Any intention from Gameforge to monitor Wintera Auto-loot pick mod hackers?

  • I'm wondering if Gameforge intend to, in their wave to hunt exploiters, to hit those who run auto pick-up mods in Wintera, considering it's basicly the most rewarding thing to do atm and is nearly only lucrative to those cheaters. Any ideas?

  • Yeah but considering they're 2 weeks late, I guess the extra reward is mostly for that. Also considering they've been doing some actual investigation in the past few weeks, I consider being very surprising (in a good way) about the strikes so far and I have hope they'll most likely forge some system that will remain fair for everybody.

Why would "2020" make any difference? Cheaters in 1970 or 2020 is just the same. A bunch of people that cannot do otherwise. The only change is that in 2020, those cheaters just answer "It's 2020, we can do what we want, and beside it's how the game is meant to be played", which is full of irony considering they don't even play the game anymore when it comes to Tera ;)

    Hi!

We take cheating very seriously and are doing our best to combat it. In the meantime, if you see someone cheating, please contact Support to report them.

    Raederle

I would love to, but it would require me to record my gameplay cuz a screenshot or anything won't "prove anything" and with the 4mb limitation through support, I doubt there is an actual way to do so... Beside every match is filled with them, it would just be easier if Gameforge would monitor it for a few mins, they'd get hundred of cheaters.

  • I really doubt anything will really happen to them. Ban a few of the cheaters, dozens more pop up in their place, it's sad what these parasites will do to the game.

You know the sad reality, it's the honest gamers that get screwed over

    Take a guess, friend.

I'll give you a hint: Something changed drastically as the time passed on, and it's not the cheaters. You'll figure it out eventually, I believe in you.

Hopefully not that there are less people that care. There is no argument you could make that would excuse cheating.

I disagree with this statement. Tera community is relatively small and keeping those cheaters hardly even benefit Gameforge (or mEME in the past), it's in general people who running the blackmarket, it also pisses the honest gamers as you said so it's a lose lose so they totally should do something about it. I mean they constantly have to deal with exploiters on everything, sadly... Duping gear, Duping cards, Duping everything... At that point what's the goal of doing all this minus screwing up with a dev team or publisher that refuses to take down the backdoor. I mean it all lead to that. Some nice people will probly get pissed about it, but overall, since 64bit, the game is slightly more stable so it's alot more viable (regardless of the countless amount of bugs around).

There is no "hydra scheme" in banning a few cheaters. I mean it's just as toxic as people harrassing others with DPS Meter, in normal circumstance DPS Meter is just a guide of progression, yet few people abuse it, same goes here. Also swinging the ban hammer usually put people on the shaking mode, cuz they don't want to lose everything (including irl income for most of them).

That's an understatement. I do not only believe that there are "less people that care", I think that the majority of the players left (which are probably about 80-100 or so), are completely fine with it in one way or the other.

Which doesn't make it any better, but fighting against it is like counting the stars in the night sky - it's useless and a moot point.

Which explains why most people complain about it. Also assuming there is 80-100 players only mean you playing on kaia (maybe), cuz there are guild with more than that amount of active people on velik. Yet, people aren't "Okay with cheating", never been. Proxy and stuff is most likely "fine" but even those who using that aren't okay with exploiters, dupers, etc. People are complaining to the point where they prefer no event over watching exploiters abuse it.

  • Easiest solution to fix this kind of cheating would be rolling on the stuff and not free-for-all.

Yes/no, I would just add a random box per player or per winners, simple, fair for all, would make people actually play and now just suicide in middle to leech, but your solution would be a big improovement already.

Oh, that only depends on the level of cheating, I can tell you.

Let's take a specific person in example, Aimbot, infinite usage of Hotcider for instance, would you find that tolerable? I mean I don't talk about mod, skill prediction, etc. even "no animation" is mostly tolerated, even though it nearly double dps and is totally cheating, most elitist will tolerate it cuz it benefit them, but it is still game breaking and should get banned instant.

(probly against rules of forum to call out names, so I did not mention who it was, but he's in Wintera still, and many people reported him already. Faced quite often against him and he could just perma full heal)

Of course it is not tolerable. Never said cheating is tolerable. Any kind of cheating is not tolerable.

At the same time and this is what I've been trying to tell you, you explained it yourself why revealing the identity of the cheater in the forums is just gonna get you in trouble with the mods:

This game lost already its race against the cheaters, it's full of them since god-only-knows-when. Even if some lovely CoMas come and tell you they take your issue seriously, it's more like to spit you in the face. The cheaters that ruin your experience of the once-so-great game TERA probably won't ever get banned, support will ask for more proof, since it's not enough. This game and the community as a whole are too far gone off the deep end and are beyond saving - that's what I think at least.

Don't get me wrong: I sort of admire that you went that one step and went to the forums regarding this issue. I just consider the situation as a whole regarding banning cheaters beyond ridiculous because there are still so many running rampant - even ones of the worst kind. I'm not mad at all that you try to report cheaters (which is what you claimed earlier), I think it's just plain useless as nothing happened to many of those cheaters despite all those reports. It just shows GF don't care that much about them.
