Tera Classic Server Poll and Discussion (Consolidated)

    Press F for George W. Bushfunker, he will be missed. Hopefully we don't have to press another F for the classic server idea, I really do hope you'll get it.

    Godfrey Because,many of "classic server" addicted people will leave the regular tera.It means there is more lesser people than before to sell their things on Trade Brooker.In regular tera,there are mostly pve people.And these guya probably who backstabbed pvpers when its 2015 like saying "pvp shouldnt be rewarded,they should buy materials from us or they should do dungeon blabla".When they started killing pvp side of the game,these pvera were always stay "selfish,and backstabber" to us.


    Now they dont wanna loose people in regular Tera.Cause it will effect their economy.Nothing more.And these +15 p2w or no lifer grinders doesnt invite new people for low dungeons.And these people are blaming new players or not a pro players for being less damage in dungeons.


    They mostly inviting their statica to go dungeons.So basically,they are not beneficial for any type of player.Like i said,selfish,arrogant people...


    Thats why they dont wanna see classic server.Even in limited time classic server,half of the regular server went classic one.Just think,if there is classic one...

    From my understand (I read the whole tread) that people who want classic server already left the game for their own reasons, be that pvp or easy content or p2w or are not as active, jump in from time to time to check out new patch, try new dungeon and log out, they don't spend cash or gold. Game doesn't profit from them anymore. So I didn't include them in the population that there is now. You can't take away something that isn't there. I do agree with the thought that classic server could bring back a portion of those who left or gave up and maybe try to interest new/casual players of current tera. I do agree with everything you said in the post, but I don't see gameforge giving up that amount of cash flow they are guaranteed to get every time they release new patch, new items, new loot boxes. It doesn't even come close to if people were to only buy cosmetics over time, cuz that's not a necessity, no one buys dresses or mounts in bulks, but with gear mats there is no other option. For classic server to happen, gameforge would need to put their greed aside and let people be happy and get comfortable with the game and people won't spend huge amount of money right away and in gameforge eyes that's way too big of a space/time to not milk their players.

    Going to make a correction on that. Current TERA dont care even for Weeaboos, Anime, Elin fans. Ever since Exodor came to TERA BHS and GameForge (EME in NA before they closed) favored only p2w model trying to milk people who were willingly to spend +2k dollars in ONE DAY to get max enchantment level.


    I will only want to clarify, current people at BHS and GameForge clearly shown they only care about p2w stuff as you can see many costumes and cosmetics with bugs/glitches reported and never fixed, just the same as TERA class balance, gameplay, dungeons and BGs.


    They are hoping those people who swipe to get their gear up to date will be enought to keep this game alive and when they dont its obvious they will shutdown the game.


    This comes from someone who has spend +30k in cosmetics in this game since I joined and I can tell you these past years since Exodor patch I am less motivated to spend money because how bad has been managed overall.


    PD. I know people who has spend even more than me in this game only on cosmetics and they feel somewhat the same way.

    At this point I expect Gameforge to announce: "we are giving Tera publishing rights to *Gamigo", but we'll see if there will be an announcement at all, or this subject will just be forgotten (or aka "forwarded").

    This is why. Why would GF risk players spending that amount over the years, if they can hit those numbers during the first week (if not days) since new patch/loot boxes are released and it doesn't stop there, cuz you have to gear all alts and have to put stuff on broker for sale.

    Yeah you're absolutely right.

    The whole weeaboo/anime/elin-lover section of that post was kind of silly because you're right, it's not just about targeting people who like those themes. The bigger picture is, like you say, how Tera is targeting anyone who wants to swipe for their gear and cosmetics rather than earning them through gameplay. Whether those cosmetics be weeaboo/elin/anime-themed, or badass-themed or whatever else.


    It just seems like the type of people who pay the most money for cosmetics, gear and items have a preference for the elin/weeaboo/anime-themed things, far more than the other cosmetic themes, but that doesn't mean they're the only types being taken advantage of by modern Tera.


    A return to Classic though would eliminate this kind of predatory endgame, since in Classic, you had to earn the best gear. Not buy it, and that's why companies like Krafton/BHS/Gameforge aren't interested in providing Classic to the players. These companies are so short-sighted and greedy that they can't foresee the long-term effects of this destroying their game and future income.


    They simply want a short-term very quick cash-grab.

    Instead of a long-term game with MANY players paying small fees to play and enjoy the game, they want a short-term game with FEW players paying HUGE amounts of fees to play and enjoy the game.

    They don't realize that they could make more money long-term by going the long-term route, and it's just pathetic and self-destructive.

    I mean they could just take a loot at TeraCZ, opened an EU server for a single month only, still made a couple thousand of euros for sure, and you got base +9 gear and insta lvl 65 during the servers life, and gearing was pretty easy (but you could just decide not to either, as BGs were mostly equalized per community request).

    People still decided to p2w, for whatever reason they had.

    That's how it should be, cuz there's always gonna be people who will spend money regardless. The bottom line is, if someone decided to pay their way instead of leveling that's fine as long as others have in game tools to catch up, where in this tera you can p2w, but for the rest there is not enough in game materials for the whole server to catch up.

It seems like they have the same attitude of Gameforge where they say "We will forward it on to the correct department".
