Hey GF - Tera Classic when?

  • I just want to understand the "Split Playerbase" argument that's all.

    For players that just enjoy one of both versions this shouldn't be an issue, until they face a mysterious lack of activity from other players.


    Some people including myself would enjoy both versions, so they'd have to decide which of both to play considering timed events and that both require grind to progress and a day has a limited amount of hours. That may result in a limited amount of players for either of both and content not popping as it should.


    I don't get why they can't just delete the PvP gear and stick with a single equipment that works for both.

    As much as this sounds very convenient, there are several things I'd consider before implementing a single equipment set.


    Probably not the reason but if there was only one set the way things are now, this would delete miles of character and gameplay customization. The 3 pvp exchangeable piece sets + pve set opened new gameplays for many classes.

    Certain combos, bam stealing, reflection, aggressive vs defensive, buff canceling battle dynamics were not into the game before this and may get erased on a single gear choice.


    But generally speaking I'd agree to reimplement a system of gear with different page rolls similar to the one we had previously, but without RNG (or with minimal RNG) and requesting you to clear specific instances/bgs/ow quests to be able to get tradeable loot to acquire certain rolls for example.

  • Always hated Gameforge but what i hate more than greedy publishers is lazy Developers.
    Tera is still a decent pve game and GF is doing a better job ( yeah you can say that's easy ) compared to years ago.
    PvP got killed by Bluehole and even a Classic server would need updates at some point to keep players around, it'd be an endless cycle.

    About Classic server, its gargabe, i played last time when they open it, and gameplay was very bad compared to now. Apex are great, EP, glyphs etc are great too. No need for Classic server thats has nothing to grind. Lazy players always complain about things that are great.

    Still its only You opinion. Like You have you own opinin, i have my own, and i like more separated gears than one gear. So its better for me as it is now. Separated gear was very good idea that was added some years ago.


    And about state that you mentioned, also its your oopinion thats it is in wrong state, not everyone.

    In my opinion it is in good state, they only should buff PVP gear more for PVP stats, nothing more need changes.

    Yes its your opinion. Some players told that game is dead from 2016 and what? Game is still open and players play.

    So some players like you telling that game is dead for years dont change the fact that players still playthis game and nothing changes.

  • Yes "someone" is still playing.Only "some".People were giving warnings to them since 2016,and u are seeing current situation is garbage.Thats why people are saying "servers are dead since 2016." Ah dont forget that they merged all servers and still "SOME" players are playing this game and the game is open after merging all servers in to ONE.

    What is next step Mr jubei ? Merging NA-RU-EU in one server?Then what ? Emtpy servers are emtpy and people are leaving this game everyday.

    After all these "merges" events and free items/consumables,people are still suffering in the game.

    And yes i was seeing old players in game when i was playing,What they were doing is "CU" and daily 1-2 min login.

    Yeah servers are so good right?The game is overcrowded but we can not see it LOL.

    With current mechanics of the game,people will never return.They need to develop what was TERA in 2011.And krafton need to fire current lazy,brai...less DEVELOPERS.They turned this game in to BDO copy.Combat wise,pve wise,grind wise.

    NA decline is insane. EU looks better but that's just because most of the playerbase plays through gameforge client. And by the way you're ignoring all the Merges they did. Fraya server alone probably had more pop than all the actual servers <.<


    I'm not saying this game is definitely dead, because it's not, but every time i come back to Tera the playerbase is always smaller and while it's hard to make it grow ( except in the beginning ) for every game, this ons is going down too quickly.

    You can't contest this.

    May I ask what kind of PvP content are you talking about? In which content is PvP gear in a good state?


    In dueling without nostrum in which classes such as warriors have mana struggles? In duels with nostrum in which they can use PvP gear procs to one combo? In Shore Hold in which people using a full set of PvP gear are getting kick voted for not having PvE gloves, boots and accessories? Or in Civil Unrest where the requirements are similar to Shore but you can cheat your way around consumables?

    I hope you don't count the PvP gear for CS...

    Because as you mention grinding is boring, so it's good to have a varied choice of activities to engage in, based on the player and moment preferences. Plus I believe both things can be combined, they don't have to be exclusive from each other, for a long time the broker system itself has been based on this.

    Make materials obtainable from several instances, BGs and open content/events and let people trade each other. Only BiS for min maxing should be untradeable and ask for more dedication/skill to make a difference in the endgame.

    Similar rather than the same, just keep the good part of it. The changes I'd like to see implemented are specific requirements to lock rolls or non specific requirements but removal of the RNG by letting you choose the rerolls (and having an item to change them later on if you don't like your old ones). Plus at least 5 templates for each gear piece, to fit EP and character slots.


    The single gear multiple pages system has been the best so far imho, but still too driven by RNG.

    Care explaining the reason why you like this more? It's more space in the inventory for no new benefit as far as I've seen.


    The only possible benefit I see to this is trade, but then again liberation scroll has a 5 use limit and I don't think it works on PvP gear at all.

    Then again I'd be interested in knowing what kind of PvP content do you engage in to think this is a good idea.


    Definitely PvP gloves and boots would benefit from a boost to be usable in PvP at all but besides that I'm not entirely sure if I get why you'd like to see this implemented.


    Also what kind of buff would you apply? To which stats? I don't think PvP gear lacks in dealing damage vs other PvP gear, maybe it should deal extra damage vs PvE gear though.

  • People who dont have a clue about mmorpg pvp side,check the most watched mmorpg's and check which players are getting more viewers in twitch when they are doing pve and pvp.Pvp is the main thing for MMORPG's.Thats why people cant find a good mmorpg novadays.Thats why people are waiting for new fresh pvp based mmorpgs.

    Pvp is an end game content for mmorpg,not pve.You can reach the pve goal after some months,but pvp is increasing your skills more than pve.And skills are talking in PVP content.Not same mechanics and memorization.Killing same boss with same mechanics over and over can make you happy for some time,but at the end u will get bored.But in pvp,you are competing with other "real" players.Not NPC's.And memorization doesnt work in pvp.U need to use your max effort for competing with others.

    Current Tera population is mostly pver,farmer,grind lover.Just lol.


    Ah btw,i forget to say,the latest old players are also suffering in CU.You know cheats everywhere.İnvisible people are attacking towers,support doesnt work and saying "we need more proof" even if u send proof video.


    So much fun and the game is alive right?


    EDIT: Also how pathetic was TBA and krafton/gameforge were like "NEW EPİC PVP MODE" blabla.They just removed it after 1 months.Just think about it,developers are making new "%90 copy of current tera with battle royale mode" and believing "it will bring more people and make happy pvp players JUST ROFL.

  • Hello, old 2012 p2p player here (i have a founder account), i really miss the last Tera Classic server, can you at Gameforge please consider another event like this with old VM1 content?

    Like a lot the open world Nexus system and Blast from the Past dungeons feature where you can downlevel yourself and repeat the old dungeons with new players for fascion coupons or other usefull items, i did it so many times in the past till BH studio remove this feature, then after i hit 65 i leaved the game since it became a bam and dungeon grindfest where open world and pvp became useless. This killed Tera for me, i do not like the new skill and ability system.


    I like to play a mmorpg with tons of people in the same area, it give me a feeling of freedom and warm.


    Please GF consider to open a permament server with 2012 p2p content and level 60 cap, with Nexus, Blast form the past dungeon system, and open world pvp content, i will back to play. Guaranteed.


    @Vayus - Please tell GF to consider this, expecially for players who do not play anymore because they do not like the last updates and where the game is heading, thank you.


    ps: Maybe someone can open a pool to gather enought request to open a classic server?

  • Please make CLASSICC!!!! i play 6-7 years on EU 1-2 years and after on RU!!! after i retired the game to lag/drop fps after much patches make CLASSIC PLEASE!!! VM1-vm2 VANARCH/EXARCH BEEST!!! better with no Reaper but if with reaper Okaaay...
