Linking the Gameforge Client to Steam

The FAQ says:

If you also played TERA on Steam, you will be asked whether you want to migrate on Steam as well. Please note that account linking between the Gameforge Client and Steam will only continue to work by successfully migrating on Steam as well.

But I can't figure out how to link the client and Steam. I've installed the game through Steam, and it works, but now, if it want to start the game through the client, it wants me to install the game again. I'm assuming if I link them, the client will know the game is already installed?

Alright, I think I've got them linked now, but the Gameforge Client still doesn't recognize that the game is already installed. Am I going to have to install the game twice if I want to use the client and steam?

I've figured out how to use both the GF Client and Steam with a single install. You need to install the game in your Steam library location (...\Steam\steamapps\common\TERA) with the GF Client FIRST. Then when you install the game in Steam, it will just verify the files (no downloading), and the game will be playable once verifying is done.

It did that for me too at first. Then a few times the Tera login page gave me an error saying it was already linked instead of going back to the Steam log-in.

So it should have worked? (all my characters were then when I logged in through Steam)
