The Complete Guide to What I Need to Know About Tera

  • After about a week of doing my own research about Tera, I started up and made a High Elf Lancer, and I still have several unanswered questions. I need help understanding the basics in detail. I want to step my game knowledge up now to prevent needing to do that later. I mostly play LoL and there are tons of resources that everyone knows for improving your game knowledge including my personal website. If these don't exist for Tera, I'd like to bring them to us.

If you could leave me with the sites you all use for Tera knowledge, I'd appreciate it. Below is a list of the questions I'd like answered in detail (three sentences minimum if possible).

    1. If I have no active quest, how do I find ones available to me? I'm level 5 and not sure how to access the next Story quest.
    2. How does crafting gear work? How can I acquire the best gear for my level? I'm sure that's hard, but I'd like the answered.
    3. Race seems to play a very small role in Tera's combat. Do players of the same class/different race learn all the same skills outside of the race-specific abilities?
    4. What are your thoughts on powerful 2v2 and 3v3 duos and trios for PvP? i.e. - a Lancer/Archer duo, or a Lancer/Priest/Slayer trio? What party compositions are generally successful and unsuccessful in PvP?
    5. At which level does open-world PvP begin?
  • 1. Look at the Map (M) and search for red marks for the main-quests or take a look at your quest log (L)

    2. you can learn crafting recipes once you are lv 65. Until then you just kill mobs that randomly drop new gear which you can upgrade to +3 (T)

    3. every lancer learns the same skills at the same level, except for 1 race-skill (teleport to main-city Velika/Allemantheia/Kaiator with 1hour cooldown) and 2 uninteresing skills

    4. As of now, you can que for battlegrounds once you are lv 70. I dont play PVP so I dont know more.

    5. no open world PVP left, only battlegrounds.

of course this counts for the PC version, PS4/Xbox is pretty far behind
