So, I've gotten the game through Steam and planned on playing the game on the NA servers. However, it seems there is an inconvenience that has been an oversight for some time. You can only get the server selector through one of the many methods when launching through Steam. Does anyone know if there is a launch option I can append to make it see the NA server as the default when launching from the desktop shortcut? A cursory google search found nothing of note, only an apology for the inconvenience a few months back and various NA server news forum posts and articles.

Are you talking about a pop-up window before the full launch of the game, which prompts you to select the region in which the game should be launched (Europe or North America)? If this is what you mean then there is currently no way to save this selection, so you have to select it every time you start the game.

Kinda what I was looking for, yeah. Or a way to allow me to pull that server selection window up upon using the desktop shortcut rather than solely through the play button in my Steam library.

I don't think there's a way to make the region selection window pop up from the desktop shortcut. I'm afraid you're stuck launching directly through Steam.
