Please lower ilvl requirements/increase feedstock drop rate

  • The current state of the game is this: People who did not have best gear before the patch (Kaia +15) are now denied all fun in endgame. The only thing they can do is grind three boring dungeons for a meager drop rate, which will not allow them to upgrade to +15 and unlock more dungeons anytime soon. This is NOT FUN AT ALL. People are gonna leave the game over this. I've seen many people being upset about this, both on this forum and elsewhere.


    There are three possible ways to improve this situation:

    1) lower the ilvl requirements for some of the 498 dungeons so that we can run more dungeons

    2) add more dungeons for ilvls below 498 (event dungeons perhaps?)

    3) make enchanting to kaia +15 easier so that we are not stuck in the three boring dungeons for so long


    I will now elaborate on these three points.


    First, the ilvl requirements seem unnecessarily high. I play a mystic with 490 ilvl (Kaia +11/+12) and I did two DANM runs after the patch (through lfg because I can't IM) and it was completely doable for me, had no problems running this dungeon. (Though I admit the ilvl might be more of an issue for a dps than a healer. But I still think lowering the requirements a little bit would not hurt the dps too much.) I have yet to test this in more hard dungeons (will keep this threat updated).


    Adding more dungeons is pretty self-explanatory because more variety of dungeons = more fun. It would be great if they were a little challenging.


    Another solution, would be to increase the drop rate of improved feedstock in dungeons or add another way to get this feedstock.

    What you said in the patch notes about a "significantly reduced number of enchanting materials" was very misleading. Replacing EVERYTHING with improved feedstock (even repair materials and materials for enchanting below 10) does not make it easier to enchant at all. There is currently a shortage of improved dark shard feedstock (improved armor feedstock was completely sold out on broker the day of the patch). People were hoarding normal dark shard feedstock, only to find out they are useless in this patch. A solution to this would be add an easy way to get cohesion arcane to transform normal feedstock into improved feedstock. Somebody suggesed adding cohesion arcane in Elleon shop, which I think is a great idea. Or you could add it as a reward in some event. People who have hoarded normal feedstock would be very happy about this, and it would improve the situation around shortage of improved feedstock too. EDIT: It would be awesome if normal feedstock could be converted into improved feedstock just by righ-clicking, but I understand this would be technically difficult to implement.

    EDIT: A great solution to the enchanting problem would be to completely remove the chance to drop a level when enchating Kaia, that would make it much easier to reach +15, needless to say that dropping a level is extremely frustrating. A similar effect could be achieved by implementing an easy way to obtain a 100% Serghetto's Safeguard.

  • I disagree with you on this, there are actually a lot of ways to farm feedstock(improved) just read the description of the item and where it drops.

    Just for fun, I played again on my gunner on Mystel and before the patch my ilv was 481, since yesterday night i'm 498 and my total playtime since the new patch is 5.5 hours, I did have some gold and improved shards but it is significantly easier to upgrade, you can get to 498 much faster and with a lot less fails or downgrades, also a repair of the item costs 1 shard.

    If you have infinity coins you can spam ruinous manor, it also drops unstable soul gear change scrolls and they are worth between 80 to 200k each or more in the broker and you can easily get tier 3 relics and haildoms.

  • I completely agree with Sewin here.

    Spamming RM (as well as Parquinas) gets really boring really fast, there's no challenge to it. If your group got good gear you can do the dungeon pretty fast but if they have gear like mine it takes some time which is just annoying because as I said, the dungeon is not hard, it just takes longer to clear it. I did three runs yesterday, got only 1 improved dark shard feedstock and then i closed the game cause that's just not worth the time...

    I would be really happy if there were more dungeons on this gearscore to get improved dark shard feedstock from, in my opinion too many of the old dungeons were removed. Also maybe add it to the vanguard rewards, but maybe I just had really bad luck yesterday. Fact is, that the way it is right now, it's no fun.

  • honestly the current fresh 70 experience sucks,
    you need gold for advanced skills
    you need gold to infuse items into your gear
    you need gold to enchant your gear
    and your limited to one dungion that gives trash gold rewards, has zero mechs that matters, and is a total meme

    new players must love being told to play the same mission 50+times to unlock the next one if rng is nice to them

    I did 20 dungeons today (RM, AQ and GV) and I got 9 improved feedstock. Do you think that that's enough or fair? The friend I queued with got lucky and got 12.

    'Some' was propably a pretty high amount or you were insanely lucky. I failed at least 15 times on my chest and my weapon aswell (which were +12 and +13) and my weapon is still not +15. I did not try to enchant my sleeves and boots. I need to run at least 10 dungeons to be sure that I get enough mats for one other try as I do not get one guaranteed armor and one guaranteed weapon feedstock - or a guarenteed drop at all. And I ignore the gold factor completely here.


    I agree with Sewin. I need improved feedstock for every stage of enchantment, but I only get one per run when I am lucky. How's that fair? Gameforge, please adjust the drop rate and make it group loot.

    There is no reason to hurry and get gear, not this time, with the limited amount of dungeons completely agreed, someone already made a poll about this to send feedback, just check the forum.

    And yes some was a high amount but not even close to being enough without farming.

    Bcuz alts are too low for it now. So now you either pay for tera club for those two runs for commander or do the same dungeon over and over. It's already exhausting doing it 16 times on main and then you have to do same thing on alts and then, if you have bad luck you, you did all that for pretty much nothing, cuz those 10 feedstock that you got failed. Now imagine for new player who only have 2 characters, the turtle steps it will take to get to +10 at least.

  • I support this topic. I could run Kelsaik, Draakon Arena and many other dungeons before the patch. Now I am locked out of all the content I played before, the new dungeon, and current events. What is left are 3 utterly boring low tier dungeons that provide almost no enchantment materials to improve items to unlock new and old content again.


    This is no fun at all. Enchantment usually fails, or even worse, your item drops a level. Why was this annoying feature not removed? It is really frustrating when your ability to play this game is crippled by its random number controlled nature that works against you.

    Where does feedstock drop on Exodor? I did the daylies and killed around 600 monsters there with 20% increased loot potion active. No feedstock dropped at all, only skill advancement XP, a few card fragments and tiny amounts of gold. This would be a very inefficient source, if it drops at all.

    You don't HAVE TO spam catalepticon upon reaching 498 ilvl. You will have other dungeons available. You can spam Catalepticon if you want to but you have a CHOICE to play other fun dungeons. That's my main issue with this patch. The lack of a choice.

    Technically, I can choose to run DAN but I'm handicapped because I can't IM for it (so I have to use lfg, which takes longer) and I get no vanguard rewards.

    RM, GV, and AQ? So we are stuck spamming the same 3 dungeons in order to RNG loot Improved Feedstock. Open world farming? I doubt you even do that and can even conclude the rates are reasonable.

    Again, you're geared beyond what regular players are at, or even the new players. Can you elaborate how it is easier to upgrade? You can only upgrade if you have the materials to upgrade. Is it because we can see the success rates? Is it because we get that wonderful 1% per fail? Is that what makes enchanting better than the previous patch? If so, then you're logic is flawed and shows how terrible the state of progression is right now. Having a supply of Improved Feedstock = easy iLvl increase, no shot.

    Again, assuming we have Infinity Coins in order to spam. Otherwise, we are capped in terms of the number of runs we can play as we have to recharge. Also, we are relying on RNG to get something to sell in order to purchase RNG enchantment material.

    Commander Residence is 479. If they didn't change the iLvl requirements then sure we would be able to spam it on alts. However, we are stuck at at least 464 with the free Kaia gear and accessories provided. With just a +10 Weapon, you will be at iLvl 472. Clearly you know the iLvl of Cata but not Commander Residence and spewing the impossible. Also, people might not have Tera Club. You should be taking into consideration the most likely or reasonable scenarios to back up your reasoning, which you aren't.

    Yes, Cata but also FA, DA, CSN are available as well. We have more variety since we reached the iLvl requirements.


    But what can I say, your posts just don't take into consideration what new players experience or those who are more casual or not lucky enough in dungeon loots. I'm glad the patch just did you good and screwed with the other players.

  • As a new/returned (after few years) player, I starting to understand grinding factor in this game. But after last patch, it's whole new level. Only good part is free Kaia gear. But upgrade that will be pain and I'm already considering leave this game again and for good.

    With new character I only have ilvl 464.4 with that free Kaia gear and there is not many ways to farm feedstock (at least with no decend droprate).


    Ace Dungeons aka Trials - I did 6 runs (daily limit) on all my 4 (lvl68) characters last two days (48 runs total) and didn't get any feedstock.

    Monsters in Exodor - no drop so far.
    Monsters in Verrak Fortress - nope. still waiting for any drop.
    Gossamer Vault, Ruinous Manor - because of ilvl 464 (and maybe lvl 68) only Gossamer Vault is available for me. The truth is I didn't try that dungeon so far, but I'm sure feedstock is not guaranteed.

    Echoes of Aranea - this is only source I got some feedstock. 5x weapon and 1x armor feedstock after 48 runs.


    ...it is significantly easier to upgrade...

    On Ninja I was lucky and got +2 weapon with 2 feedstock.

    But on Gunner everything failed (3 weapon and 1 armor feedstock) on +0 stage.

    If this is significantly easier to upgrade then I wonder how difficult it was before.


    It's really hard to see any reason or motivation to progress my gear. Not only it's hard to get feedstock mainly for fresh out of story players, but every attempt can fail and downgrade. For me personally, this is huge waste of time. So I fully agree with OP. There should be better options for new players.


    I agree with these suggestions:
    1. Remove downgrade on gears. (It's funny how new gear don't have downgrade but gear given to new players have. Nice middle finger for new players.)
    2. Better droprate for feedstock or make at least one solo dungeon when drop is guaranteed.

    3. More sources like fishing - exchangeable for angler tokens or winning ticket.

    Patch 102 is terrible. It has made the game completely P2W and is discouraging new players (which is already bad as it is). I think Gameforge is too focused on short-term profits and not realizing in the long run that increasing the players will increase profits overall. Once the game is dead from the lack of players, even the P2W people will leave. No one wants that. Not the players or the publisher.


    Removing dungeons like MC, RR, RK, AAH, FA (slayer), and DAH made 0 sense to me. It's like trying tell me that a new car without AC is better than your old car with it. Less is not better. The game needs more content for lower lvl players. ilvl of 498 and 501 is ridiculous (and this is coming form a player with toons with over 501 ilvl). It's locking lower ilvl players out of the content. We just keep seeing the same people in dungeons over and over again because the ilvl requirement is just too difficult for new players to overcome. Also, this makes Tera into a game full of elitists. Not fun at all.


    I really hope they see the feedback here, and do something about it soon before they lose more players. I keep hearing how discouraged everyone is and want to just quit the game after this patch. It's too bad too since I used to really like Tera. It's been a great game. Just poorly managed...

    I'm actually stuck at Level 69 with both my characters. I was at lvl 67 before the transfer and somehow menaged to reach 69 thanks to the Macellarius Catacombs, the only dungeon I can complete on my own. What should I do now? The Gossamer Vault, I can't do that by myself, the first monster is too strong. Is "defeating 100 monsters in Exodor areas" the only way? I would like to unlock the last chapters of the story...

  • So after the maintenance today, the double drop will be enabled for all dungeons until February 2nd in case you somehow missed it.

    My point is: cry again? :elin8: After salting the sea make sure you also give thanks to whom they're required and be nice.

    Hopefully 1k per feedstock is not too rich for your blood like it was not cheap already and the drop was high if you knew where to farm it.

    Also, altough not having many high expectations for a decent solution , but one can but keep hoping , would add :

    So, even before patch 102 , there were lots of different materials used for upgrading/enchanting previous versions of gear and accessories.


    Yet, devs (couldn’t/wouldnt) didn’t find a way to compensate players for the time spent grinding those sh!ts , as to allow exchanging those mats for something that can be used in current patch (es) , be those superior healing potions , superior mana potions, foods, partners related stuff , improved feedstock .. ANYTHING OF USE .


    Given current patch , even more useless mats added to previous ones. Among all those , I could mention :


    - metamorphic emblems (became useless waaaay before patch 102) ;


    - silver / golden talents/daric/plates ;


    - exodor scout weapon / armor feedstock ;


    - black core shards ;


    - black core nodules


    and maybe even more ..


    Nevertheless, boxes like Banyaka’s treasure and (event) Dark Secret’s content seem as virgin , (drop wise) as the day they saw the light of tera realms. Oh, should not forget Ghilliglade drop (ppings) ..


    So , maybe, just maybe , the mighty Forum Keepers , can come up with a table of content exchange for old materials and some loot changes in solo/lower dungeons and just forward it to anyone at Gameforge that has the ability,the knowledge, the will, the power to do something about this matter (regional event at least) and also, send it to All Mighty Devs , who might (though strongly doubt it) come up with a terrifying and tremendously heart wa(o)rming solution.

    Yes, after today's maintenance double drop will also apply to lower dungeons , but still , considering old kaia gear kept the failure rate ..there's a lot of improved feedstock needed to upgrade ..

  • If even gameforge recognizes the lack of materials and takes the servers down for 3 hours to introduce an emergency drop event some people should really start to think and try to stop losing braincells

  • I aggree that improved feedstocks should dropp more often. But Sweet.Shiro.Neko in which universe is kaia gear harder to upgrade than new gear? Have you played the content and farmed your mats from hardmode?

    I tried so hard, and got so far... but in the end, it doesn't even matter...
