Returning player needs advice

  • So, I played TERA a lot a good many years ago on enmasse, and thought to try the game again. Unfortunately I lost my old account and all characters and purchases, because it was so long ago I had forgotten the account name. So, I start again.

But my recollection is that before, if I wanted a costume or other vanity item, I browsed the web site and bought it. Now, I see the items in the dressing room, I se something I like, I click the button that says purchase, expecting that to buy the item, but it doesn't. It takes me to another shop where it's not possible to buy the thing I want. So here I am, a player with money to spend and Gameforge make it hard for me to spend it. This doesn't strike me as good business.

Also, I seem to have 1000 fashion coupons. I click on these and it takes me to a fashion coupon shop, where there is literally nothing to buy, except that I can buy one fashion coupon (cost: one fashion coupon). What - is - going - on?

  • Oh boy, you are coming back to a shipwreck.

First of all, Gameforge has a different business system, it's more similar to "lootbox" system from other games, you are supposed to buy expensive boxes/spinwheels and try your luck, of course the drop rate for the good costumes is low, you normally just get bravery potions, fashion coupons or other trash... Keep trying, throw more money at Gameforge!

About the fashion coupons, just buy the other fashion coupons and use those normally, the conversion ratio is 1:1, only their (useless) rarity and item ID changes. They messed something up big time so now you have to do this everytime. Business as usual, don't expect a fix :)
