  • General advice & information

    It is time to talk about some important topics that are common across all MMORPGs. First of all, let’s talk about selling and/or buying gold in TERA. Selling and/or buying gold can lead to problems with the in-game economy and unfair advantages over others. We have punished, and we will continue to punish, both gold sellers and gold buyers. Gold sellers often tend to use bots or stolen accounts or credit cards to farm gold. They also tend to ask for account details to transfer gold and therefore steal accounts from other players.


    Account Security
    By no means should you ever enter or share your account password with anyone. This includes fake giveaways or gold seller pages or similar possible fraud pages throughout the web. We will never ask you for your account password, if you want to keep your account safe, please don’t share your password with anyone.
    There are also websites and companies out there, who offer leveling services for MMORPGs. Those often require to share your account details with them. Those companies often tend to use those accounts for gold selling, botting or they simply remove all your valuable items and gold from your characters. We investigate those cases as well, same goes for players who tend to sell their accounts on different platforms. All those things can results in permanent account bans as well.
    That being said, we want to point out that we have a specialized team actively investigating potential fraud cases, gold sellers & buyers, bot users and other topics.


    Goldseller & Gold buyer
    If we find gold sellers, those characters and accounts will be permanently banned with immediate effect. If you buy gold there will be an investigation which will lead to a temporary or even permanent ban. The gold that you have bought will of course also be removed.


    Cheats, Hacks, Exploits & Bot usage
    We also monitor our servers and 3rd party websites when it comes to possible cheats, hacks, exploits and bot usage. Bluehole and our teams improve the game and services on a regular basis to fix possible loopholes.
    Our teams and tools monitor different log files and it is easy for us to find out who abuses systems with an exploit or who is using any 3rd party software to gain an unfair advantage (for example a bot software).
    We know that many of you really love TERA and enjoy the game, so we strongly believe that you don’t want to lose your game account.


    Reporting Bot user or Gold sellers / Gold buyer
    In case you want to report possible bot users or gold seller / gold buyer, you can always do so by creating a ticket to our support team.
    We’re constantly working on further improvements for the game engine and code and the attached services. We’re also constantly monitoring possible gold sellers and other abuses via specialized teams.

  • ~Crucible of Flame~


    Hello everyone!
    I'd like to kindly remind you that exploits are not meant to be abused but reported.


    Lately we've noticed from players reporting it here as well as information circulating all around the Community that some players are abusing an exploit in the Crucible of Flame Dungeon. I'd like to let you know that this issue has already been reported and that Support is already checking the Rankings of this Dungeon.


    There will also be consequences for anyone that is "caught" using this or any other exploit. If any of you has any questions concerning this, please make a ticket to the Support and avoid giving too much information about this in the forum as it's a sensitive matter.


    Thank you all very much for the patience you showed with this, I'll give me more information when I have anything new concerning this or any other exploits.

    I would also like to take this chance, in this topic, to remind you all that win-trading in the Battlegrounds is also considered exploiting. Of course some of you might have noticed that there have been actions taken by our GMs against this already and of course we will keep treating this issue for as long as it's needed.


    Please, if you still see someone exploiting or if you simply think someone might be exploiting, inform our GMs via the Support System so that they can make a check just to be on the safe side.


    Again, for this issue as well, please avoid forum-posts especially ones with more information than needed.

  • ~Trading Scam~


    Hello to all!


    Since the Trading Scam starts to become quite popular I'd like to give you some information concerning past or/and future cases.


    For the past cases:
    If your issue is not more than 2 weeks old please contact the Support about it. If you have done it already, please re-answer to them to have another look. I cannot promise that they will be able to return everything you have lost but at least they will double check the cases and see if they can get a more clear picture about this.
    I'd like to apologize in advance if we are not able to help, I really hope there won't be many of these cases but if we cannot somehow confirm what was arranged between players we will not be able to return any items or gold lost nor ban any scammers.

    For future cases:

    Please, whenever you are about to trade with someone make a screenshot of the dialogue ingame where it's actually clearly stated on what trade you had agreed. In case you get scammed please make a ticket to our support with date, time, server, usernames and this screenshot. If everything is clear in your report they will be able to trace the scam and give you your items back. Please understand that the screenshot has to be from the game (skype, facebook or any other platforms don't count) and it has to clearly shown what was agreed and who was involved.


    Please make sure you have this screenshot, there is no need to take any other screenshot (like trade window or something like this), just on the agreement. If any of you that have lost items this way in the last few weeks happen to have a screenshot of the chat box, please attach it to your tickets.

  • ~Crucible of Flame part II~


    Hello all!
    I'm getting constantly asked about the Crucible of Flame exploit that gives you the High Score Bonus.
    To finally answer some questions...


    1. Do we ban for exploiting this bug?
    Yes, Support has already banned players that have abused it.


    2. Should you keep reporting people that you think are exploiting?
    Yes, of course you can but please keep in mind that we will proceed with banning players only when we are totally sure that they have exploited.


    3. When will this be fixed?
    Our first priority right now is to bring the Reaper live, I understand this might take a bit of time as well but all our Team is working on Reaper-related tasks, so please be a bit more patient with this problem.


    4. I got banned, what now?
    If you got banned, I am not the right person to ask for help from. What you need to do is to contact the Support.

    I was asked to clarify some things about macros used in gathering.
    Firstly, this is the paragraphe that refers to macros from our Terms and Conditions:

    7.2 The user is prohibited from any form of manipulative intervention in the online game. In particular, the user is not entitled to use measures, mechanisms or software that could interfere with the function or the course of the game. The user must not take measures that may cause an unreasonable or excessive load on the technical capacity. The user is not allowed to block, rewrite or modify contents generated by Gameforge or to interfere in any other manner with the game.


    7.3: The user is also prohibited from running the online game (including all individual web pages) with programmes other than the Internet browser or the client programme that has been provided. This refers in particular to so-called bots and other tools designed to replace or supplement the Web interface. Scripts and completely or partially automated programmes that provide the user with an advantage over other users are also prohibited. These include
    auto-refresh-functions and other integrated mechanisms of the Internet browser, if they involve automated operations.


    Secondly and in very few words macros are not allowed. The question of course comes to "Will we get banned from the Support?". Support in general allows macros in the auction house or crafting system but forbids them for gathering materials from the sources or automatically pick up items from the ground.


    Keep in mind that if you are in the source and have pressed "F" with your keyboard without you being around, it is considered and automated operation and you also risk to get banned if caught.


    Please also keep in mind that any item that gets lost due to some automated procedure of this sort cannot be restored or reimbursed.


    Also, Support asked me to tell you that you should feel free to make them a ticket and ask them about the use of any macros if you are not certain if they are allowed or not.

    We’d like to keep you updated on the CoF glitch.


    For the last few weeks the entire TERA Team has done multiple checks and tests in order to learn more about this glitch. We are in close contact with Bluehole concerning this issue and we’d like to let you know that they are already working on providing us a fix as soon as possible. We, of course, understand the importance of this topic and we’d like to ask you for your patience since the last few weeks we had made our priority bringing the Reaper update live.


    Unfortunately, as a publisher we have limitations and when it comes to taking action against players abusing this glitch we don’t wish to treat anyone unfairly, therefore we can for the moment only wait for the specific fix.


    Last but not least, I would like also to thank you all very much for the help you have provided us with concerning this matter, it is really appreciated and I’ll do my best to keep you updated on this as much as possible.
