10 years of Tera, 10 years of horrible communication by gameforge

  • I'm smarter than you. You're seriously brain dead if you think there was only one difference between GF and Enmasse. but whatever.

  • So again, the only difference to gameforge is, that they banned proxy and i hope GF will ban proxy as well.

its just too late and would be ineffective

pretty much all of the major exploits that happened did not even require the proxy to begin with, it was as simple as just figuring out how the server expected requests to come in and come ot realization the server doesn't actually properly check to see if said requests are valid or within reason.

at this point banning it would only make it so people would look for different means of doing the same crap, while the people that did the damage dont rely on it or have their own tools to break the game.

  • To be honest, Frogster and then Gameforge did not make good job. But it was not terrible as well. They are not responsible for bad game development. This game had few publishers over the world, Bluehole recived feedback from all of them and did nothing possitive for the game. Devs are the ones to blame here.

  • So gameforge, what is the current status of fixing this bugs. Dont tell us that there are no news. Tell us what actions you have done and whats kraftons answeres are. This bugs are the reason shorehold dont pop that much anymore. So why the hell you dont force to fix this embarassing situation? threea  Atmorph stop ignoring this, your community is leaving cause you dont take actions.

    We just want transparent informations!!!!

you poked them inb4 thread lock.

  • Tera is one of Gameforge's most profitable/popular games/products if I am not mistaken. Considering the current state of Tera, which is not that good in my opinion, I wonder how other GF-games, which have fewer players, meaning less revenue for GF, are able to survive. I am generally interested in how gaming companies manage their revenue and how high their costs are, determining their profit. Obviously Gameforge won't share their figures, but it would be interesting to know how much it costs to maintain/publish a game like Tera (and how this applies to "cheaper" titles).

Now onto something more topic related... I don't think Community Managers are the one to blame for the lack of communication. After all, they're only the "mouthpiece" of GF and they can merely output what GF gives them. Tera has had many, many changes in the head of Community Management over the last couple of years and have you ever noticed any significant change or improvement? So, GF should be criticized instead because Community Managers can only forward feedback to GF, but they cannot change policies or take over management decisions. These decisions are made in other councils within GF.

  • I don't think Community Managers are the one to blame for the lack of communication.

I think they can improve in that regard. Thankfully with new year's announcements we're already seeing some involvement and I hope this will not stay a one time thing.

Community Managers can only forward feedback to GF

They can also forward back from GF to the community.
