Creating a dungeon where level 70 and level 30 can play together

  • i am not so sure if others had make this suggestion before or not . so here i goes.


    recently i realise that the number of level 70 players are more than the number newbie who just started in the game .so i thought that if Tera can have a dungeon where level 70 and level 30 player in same party and can have fun together. where the calculation can be a bit complicated here.


    1. for example, 2 level 30 player and 3 level 60 players join together and go for a dungeon where the reward of the experience and gold will be given individually according to the player level (such as by giving for example 3 % of total experience for the entire level 60 for each time they kill the boss monster). this mean that a level 60 player will get 3% experience from their total experience in level 60 . and level 30 player also get 3% for their experience level.


    2. and also the catch is this dungeon level all the player damage to equal . for example a level 60 player when that hit the boss, their damage is also about the same as when a level 30 player hit the boss. so the only advantage of clearing this dungeon is depend on the number of team party member they have.


    the other alternatives is that the boss hp varies each time depending on the number of level player in the party. for example Party A ( level 30, 35 , 50, 60 and 70) is different from Party B (level 30, 45, 50). so we can expect that Party A boss has longer hp than party B boss. something like that.


    3. and and also when the boss give damage, the damage absorb by the player also depend on the player level (which is also to be done according to the percentage damage calculation). meaning a level 60 player will get damage as a level 60 player do and level 30 player will get damage as a level 30 player will do from the same attack from the boss . so, a level 60 player will find killing the boss equally challenging same as when a level 30 player kill the boss.


    as for the item reward, it can be given individually according to the level category of the player such as level 10-30 player get different item from level 31 to 70 player.


    *if this work, then it might be possible to let player of all level whether they are level 20 , level 48 , level 62 to join together and have fun as a team.

  • If i recall correctly years ago you could queue IM to help new players in lower instances but the rewards were trash ( ugh, a news.. ) so the whole system got replaced with solo versions of low level content.
    Your idea might be cool too but the core problem is that Devs are far from being smart.

  • I find it a really interesting idea, a dungeon that includes different mechanics for each party member to clear depending on the level of the players that join it, may be fun too.


    However considering players can join/leave anytime it may be technically challenging to adjust.

  • pheon1982 This was done with battlegrounds (I remember being able to queue corsair stronghold and everyone would be lvl 60 there) - that would be easier to do than what you suggested with flattening damage dealt and received
