupid it is to drive new players away just because you grew bored of it and here we go again.

Or it's maybe you who don't know the definition of P2W.

Almost everything else than untradable cosmetics can and will give you advantage over someone who doesn't pay anything. It's not strictly about things non payers literally can't achieve, it's very much about paying to progress faster than someone who can't or doesn't want to spend their money on the game, thus achieving an advantage over them -> paying "to win".

You're the 3rd problem of this game, in order:

    1) Krafton

    2) GF

    3) Toxic community

Where are whiteknights like you on the list?

    P2W is not correct.
The game is completely playable without spending money, you'll just need more time.

I've managed to +15 my main char with "decent" rolls on most of the gear ( jewelry included ) and the only thing i've spent for is one TC sub.

It took around 2 months playing mostly Tera and little other games so it's not impossible to do.
If you don't like the enchant system you can easily find +15 stuff for sale.

I'd say stay away if you don't like to grind for stuff, but the game can't be considered p2Win.

So you paid to win too. You paid for Tera Club. Now try to do the same thing without TC, probably would've taken 4 months.

The more you pay, the faster you get the good stuff. You literally pay to win in that case.

And the +15 for sale costs like 7-9 mill gold. Don't tell me you can earn that amount of gold by not spending a dime on the game.

    Hello,

As the title says, i'm curious if there is any players left on the server.

I played this game for a few months like 1-2 years ago.

Is it worth comming back? I'm a little tired of P2W games, so 15$ a month is not a big deal.

    Thank you.

No, in its current state I would not recommend. 1-2 years ago it was much better, much less P2W than now. If you are tired of P2W games, this is not the right place for you, I can tell you that much.

If you don't mind subscriptions, go play WoW or FFXIV. Much better, healthy, non p2w games with a monthly subscription fee, somewhere around that pricetag.

God, don't do this google translate stuff. It's cringy as hell, especially considering OP posted in English as well.

You get +10 scrolls for armor pieces and +7 for weapon.
A bunch of advancement scrolls to upgrade skills and some rapid XP potion to level up 70 quickly.

    It's quite good actually.

When I logged in after so many years I was greeted by this "Returning Hero" popup, I clicked it and it spawned a guardian box and maybe some crystal box in my inventory, which I found laughable... Where can I read about this +10 and +7 scroll? What gear are they usable for?

It's sad to think about how great this game was in 2012-2014, how much potential it had for the future, but every single patch made the game worse and worse due to absolutely illogical and straight out retarded decisions from our dear korean developers.

I don't know who have they been listening to all this year for advices, probably the Korean PC café and basement dwellers who don't have a life and probably either grind their lives away without ever going outside, or inherited a lot of money from rich parents so they can swipe their credit cards every patch.

The western audience isn't like that, we like to have our normal lives and just chill in video games for the social aspect mainly, be it PvE Cooperation or PvP challenging, we don't like to grind 8 hours a day like the koreans do in every single MMO they play.

Tera in 2012 was much closer to the style that western people liked, and to this day, every single patch was drifting away from it towards the korean dystopia.

And then you wonder why so many people here want a "Classic server". This is why, in a nutshell.
