The Classes of TERA: The Slayer

  • After the Berserker comes the Slayer class, whose weapon of choice is a mighty two-handed sword. In contrast to the Berserker, the Slayer carries a sword which is so enormous that it can only be held with the support of two hands.

Despite his hefty weapon the Slayer’s armour is relatively lightweight, much like the armour favoured by Warriors and Archers. This means his agility is less affected than the Berserker’s and he can dodge oncoming attacks by dropping and rolling sideways.

Thanks to the extensive range of the Slayer’s sword he is perfectly adapted for taking on large groups of opponents, which he can inflict massive damage on in one fell swoop. Using his Whirlwind skill the Slayer is also able to dispatch droves of smaller enemies with the speed of a rushing gale.

When a Slayer happens upon a single opponent he concentrates on his overhand strikes, which can bring down even the largest and strongest of foes. Like Berserkers, experienced Slayers can mete out fivefold damage upon opponents already brought to their knees.

Another trait shared with the Berserker is the heavy reliance on mana for the most powerful skills. Using combo-attacks and repeated strikes the Slayer gradually builds up strength and can then use his most powerful attacks, sending foes reeling to the ground.

The Slayer is able to utilise additional skills, which, for a few seconds at least, allow him to execute his attacks without losing any mana. The Slayer also possesses skills which temporarily increase his speed. These, together with his dodging roll, quickly bring enemies within the range of his deadly weapons.

  • And that's my 2nd most favorite class ! :D
This video was better than the last ones with the Mage and the Archer but still you need more improvement with your presentations whoever does them... are you intresting in a gamer to make the records? I'd 'sacrifice' myself to do the job ! :p

PS: And pls.... lvl50 Slayer farming mobs at the starting zone? Show some more respect to the lowbie mobs :( They don't deserve to be handling with 1shots

    PS2: I forgote to say thanks :):)

  • Ah, the slayer with his/her huge sword.
Would love to see mobs that doesnt (almost) die on the first hit in the videos.

  • Awesome! Thank you very much!

......The One you love to hate......

Final day of glorious CM "Silvanoshi" and CR "Sealath", best of luck to both of you

    who's next?

What level is that slayer ?

As it's vissible in the upper left corner of the screen he's 50lvl. The lvl cap is 60

  • well atleast he isnt critting for 11000.... like aion had....

  • Very nice video, although i'd like to see the Slayer using also his dodging ability. But of course, with such a big difference in lvl between him and the mobs in the particular video, there was no need to dodge anything.

But anyway, thanks for the video :)

  • I am going to play slayer, but what disgusts me is walking animation, he carries his weapon like a dwarf, don't you agree guys?
I would like devs to change it, or give us an option to set how we are going to carry our weapon.

  • ok, I looked at the videos, and was very scared. Isn't there a single person out there who knows how to play the class?

There are no really many ways to hold a huge weapon like that... it's not like you can hold it with your 1 hand. But the way every class and every gender hold each weapon is diferent. In the case of Slayer I noticed that a female human holds it down while running [...] and here is a duel between lvl 1 noobies Slayer and Priest, fighting with their normal hits... and when the priest went low to HP he started casting the MP regenaration spell! :p FAIL! [...] The Baraka Slayer holds it somehow strange, he holds it high but without droping it in his shoulders

  • i actually like the way he holds the sword.... and the little bit of plating on the shoulder is nice too (so the sword doesnt cut through his shoulder just from the weight) ... i would prefer to choose which hand you are dominant with ....

That reminded me the way a dwarf holds a greatsword in lineage 2... absolutely the same...

  • Very awesome screenshots and video!. I love them!

  • Greetings,

@RivAngE : I'll remind you that posting video links from the korean CBT3 and the FGT is not allowed since they are under NDA.

  • I like the info, but i think the same, the video of the berserker was much better, at least he wasn't 1 hit killing the mobs xD. About the stance of the slayer, from what I've seen, it depends on the race/gender (Is that what you meant Rivange?) i.e the female Castanic holds it down, similar to the human f but lower. All the races have its own animation for every single class (even death animations are different xD) and thats quite cool because you'll notice the difference between players sharing class but with different races.
PS thx for the reminder Tylmard, I thought only the FGT was under NDA not KCB3, good to know

Sorry, Tylmard I didn't know. Videos from Korean CBT are all over YouTube so I though it would be fine to link them. I appologies
