Tera is back to Bluehole

  • Since K-Tera is finally free from the combination of Krafton/Nexon and is seemingly going back to bluehole who certainly weren't perfect but at least much better than Krafton. This might (unlikely at this point but its possible assuming you guys actually listen to our feedback) finally be the turning point of tera because it has only been going downhill for the past two or three years since Krafton/Nexon/etc took over. I'll try to keep the majority of EU's feedback as short as possible to not further confuse you or to reduce the chance that it actually gets read.

    1. We don't want RNG stats on our gear meaning weapon/chest/gloves/boots & every Jewely piece. This game always had a extremly competitive community and by adding random stats during exodor patch we lost a ton of people that actually liked to compete with each other - mainly because with those rng stats there is simply no skill competition but rather a "how lucky are you" or "how much gold you have to buy good gear" competition which completly destroyed the main reason of playing and enyoying tera for a lot of people. We want Heroic Oath gearing system again which allowed everyone to have the same basic gear without having to rely on rng stats that has nothing to do with your amount of effort you put into the game because the chances to actually get a good piece on your own is pretty similar to winning the lottery in real life. Having rng stats on gear is absolutely the opposite of having a motivation - it really is just much more frustrating and depressing to play because you alone can't get them. We're completly fine with "getting +15 or +9" being a bit harder as an exchange since of course you guys have to give us some kind of longer lasting content but please STOP with these rng stats. This is literally the worst decision you could ever make so please consider finally going back to our previous system - Tera was perfectly fine for the previous years. We never wanted this rng stats system and the whole playerbase would be insanely happy if you went back to the old one.

    2. Fix bugs & exploits when people report them to you. I'm just speaking from my own experience but for the last one or two years I personally feel like that Krafton ignored a lot of reports or even feedback from the EU Tester-Team. These people are there for a reason and from what I have heard people were actually reporting a few things but almost nothing got fixed.


    3. We want dungeons to be rewarding. Tera is still a videogame which is supposed to be fun and enyjoable - its not supposed to be a job that forces you to play for 10 hours a day if you ever want to achieve anything. Thats not a healthy way to balance your game and we already lost a huge part of our community - thanks to a lot of awful decisions made during the recent two years. Learn from these mistakes and actually reward your players for staying.


    4. Work with your community. Listen to feedback. We love this game and want to enjoy it as long as possible but if you guys don't realise that this game is dying and you continue making bad decisions & ignoring your community - then this game definitely won't survive for too long. This game still has a lot of potential but after so many years of not doing anything for the community there isn't much left anymore - don't risk losing the last few players.

    I don't even remember, when was it that Krafton took over again? Level 70 update, right? Which ironically is where this downwards trend started. Stale content and adding RNG factors on literally everything. Before, up to a certain point, yes, it was grindy, but every end goal was achievable without having to pray to RNGesus - or well, not as much - looking at HO gear and how expensive getting +3 was, still would take this over the RNG fiesta that we have right now any day.


    I mean, let's take a look. Gear itself, with its stats as well as chance to downgrade - even though that will go away next patch. Infusions on gear. Jewelry and its RNG stats plus their infusions. The stupid damage range on new weapons (just why??? Could have just left it at a static value like it was before with HO!). Pets, Relics and Halidoms,... need I go on?


    The only system not based on RNG - well, for a while - was the cards system, and given that blue cards and card fusion are out now, even that has RNG to it now. But after all I guess that's where Krafton figured the money comes from, right?


    Ironic that this dirty practice went along with horrible content/dungeon design. Just to put it into perspective, out of all dungeons we saw being made by Krafton, only two YES, TWO have completely original boss design, that being the GVN/H bosses and Kalligar in DA (although I am not even certain if GVN/H were from Krafton-times, I remember something about it being a Bluehole dungeon that Krafton subsequently released as theirs).


    The rest is either reskinned or lazily assembled by reusing player models and animations. The latter of which are terrible designs by default given how bad collision on player models already is. Long story short, absolute desync fiesta.

    AQ - Reskin of AAHM's second Boss with altered Mechs, and an easier version/reskin of RRHM's last boss.

    Hagufna - Human Male Slayer...

    Sea of Honor - various player models with a male Amani Zerk being the last boss

    Undying Warlord - Human Male Brawler...

    CSN/H - Reskinned Kelsaik

    RRK, SCE - Reskins with added mechanics to make the fights more tedious while offering absolutely terrible loot.


    So not only did players get screwed over by frustrating RNG elements, they were "rewarded" for their loyalty by getting the most lazy, low effort content ever seen for said players to make use of said RNG game mechanics.


    That being said, I would definitely appreciate some better dungeon designs in the future, with dungeons that feel REWARDING to run. People have made enough suggestions for what they would have in mind.


    As for the gear, would it be time to ask to drop this stupid random stat system and maybe allow us to go back to fixed, rollable stats that we can choose? Hell, maybe even bring back the old overlines (looking at 9% ASPD and ESPECIALLY at that 7,2% CDR there), it added a bit of variety to the game even when everyone was basically at the same gear.


    Meanwhile Krafton said the new gear and its rolls were meant to help people distinguish their own builds, and make the game more newbie-friendly, yet achieved quite the opposite.


    Here's hoping that something will change for the better...

    Basically they renamed the company Krafton, and spun off Bluehole into a subsidiary of the company.

  • Only thing that changes is that korean tera isn't in nexons hands but kraftons/bhss.

    To be honest this makes you wonder why nobody but GameForge is left as a sole publisher of TERA and Krafton is taking back everything else; including KR and Console for NA and EU.

    Milking latest population who are really addicted to game maybe.Instead of sending our feedbacks and pushing them.In many games,one of them can be good publisher or developers.But in Tera,both of them are worst.

    They made elyon,released in korea 1 month ago.The graphics are more worst than tera and the gameplay.Dunnow what they are thinking.They could make Tera Unchained or something with our feedbacks.But they choose to make another mmo LOL.Still tera is better than it,doenst matter if its new game or not.Graphic wise,combat wise much better.

Also I would appreciate it if you don't spam this thread with unessecary discussions like whether you think something is gonna change or not - this thread's whole purpose is to gather general feedback since Bluehole has requested a ton of feedback after that announcement on inven. Meaning that we might have a pretty decent chance (at least compared to Nexon/Krafton times) to forward our feedback and actually have Devs that might listen to us.

    Considering the Title you gave to your thread it's not surprising people are coming in with doubts on various things regarding the handling of this game, and not feeling too hopeful about this studio change.


    Either way I agree with the points you presented. we shall see if this game returning to "bluehole" will change anything or will just mean a that it is a studio transfer, I say that because they have their other game "Elyon" to focus on.

    I can't tell if this means that this game will actually get more meaningful content that aligns with the playerbase expectations, or it just means that it is going into maintenance mode until the game dies out. we shall see.


    personally I want to see RNG get changed completely, Gear drop rng rather than Stat rng. also make questing actually teach the player on how to play the game(the amount of players getting lost in endgame cause they were level rushed from 1 to 65 is pretty pepega), and a Classic server specifically 2012-2013 era (yeah I know it's unlikely but the content back then was actually fun with nexus and MC and pvp was pretty fun. I can still ask for it no?)

    They don't even differ that much. They are the same and do the same (always the same people).

    I recently quited black desert on my mobile and came back tera only to see tera having somewhat similarity to it... hmmm relics, combine pets. Am i playing tera?!?

    I would agree on the RNG thing, everything is slowly getting a RNG element to it. I would prefer the way tera was back in the past where everything was grinding and getting things slowly than having RNG everywhere... especially RNG gear drop is pretty cancerous. Imagine running hard ass dungeon and getting shit drops NOT REWARDING AT ALL. (I don't know about current end game content as i haven't reach there yet, but from what i am seeing with infused equipment dropping left right at MC dungeon, i have only seen 1 shit stats superior infused equipment dropped after running for over 60+ times.)

    Tera was unique and enjoyable in a sense kept me from quitting for good and keep comming back to play when i am free. But not the current tera. I find the past tera (grinding) better where you see equipment boxes almost every run but apparently i have not seen any equipment drop so far over past 10+ level 68 dungeons run. (althought it is said to drop annihilation gears)
    RNGesus getting implanted everywhere so tilting to see everything fails after week of dungeon runs and getting stuff. Imagine failing 11 times on weapon from 0 to 1, then you move on to combine relic and it all failed. : ) internally screaming


    Definitely not enjoying tera after seeing so many RNG elements. way too much. feels like i am playing gacha. SCREW RNG.


    I kind of understand making equipment newbie friendly by removing crystals and stuff but adding that option RNG changes is just what the hell man. HELP screaming again


    One more point that i would like to add would be to make old items that are phrased out to be useful. After returning to tera, you always have to start all over again, understandable. But your bank full of collections of ingredient, enchant materials and other old stuff also becomes USELESS. u save up so much enchant materials from lots of grind in the past for future usage and it just becomes useless after returning. everything either becomes metamorphic emblems or entropic emblems which so far as what i have seen, metamorphic emblems is useless (unless u mean selling metamorphic emblems for 10 silvers =_=) and the items in the shop it sells are all useless too. But at least some old item that changes to entropic emblems can change for somewhat useful items. I mean even reset scrolls can sell for thousands of golds i had a lot of those and it at least didn't became junk and sold for gold. It would be nice to add something into the shop for metamorphic emblems :) If i am not wrong there are also a few other shops from old token that are totally useless.


    It would also be nice if tera can have a in-game function call guide that teaches new player about how the system works. Like a (?) besides to click and see more info on how it works. NOPE figure it out yourself by asking, searching and desperately asking around in discord and in game. (would be nice if there is one and someone can enlighten me perhaps i am blind.)

    Also please do mark functions that are un-useable in games as currently down or some shit. I thought my card fusing function is broken. (Open it but can't fuse anything, i thought my game is bugged. went around asking and found out it was taken down. =_=) TBH if not for the helpful community, i would not have consider returning to tera.


    Personally, i don't know about this, it feels like the same reason I quitted black desert mobile. Too many RNG elements spoils the game. I am basically just playing because of the combat for pvp and dungeon... Other than combat, all the rewards u get are all thrown into RNG system (Lets Play Bingo guys ha ha If u are unlucky u get nothing go back to square one loser.) Would have spend money to buy costume and mounts for collection to support the game but now i am re-thinking after playing it a week or so after returning. Is it really worth getting drag into this endless RNG like any games that milk people so much money.

  • Maybe they will remove the guardian mission limit (40 boxes per account instead of a character). They already have a little gold (the economy will not suffer). At least there will be something to do in between the group searches in the dungeon.

    Unlikely because the change happened since several people were using bots to farm that on different chars. Especially in Korea so yeah thats usually why we can't have nice things in this game anymore - because the same retards abuse it each time.

    All friend i knew stopped because of this, myself included.


    Why should i do everything i can, and combo the most optimal way while having +10 while the other guy just randomly pressing buttons and does the same but got lucky and got +15 on 2-3rd try with decent rolls.


    Personally i'm waiting to Lost Ark now, and occasionally checking this forum to see how fiesta the game became since that 1 year i left, BTA was an amazing example of that.

    i cant see how they can fix the actual game without removing so many things,that's mainly why they need to reboot it


    anyway..for anyone who's looking to move on to another mmo until tera is fixed.... if money is no issue,i would personally recommend ffxiv because it is greatly superior in every way except the gameplay (<- which tbh is not that bad compared to tera when you fully get the hand of it)
