So where are the account mounts?

  • Hello. New old player here. Now, yes, I titled my thread a bit wrong so before we talk about where all my old account bound items went, I'll tell you that I already know that answer. This thread is to actually ask and wonder why isn't GF selling account bound stuff on their store. I mean, not everyone is in need of a "chimeric" mount with buffs and restoring powers. Some of us just want something to toss on a new character if we ever make one.

What I propose is to take those old mounts without any effects on them (and some of those old non premium outfits and weapon skins as well) and revive them through account bound packages. Right now, my old collector's edition account gives me the white lion and two necklaces. Good stuff but I miss the other mounts I had access to. I forgot to add all of mine to all of my characters before migration, plus I made a new character that has none of them.

And as mounts go, where is the direct buy non premium Easter bunny mount? All I see is the gacha version being tossed around on broker....

Anyway back to topic. In the last days of EME's Tera, the trend seemed to be against selling account bound stuff. Last time I checked that shop before it went the way of the dodo, they only had the steam punk package and maybe one or two mounts. Was that model so bad for business?

TL:DR: Please bring account bound stuff to fill our account item claim sections. Thanks for reading.

Note to moderators: This thread is meant as suggestion, opinion, and discussion, as I want whoever willing to post an opinion to do so. But feel free to move it to whatever place in the forum you feel it more appropriate.

  • I'm assuming someone higher up the ladder had the brainstorm "Why are we letting people buy one thing they can use on every character they ever make when we can make them buy one for each of those characters instead?" without considering the more realistic outcome being people buying nothing at all.

  • TERA is already way too expensive to play these days and the last thing I am going to do is spend a ton of money on character bound mounts. End of story.

Tera will be expensive if you want to keep up with the whales or if you want that new mount with the unfair buffs and that super glowy cosmetic right now. But listen... As gearing goes, that will only get you into afking on Highwatch showing your character's glow and nothing else. I mean, by now that's the only thing spending money on gearing will give you, since pvp is pretty dead, unbalanced and not worth even mentioning. And the same stuff may apply to speed running. As for going for gacha mounts and outfits, that only perpetuates the company thinking that gacha sells and they will see no reason to change it, but more reasons to push even more of it down our throats.

So really, keep your money in your bank unless it's for direct buy cosmetics, or to play the broker to get whatever new gacha stuff the whales are selling there (I got me a new bunny mount the other day by selling old stuff from my storage, for example). This is all I can advice anyone out there. I've been on and off this game since 2012 and I'm yet to spend a single dollar on gearing up. But I did buy plenty of shop cosmetics back in the day. Sure, I personally don't need powerful gear because I'm not going for any top dungeons. Those get usually dropped to lower tiers over time, and even moderate gearing will get you into several dungeons if you get tired of the gossamer place. What I feel people should be doing is to try and get together into similar tier groups and grind together. If that's even possible in this day and age.

In the end, all I want is more and better direct purchase options because I'm not rich enough to be spending money on gacha stuff. Much less for gearing up, which history tells us it's an extremely temporary thing.

This is my train of thought as well, as it has been the choice I myself picked.
