    Hello,

Playing a gunner I find them to be in the position that berserkers were in ages ago. Remember when berserkers had to build up MP pre-fight to use their skills using 'sacrifice'? At some point this got patched to berserkers just starting with full mp and removing the sacrifice skill.

Now gunners are basically in the same boat, to get full willpower you have to do the following pre-fight:

bombardment > roll to interrupt it but get the 'one with the gun' buff > replenish > replenish > replenish (and 3 more replenishes after that).

Seems to me that it is a bit silly, it's a repetitive and boring thing to do before a fight. Requires no skill - so why not just simplify it to have gunners regenerate 250 willpower every 5 seconds or so when out of combat? Doesn't change the balance of anything, gunners don't have to do press a bunch of buttons before a fight - parties don't have to wait for the 6th replenish - everyone wins.

    Hello,

I have a very confusing bug. My mouse, which is a Roccat Tyon utilises game controller drivers and thus is picked up by Tera as a gamepad/game controller - this is however not the issue. The issue is that Tera after playing it for a while starts freezing up the entire PC, removing and reinserting the mouses USB plug fixes this issue.

I know how strange this sounds, but to confirm.

    • This issue happens in Tera and Tera only - no other game or windows itself ever exhibits this behaviour.
    • This is not a heat issue and the freezing up is not caused by thermal throttling
      • CPU temperatures are in the 40s
      • GPU temperatures are in in the 50s (with its fans completely off)
    • This is not a just one PC problem
      • I had this on my old PC - Windows 10 / 16GB of RAM / Intel Core i5 4590S / Radeon R9 290
      • I have this on my new PC - Windows 10 / 16GB of RAM / Ryzen 5 1600-AF / Radeon RX 580

Originally I resorted to restarting the entire game which solves the problem of the PC becoming unresponsive to the point of I can barely move the mouse cursor to the right location to close the game (the longer Tera runs the worse it got).

Trying to investigage what was happening I noticed the "system interrupts" process in Window's task manager had a higher CPU-load as it used to have. After some googling however I found this reddit post and more importantly this response to it:

    Quote

Do you have a controller plugged in? This happens to me when I have any sort of controller plugged into my pc even if I disable the controller detection in options (only with tera of course).

Then it hit me - windows registers my mouse as a controller (it has a little side flipper, that can be used in some games to for example ascend or descend the height in a plane). Next time it happened and my FPS was down to 28 and the cursor was jerking along the screen because it was so unresponsive I unplugged my mouse and immediately my FPS jumped from 28 to 72, plug it back in and cursor movement is as smooth as when just having launched the game.

Now to help towards a possible fix:

I played the game 5-6 years ago and I never had this issue back then with the same mouse and same PC (see 'old PC' above). I think somewhere 2-3-4 years ago when the console versions were being made the controller support they did for that carried over to PC changing how it works and is likely to have caused this issue.

    • Disabling game controller support using the menu in game does not help.
    • Disabling game controller support by editing S1Engine.ini and changing "AllowJoystickInput=1" to "AllowJoystickInput=0" does not help either.

The "new PC" doesn't have the problem to the same degree, I can only assume this is simply due to it having 3 times the CPU threads available compared to the old one (non-hyper threading quad core CPU vs hexacore with SMT).

Although irrelevant but you're likely to ask,

    Software used:

    Windows 10 Pro 64 bits - version 1909 / build 18363.959

    Radeon Software 20.4.2

No weird software is installed that tries to optimize games or anything like that, just the mouse driver software, radeon software and that's it.

    Hardware used:

    CPU: Ryzen 5 1600-AF (basically a slightly slower Ryzen 5 2600)
    RAM: 16GB of Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz DDR4

    SSD: 240GB Kingston M.2 SDD
    GPU: AMD RX 580 - 8GB

    Monitor: Qnix 27" WQHD

Rest: Coolermaster NR400 case with 3 fans (plenty of cooling) and a Sharkoon 500W SFX gold rated power supply (plenty of watts available) and everything connected to a MSI B450M Tomahawk Max motherboard. Oh and the Roccat Tyon mouse / Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 keyboard.

If you're an AMD user you might be best off setting an FPS-cap in Radeon Chill and enabling Radeon Chill in the Radeon Software. Not only does it save you some money on the electricty bill and heat in your PC it can actually reduce the input latency as well.

(edit: Do note the file path in my screenshot doesn't make sense for the 64-bit PTS, I don't have enough diskspace to have it installed)

    chilling-with-tera.png

Laggy AF - yet again. Cancelled club, if club money isn't going towards the servers then why pay?

Like I don't enjoy playing the game as a gunner - it seems especially terrible on gunner where burst fire relies on low ping (bad design btw) instead of going "..........." when holding down the button for all the bullets they go more like ". .. . . . .. . .."

Same amount of bullets, but takes like 4-5 times longer to cast, it's awful.

Several second lag on the chat, 160ms+ on gameplay according to the game itself, feels a lot worse however.

If I used such things I wouldn't need to request a feature that has no need for them them :).

From what I understand the proxy modders have a single button to target the lowest health players within range and cast the heal all in one button press. I don't want to automate the game I just want to streamline the gameplay optionally adding a feature that lets you press less buttons doing the same thing.

Starcraft 2, Heroes of the Storm and LoL are games that have similar options.

Some other games have an optional toggle to enable 'quick casting' - it would be nice to see this in Tera.

For example on lock-on heals (priest/mystic) what this could do is make the selection whilst your holding the button down and casting it on release. This get rids of additional button presses and speeds up the process.

    As it is now:
¹press button > ²release button > ³hover over people > ⁴press button > ⁵release button

    Quik cast enabled:

¹press button > ²hover over people people > ³release button

For some other skills it could work even faster, take the gunner skill "bombardment". At the moment I need to:

¹press button > ²release button > ³move the indicator to the desired location > ⁴press button > ⁵release button

As a somewhat seasoned caster of this particular skill I have no desire to do the whole positioning bit, I know where my crosshair is aiming and thus where the skill will be, quick cast could reduce this to a ¹² process rather than ¹²³⁴⁵. Do note the positioning could still be part of it (¹³²) but if you were to simply tap the button for it you basically perform a ¹² combo instantly casting it.

Do note I'm just giving examples of the skills, there will be many more in the game that could benefit from this.

We have the ancient mighty Flamewynder and Icewynder.
I don't like either, it would be nice to have more options, round out the elements with Earth - a brownish/yellowish one.
Or round out the colours, we got R & B from RGB but no G. A green one would definitely be something I'd want, ancient mighty Toxinwynder? Toxic fumes shooting off it - yes please.

Is anyone else having extremely bad lagspikes recently? Since yesterday a little before midnight the connection to the server for me is awful I'm having some massive lagspikes where in the worst case everything in the game stops moving for like 2 seconds and then the game catches up. (Yes it's latency, fps is fine).
The in game latency indicator shows some spikes up to 800ms - trying to ping what I think is the relevant ip? I get some packets going missing.

I'm playing from the UK (Manchester) with Plusnet as the provider (on the BT network basically).

They did not forget to set it right restart was becouse of that if you think like they do you will see that less boxes is better for them its like less boxes more gold per box and when people run out of gold they go shop buy mount etc and sell it to buy boxes

People buying boxes from other people selling boxes = Gold moves from one person to another. If gold moves instead of gets destroyed then people in general don't run out of it.

So your logic is flawed, if you worded it like less people get boxes thus less spellbind etc is added to the game the more strongboxes they will buy to compensate.. then it would make sense.

Update 2: We increased the spawn rate heavily for a 2nd time now.

Somehow I suspect you're adjusting the wrong value. Boxes are still a rare find, if you find one every 30m you're quite lucky - is this intentional or are we supposed to be finding one every 4m now like we did with the santa event?
It does feel like the spawnrate went up as it went from one box a hour to one box per half hour.. but there aren't enough spawn locations? Once one is found the entire zone seems to not have any for quite a while.

It still feels that even if you quadrupled whatever was increased 'heavily' it would finally reach values where I'd be tempted to spend several hours on it. Thanks for looking into it.

So much for my mount being something different from the rest of the server. Are you waiting with the Christmas outfits till next Christmas? That's the only one I'm looking forward to next to the black magic outfit.

    2. It has a small influence of economy, the price of masterwork/extensive alkahest drops slightly in easter (more like the inflation stopped).

Highly depends on when you look, was more expensive than a week ago when I looked last.
Key prices are also inflating like mad because everyone is buying easter boxes rather than keys.

What people generally expect from events with such a limited number of prices:
    permanent rewards.
    What we got:
    Time limited stuff.

What the community is asking for:
    Masterwork Alkahest, Spellbind, Semi-enigmatic scrolls.
    What we got:
    Bunny ears, Winged Bands.

What we are obviously asking for in this thread:
An event similar to the previous ones, kill stuff, get items (eggs) with a random chance of giving the masterwork alkahest etc mentioned above.
    What we got:

We're doing whatever we can to provide some contests and events from time to time, but we're also limited when it comes to what we actually can provide and can do. Of course we would love to run fantastic in-game events and reward everyone with great prizes, but that's just not possible for us.

    Regards

But hey, we will sell you in our cash shop what you're asking for to add insult to injury:
    The Easter Surprise Box!

It's also bull that you can't implement the event we ask for as you've previously done this and the events are void of any in game text anyway. If you can't copy over the Christmas event then you need to find more capable staff

    Regards,
    Severely disappointed customer.

To help decide people whether they should be doing this event or not, these are at least some of possible items you'll get from it.

    Halloween Cake:
    Master Enigmatic Scroll x1
    Masterwork Alkahest x5
    Refined Alkahest x5
    Alkahest x10
    Greater Power/Keen/Infused/etc Charm x1

    Halloween Candy Basket:
    Firesnap
    Firecracker string
    Scroll of Speed/Carving/Savagery etc x7
    Arunic Panacea x3
    Divine Infusion x3
    Rejuvenation potion x2
    Masks x1
    Crystalbind x1

To sum it up, You can get a Master Enigmatic Scroll.. do it!

Most people just want everything opened everywhere all the time. When a vanarch is doing a bad job at this they aren't and that's pretty much the only thing people will notice.

By the way, can the tax please be set to 1% or none? Seems to be set to the highest possible, that's a lot of money being drained from the Velik economy. When there's a vanarch this is going back into the economy, now it's just disappearing into the void.
