10 years of Tera, 10 years of horrible communication by gameforge

  • Not gonna repeat myself. Gameforge is bad, Enmasse/Nexon are worse. Thats the whole point of this discussion.

The fk bro? Just because they improved over time doesn't necessarily mean that it is good. Its still garbage but just not as bad as it was before - huge difference :elin15:

    Done.

  • I don't care if I came form NA "Problems with Gameforge." I 100% guarantee you after Enmasse became garbage as a publisher NA undoubtedly had the worst publisher experience and game experience for Tera online after VM8.. Do not make me laugh. "Bro you from the NA and you.." if that's your only argument do that is fairly pathetic. Frankly I don't give a damn about any other problems you have with game forge as a publisher I just care about Tera and for what they have done with Tera. Its been a lot better than it used to be. You wanna complain about them a s a publisher for every other game? be my guest But you want to talk shit about them as a publisher for Tera? Get freaking lost.

New Gameforge Fanboy/Girl ? get rekt in a few months <3

So now this is a contest between GF/EMA ? How about working to the same goal

  • Do I understand correctly that the name "Polan" become a household name? :/

Yes it is, and i explain you why. Doesnt matter with who you talking in support, when Polan dont like how it goes, he is closing the support request. I had a good conversation with another supporter where i felt like someone listen to me... But then next and last answer wasnt by this supporter, it was Polan with a robot answer and closing the ticket. It looks like he is protecting memeslasher.

  • I feel like everyone who responded to me is confusing Community Manager with Social Media Manager.

    Quote

Also like to mention that as a CM is EXACTLY THEIR JOB to read forum 24/7 and if im wrong please tell me what other tasks they have.

    Incorrect. A Social Media Manager's job would consist of an 8-10 hour job of reading all avenues of communications, such as Forums, Twitter, Facebook, etc. (Yes, forums are counted as Social Media.) A Community Manager has other things to do aside from reading the forums all day. These things usually include, but are not limited to;

    • Writing up multiple reports to file throughout the day with their boss(es).
    • Attend company meetings when applicable.
    • Looking after their other communities aside from just one. (Most CM's are spread out over multiple communities if the company is big enough; i.e: Gameforge is one example)
    • Working with the different internal teams on whatever might be applicable to the current situation at hand. (i.e: They see mention of something in the forum, can't find any information on it, and they go ask QA to test it and let them know. Sometimes it's something quick and they stay with QA to get their answer. Otherwise, QA will get back to them and they'll move onto their other tasks.
    • Any other mundane tasks that are required on a company to company basis, which varies company to company, but aren't 100% inside your normal hired scope.

If you think about it; Fall Guys' Community Manager does not sit on Twitter all day (aside from the fact that Twitter isn't their full-domain, but again, that's besides the point.) That isn't their job. Sure they post memes and make us feel good and want to continue to play, but that isn't all they do. Same applies to Gameforge. It's nobody's job anywhere in the world (unless they just have money, time, and resources to spare out the butt) where your only job is one thing, let alone letting that one thing being reading a forum.

Also Buschfunker is not writing these threads just because he is bored of his mind and doesnt have anything to do at home. He's not behaving like a child and just because you work as a CM somewhere and you take his threads personally does not mean that you can call him child and call his posts "bellyaching" (what a nice CM if you call the threads like that).

There's a difference between actually constructively pointing out the issues, and constantly breaking the rules (i.e: Calling out Threea as I already mentioned) and taking out your frustrations. The former is being constructive and useful. The latter is being a child, the differences are night and day. I never said he was a child, I said he acts like one, and he does.

As it shouldn't have to be explained, in this area I'm a community member just like you and everyone else. I have no power here. Therefor I will act as a normal person, not a CM. As a CM, it's like management; You have to act nice to all the Karens in the world, but the moment you're off the clock, the rest doesn't matter when someone's rude or disrespectful. You don't have to wear a fake smile and pretend to be nice to someone who's sitting here threatening your life over something that isn't your problem. :) Meat shields; like I mentioned earlier.

Same cheaters appear every week in the pvp events, and every season same cheaters appear on leaderboard dungeons in pve and when we send screentshots to Polan (because obviously we cant make a video of them in the dungeon since we cant enter with them) he responds back with bot answers and says there arent enough evidence

Assuming you did provide all the proper evidence, there should be an exhaustive list of reports against said person they can reference later. However if people are memeslashing in PVP, you can easily send in a video, no? (If you haven't already.) Assuming all of this is done, this actually is concerning that they're just sitting on it. If you can't provide the date and time (including timezone), name and server, and hard-hitting evidence (videos in pvp, etc) then that's part of why Polan (who I searched around for and didn't actually see that much hate on the man) can't do anything. If people seriously run into people on the weekend bragging about memeslashing and gameforge not working on weekends, screenshot all that and send it in with the rest of the evidence, it'd be a big help.

Does getting "getting punished" or getting "silenced" "locked" whatever you wanna call it when we get locked thread for breaking some rules apply only on us? Us being the players in this case, or does it apply on the employees too?

Should it apply to employees? Yes. Does it? Usually not unless it's something huge. This is their playground. Their workspace. They control it. The only people who can actually punish them are their bosses, so to answer your direct question, yes, it only applies to us, the players. We cannot silence the Moderators, Administrators, or CMs on the forum. That isn't how it works.

    Quote

Maybe they shouldnt be a CM if they got nothing to say 97% of the time, and when they DO have something to say its this

    "this thread is locked now"

    I literally touched on this on my original response. To quote;

    Quote

    When a Community Manager is silent, it usually means a few things;

    1. They have nothing to report, so they don't post on threads they either haven't responded to yet, or ones they've already posted on.
    2. There's internal discussions taking place, usually due to feedback from the community, bug reports, etc which need to take place prior to planning a Corrective Action Plan if applicable. (again, see Point 1.)
    3. Threads like your other one listed here where you're breaking the forum rules (and by your account previously, you've mentioned you've broken them time and time again because you mentioned warnings, etc.) and personally targeting one of the CMs and doing a call-out.

However I did forget to add one tip I had typed at the bottom of my original post and then deleted it to keep track of my train of thought as I was typing it thinking I had added it. Another reason a CM may be silent aside from those three above is because they're told by higher-ups to be silent on this or that matter (aside from the typical baited-questions "How does your autoban system work" as an example). This is unusual and uncommon in the world of Community Management, especially in the video game industry, but sometimes mixed with a few of the other three reasons, they're told to stay silent, and have to do so, or risk their jobs.

    Quote

IT says in the name COMMINUTY MANAGER , not Thread LOCK MANAGER.

Yes, correct. However, they're above the Administrators (your "Thread Lock Managers") and Moderators. Again; this is Gameforge's playground and they handle things as they see fit, therefor, if a topic is breaking the rules they're allowed to lock it, just like the board staff can. Same for warning or banning a user who is disruptive. Same principle applies.

    Quote

because none of us are 10 year old kids who never communicated with supports in any other game, we know a thing or two how support works and how it SHOULD work.

Nobody said you didn't, however what you see on the outside vs what is happening on the inside are two completely different beasts, of which the former you know and are aware of; the latter you are not.

  • Assuming you did provide all the proper evidence, there should be an exhaustive list of reports against said person they can reference later.

People have been doing that for months/years now. There is absolutely zero reason to not ban these people - there is enough proof and tons of people reported them with video-proof, time, date, name, everything thats needed and available. But either these people working at Gameforge for some reason don't want to ban cheaters or they're just too lazy to do their work.

    Done.

  • Are you sure you know how to search around?

I purposely omitted a Twitter account I found where they were calling him...well, things you wouldn't catch me calling anyone, even on a bad day, but I think that's obvious why I omitted it.

In regards to in-house and on the forum I searched "Polan, Support, Representative" and only saw maybe a max of 4-5 threads calling him awful, etc.

I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way. This isn't personal, as this doesn't concern me directly, however if there's something going on with Gameforge I'd like to get to the bottom of it sooner rather than later. I have seen several other instances where credible information was found/posted, however a majority of it is baiting staff or attacking them; again, not the right way to go about it. Just because you're being a butthole doesn't mean you should be 100% ignored, but for the majority it's probably deserved if you're devolving into personal attacks based off assumptions from your perspective of things.

  • LevinSnakesRise You created your account 2 weeks ago just to protect GF staff.

Nobody takes you seriously and you totally failed your mission.

    - GF staff, the self proclaimed "TERA experts" that btw can't even play nor understand their own game after 7 YEARS!!!

    - The shop monetisation is HORRIBLE and they are losing extreme amount of money.

    - They don't ban cheaters. There were cheaters in this game for 3+ years already, they started with teleporting in CS long distance, stun resistance, damage resistance and activating scripts so that other players cant use attacks/skills with their characters. I reported them multiple times but i still kept seeing them playing. And as we know now, this was just the beginning.

    GF is not competent.
Also look at their job requirements and compare it with their staff

They are searching for people that are doctors, that should also be McGyvers, that should also be Nikola Teslas and 870 IQ is also a must have...

Koreans also totally lost the touch with TERA as if the old korean developers/staff all left and a bunch of idiots took over. But this thread is not about them, this is about GF.

  • Not a fan boy. just someone who can thing coherent and intelligently. again i don't give a damn what gameforge does to their other games.

  • See this is where assumptions seriously come into play and start deluding truth and fiction and start making you believe what isn't true as fact.

I've been around Gameforge for years, albeit under a different name in different games. This is my TERA NA account for TERA. How bold of you to assume I haven't been around for longer just by going by this account's information.
Also if you'd bothered looking at my post history like you have my join date, you'd know I was a migrator, and not just someone creating an account to whiteknight gameforge. You'd also know my history on both TERA and EnMasse in general.

Do you always speak off the handle without thinking, or? Clearly you do, but thought I'd ask for clarification.

    Quote

    GF is not competent.

They aren't the only one if that's the case, lol

  • I dont understand why you try to explain what a CM does, while i allready wrote and linked what gameforge is looking for in my starting post.

Also judged it. The current CM's dont even do, what gameforge wrote in their job description.

To be honest idc if you call my actions childish. As I wrote enough is enough. We tried it over years to be polite, we tried to communicate with gameforge, we did many suggestions, we did suggestions everyone would be happy with, we tried to fix problems, we organize our own punishment system for cheaters in pvp discord cause gameforge dont do it. So please, dont say again we still have to be polite. Beeing polite didnt helped us, cause gameforge and their CM's never really communicated with us, with the community. So we reached a point after 10 years gameforge didnt care about our problems where the community began to rage. We dont even get fully translated patchnews after 10 years and you still want us to be polite? For what reason?

The population of this game became so low and we are at a point, where it only makes sense to continue publishing a game, when the publisher is communicating to the community. Otherwise the last remaining players will leave this game. Sadly, the CM and GF are not in the mood to communicate. All we get are the same robot answers..

  • Yes it is, and i explain you why.

    Yes..yes he is.

you can provide a ticket that does exactly what they request regarding a cheater but if polan is the one getting it that btch is getting closed.

  • Not a fan boy. just someone who can thing coherent and intelligently. again i don't give a damn what gameforge does to their other games.

    Intelligent ?

Enmasse was shittier than Gameforge .. This doesnt makes Gameforge good ... Just not as shitty then Enmasse.

Gameforge is only interrestet in Money.. Dont get me wrong .. every company is.

But Greedy with a shitty game, only financed with addicted players/players who cant let go/whales is on a whole new level.

Since when was Enmasse shittier than GF? What happened to the guys praising the "Blessed TERA of Enmasse", the "Tera of Glory" and I-don't-even-care-what-was-it-called and switching TERA versions like madmen?

    Ultima | Lv70 Priest | ILv 498 | Yurian | Main
    Aeq | Lv70 Archer | ILv 466 | Yurian | Ex-Main
    Quest | Lv70 Zerk | ILv 470
    | Yurian | what a joke

    Game Over.

Lordz of Ownage - 11/09/13 - Never forget

  • Wrong, boy are you stupid if that's the level of intelligence you come up with. Enmasse was shitter than Gameforge for not listening to the community not giving us events changing the rate at which people got and could earn gold and silver talents, making gear vastly more annoying and difficult to acquire so on and so forth. It wasn't just proxy it was a majority of things.

  • Grow up and quit your bellyaching if you don't have any actual arguments to complain about.

The actual arguments have been described I believe, some of them being:

-Lack of appropriate action on cheaters

-Detailed reports including video proof becoming "useless" according to the op

-One way communication between the management team and the community

    -More transparency required

    -Years of feedback apparently ignored

-Accurate list of bugs still not being tackled in the game

And the reason we are so mad and dont explain things in a calmly manner is that we have already done that SO MANY times and they dont give a fuk about what we have to say.

You don't have to take words for this one, a simple check in the archives suffices to see how feedback has been provided and managed so far.

Meat shields; like I mentioned earlier.

I've also got experience in the customer service area and I can relate it's certainly like that at some point, thankfully most of the people working there are not being enslaved into choosing this particular job/position. I'd say most can imagine this is a part of what it takes to get paid in that particular area.

If people seriously run into people on the weekend bragging about memeslashing and gameforge not working on weekends, screenshot all that and send it in with the rest of the evidence, it'd be a big help.

People talk about this not only on the weekends, but on the daily in multiple channels, you could say by now it's a known fact within the EU community and not a novelty thing.

At this point it is widespread that no action will be taken by Gameforge representatives on weekends, no matter the level of cheat. Unless it's something which affects the cash shop, in which case it's arguable when would actions take place.

Many players from different guilds have claimed to have sent reports concerning cheaters at some point, videos and screenshots of them are well distributed between the pvp community and easily accessible.

There isn't a lack of evidence whatsoever and should there be you can contact me for some more evidence on this as I'm sure I could provide it. Also this evidence can be backed up by more people that have been present to Civil Unrest.

This particular evidence, is reproducible and something that you can check yourself by making an account in Mystel, leveling it up, getting into a participating guild that has at least 4 more members coming that did quests and joining Civil Unrest, any Sunday.

All of the above steps too complicated? Fear not! As video evidence can be manipulated, I could even stream it for you if we get to the point where such verification is necessary.

I can confirm first hand that memeslashing is still happening on the weekends with proper times, locations, name and all of the necessary proof.

this actually is concerning that they're just sitting on it.

If they are just sitting on it, then yes it is really concerning, unacceptable and something should be done about it asap.

We tried it over years to be polite, we tried to communicate with gameforge, we did many suggestions, we did suggestions everyone would be happy with, we tried to fix problems, we organize our own punishment system for cheaters in pvp discord cause gameforge dont do it.

I don't believe communication can happen smoothly if we're not being polite. I also disagree about everyone being happy with the mentioned suggestions, as a fast example I was not particularly happy about just having one channel for PK.

However, I do agree on the part where there have been several constructive threads forwarding feedback, which seem to have been blatantly ignored and how there has been a certain community effort to deal with this issue due to the lack of sufficient actions on cheaters from our publishers.

And for the above reason, I believe that even though we shouldn't be rude, we can be more firm than we used to be about communications not working out in a satisfactory way for both the company and its clients.

It's not encouraged of course but it is also no surprise that people eventually lose their cool after putting their best into improving something which they benefit from, but it's not even their job and being met with some of the replies you can find on these forums.

If you follow the threads' evolution and see the way things are being handled, you'll notice it would take a robot not to react to it.

So again, the only difference to gameforge is, that they banned proxy and i hope GF will ban proxy as well.

We have no communication with gameforge.

    Regarding Events. Lol.

Go into the feedback and suggestion area. List me 1 single suggestion gameforge implement in the game. Good luck with all your intelligence.
