Say, for example, I have my starter armour, or any old armour gear in inventory or the bank. Is there a way I can drop that into a tab and use that as a cosmetic skin (similar to say, LOTRO's outfit system, where you can overlay any skin on to your character)?
Is there a way to wear old armour as costume/ cosmetic?

Hi mate !
I dont think it works like that in Tera, cosmetics are cosmetics and gear is gear.

Ah, that's a shame. I was really hoping I could use my starter armour skin as a cosmetic. Ah well. It is identical to one available for vouchers. Speaking of which, how can I get more of those?

If you are interested in the look of that gear, fashion coupons have all the skins of gears you get from lvl 1-65. Fashion Coupons drop in dungeons and are fairly easy to collect, but be aware the ones that drop are empty so you have to convert them to be able to see skins.

Yup, the coupons I already had were the same, and I had to convert those. I must be missing something, because I can't really see the point of that.

It's just another bug/glitch that has been reported, but hasn't been fixed.

Fair enough. When you say they drop in dungeons, is that only from a certain level? To put it in perspective, I'm level 35, and ran through the first dungeon again (solo mode), and didn't get any. Does it have to be with a group? Is it a low drop rate? And the same thing with BAMs. I thought I could be clever and just kill the basilisks. Killed loads of them, and again, didn't get any coupons.

Hey just so you know, blippedyblop, way back when Tera was actually a good game, they had NPCs who would, for a small gold fee, allow you to switch the appearance of any armor piece for a different one if you had said armor piece.
The item you took the appearance of got destroyed and you'd keep the stats of the other one.
This could be done for each individual armor piece, as in body/upper arm/lower arm/upper leg/lower leg/head.It allowed for brilliant customization, the developers scrapped that system in favour of a much more restrictive system where you can only override your entire outfit with certain sets of gear.
Super lame, I know.

The drop rate of fashion coupons is almost non-existantly low before level 65. I can guarantee you can't get enough to even come close to buying anything before that. After level 65 I'm not even sure where the best place is to get them now.
It's too bad you missed the last league of levelers; they gave you 1500 fc at levels 35 and 55 (total 3000) for every class you leveled.

It's mostly in lvl 66+ dungeons. I usually stack them in bank, but after running few dungeons I have them in inventory again, so they do drop from somewhere.

Aww, that's a shame. Though, to be fair, I'm a hoarder, and would never want to destroy my starter gear. Thus far, LOTRO seems to be one of the few MMOs out there that's got the cosmetic system right.
To everyone else:
Thank you all so much for the advice, I really appreciate it. Will wait until I get high level, then attempt farming them.
I actually asked in global chat ingame how to get coupons, and someone said (no joke) to buy them with thalers!
To say they missed the point would be an understatement...
And Maisee, that sucks that they don't give them out anymore. That alone would be incentive to level up characters. -
I imagine they will be back for the next league of levelers (it's a leveling event where you get free stuff, I'm not sure how frequently they run), so make sure you keep character slot free. That way you can level one class, delete it, level another class, delete it, etc.

Thanks for the headsup!
