last thing they want is to fragment the playerbase again.

As much as i'd like a classic server it would split the playerbase even more.
People looking to experience the "old times" would get bored after a while and then... ? -

more fun than standing around waiting for queues -

My English is not that great but Excuse me if this sounds rude but, I really don't understand the "Split Playerbase" argument at all.
I mean... players who don't like current Tera don't play at all, and if you add Classic Server and they play that, I still don't think you can call it a split because they enjoy Tera Classic.
So Basically having both Current Tera & Classic Tera servers means people have options to choose their desired version. and having ONLY Current Tera means they have no choice but to... well... quit.
I can understand the desire for players to stay and play, but forcing them to play a watered down version of the game only makes them quit entirely (like me and many others as far as I can tell).
[If there is a chance for Classic Pve and Pvp server, might want to make matchmaking (dungeons and battlegrounds and the like) Cross-Server to allow a bigger pool of players to join]
I already went on a big Rant on another thread so I'll stop here. I just want to understand the "Split Playerbase" argument that's all.
To those who enjoy current game, all power to you and game on.

or they can do what they did with killian, get rid off options, stop people playing the game the way they want, then pretend theres no problem when 80% off them start playing other games or sit around exploiting becuase they dont care what the game has became
i loved killian PK and fraywind, thay got removed, half my friends quit, i lost like 40 people in one update and now i log in, send my pets on dailys, abuse the broker and thats pretty much it -

Like i said i would play a classic version instead of the current one. I mean i don't really dislike the current Tera but i can't deny that it's 99% PVE and i miss the old times where you could do both Pve and Pvp.
Pretty sure that i wouldn't be the only one leaving live servers so yeah, the population would probably split.
Then we'd have to talk about updates, because yeah PvP is fun but playing years with only a handful of instances as endgame would be boring, maybe not for you, but surely for me and people like me.
What do we do ? Same path as current Tera <.< ?
Gameforge surely likes easy money ( like every publisher ) so if there was a chance to do that without risking too much we'd probably already have a classic server... -

What do we do ? Same path as current Tera <.<In my honest opinion, the thing that kills current Tera right now is that players are told: "you can only have fun at the end (Endgame)", which is pretty bad considering the lack of things to do in endgame AND the journey to that point is so DULL that people quit midway because they lose interest. I've seen complaints about not being able to play with 4 of their friends in low level dungeons causing to lose interest and the fact that you can only play with 5 players in a dungeon only in endgame...just that alone is demoralising.
Last time I logged into Tera to do some pvp matches, I waited HOURS just to log out at the end. and also continually going afk at town hubs to que for PvE dungeons got boring really really quickly. (it was also hard trying to get into a group that isn't doing the hardest dungeons)
So to answer your question of: "will there be anything to do later on in classic Tera after we played most of the content?" to which I will answer with another question: "Is there anything to do RIGHT NOW after we reach Endgame content?" - - - the reason I ask it like that is the fact that the only content existing right now is at endgame and THAT'S. IT. nothing else.
Leveling? Dead.
PvP? good luck finding any.
PvE? Dungeons only.
Crafting?lmfao.
Fishing?...Why? why is this considered a must thing to do just to stay afloat when it comes to upgrading your gear blows my mind.
Exploring? what for?
There's just a lack of everything to do in this game that the golden ages of Tera did in-fact had, but had to be completely killed off like the things I mentioned above.
So again, Classic server might not be the ultimate thing that will make Tera top the charts as the best mmorpg, but it will be way better than anything many players are experiencing (or rather the lack of...) now and most likely in future patches to come.
(sorry about that, going on a big rant again...)

That's why i said i'd play a Classic server over current Tera. You don't have to convince me.
Anyway as i already wrote i came back around 10 days ago and i don't find the game as dead as most of you sell on this Forum.
Yes, PvP is dead but i'm pretty sure it's not because of Gameforge at this point. Reaching Endgame gear takes a lot of effort and having to grind for a pvp set too is boring.
I don't get why they can't just delete the PvP gear and stick with a single equipment that works for both. I mean i get it... more grind, but again i think that blaming a publisher instead of the developers of the game is pointless.
Tera, imho, had its peak during Alliance content. You could pve, you could pvp and considering +12 was the highest upgrade possible you didn't have to throw hundreds of hours at pve to be competitive.
If only Krafton would focus on something like that again instead of a TERA moba MAYBE even the current version could be enjoyable again without throwing away everything in favor of a classic server... -
Returning player.
I totally agree with the post. I started playing when tera became f2p. The most exciting moment i had as a new player was me being on lancer lvl 18 or 19 trying for 1hour+ (and dying a lot) to kill a basilisk solo.
The fastest basilisk kill (without proper charms and any knowledge of rotation) was 20 mins.. the last 5 min were a hell considering that my weak af charms would expire within 15mins of the fight. Most fights were hell considering that if i died, it would reset.
I did basilisks for about 3 hours and gained 2 levels.
Was the most awesome experience and the reason i fell in love with this game.
The second revelation i had in this game was the fact that slayers had "lifesteal". I'm a huge fan of lifesteal in all games and i rolled a slayer to just bam farm my way to 60.
Except from pvp and guild activities, getting a lancer and a slayer to 60 was the best fun i had in this game.
I would spend more than 200€ if i knew that i could return back to these times for more than 6 months.
I understand that content needs to be upgraded so that people will spend money. But if you make a subscription based tera classic, i think that you would be surprised by the amount of money you will get. -
I'm not sure if there was a classic server in EU before, but if not, then I support the idea of holding such an event.

There was one event back in March(?) of 2019 for like 3 - 6
months*Weeks*. I'm not entirely sure how long actually since I've missed it entirely. The Server was when the Reaper was a thing and Avatar Weapon was a thing (which turned off many people, I would've been turned off aswell tbf). there was a big interest in the idea of an oldschool version of the game regardless and there still is afaik
Anyways i support a Classic Version of Tera (preferably permanent), considering the direction they're going... the Devs are completely deprived of ideas and innovation so, imo they have nothing to lose at this point.
*Edit* Whoops, meant to say Weeks and not months. thanks to poster below for pointing that out

The fall of Tera started with Reaper patch. We just need the patch before Reaper. Also we need alliance patch but not with 3 big maps.1 Map is enough for alliance. It will be open world pk area.Swapping beetween 3 huge maps doesnt make sense.
Anyway these are dreams. They will never do that.So yeah, just sharing our dreams on this forums and nobody cares by gameforge ,krafton side LOL. -

Tera is still a decent pve game and GF is doing a better job ( yeah you can say that's easy ) compared to years ago.
PvP got killed by Bluehole and even a Classic server would need updates at some point to keep players around, it'd be an endless cycle. -

Mate, I'd rather Dream about it, than play what's currently available.
And you are right about the fact that the current leadership (krafton/gameforge w/e) are not gonna do anything.
bUT tERA bATtLE aReNA iS WHat wE WaNT I guess

It was for like 6 weeks (from 12.02 till 31.03). With exp boosts and drop boosts (like BoP items were group loot after some time). Also it was nowhere near the classic version players asked/wanted/suggested/hoped for - it was VM3 content patch but the VM2/VM3 content was like locked for the first few weeks or so, GF idea of "players will gradually grind gear from VM1 > VM2 > VM3 patches so they can >experience< the old gear progression". Yeah, that didn't work as they didn't care (or my bets that they didn't even know) to remove Oculus gear from BT which was strong enough to faceroll every VM1 and VM2 content (iirc it had like WHHM+12/VM2+12 base stats) and was good enough to go straight into VM3 content (RENM or even REHM). So much for "gradually grind gear", not that "grind gear" in 6 weeks would be even enjoyable or fun at all... Getting glyphs was actually a bigger issue than clearing the majority of the available content.
So it was crap not classic
And GF advertising this abomination as "Classic" was just sad for whoever that hoped for like VM1 content... I remember the amount of complaints on this false event crap, and ofc GF didn't care about any of the players' suggestions. If it was for 6 months with VM1 content only, then wooh, that would be something cool. But it wasn't and if GF would once again think of "Classic" and then ignore every player suggestion on how to set up the server then they might as well not even bother as it will be crap again.
(I only came back here to say that, I quit the game after those 6 weeks on the event server, I would jump straight into a vm1-vm2 content update, but I don't keep my hopes at all)

Why do u want Tera Classic Server? We would kill you all in the first 10 minutes -> server implodes -> gg.

I was hoping for a better answer...
Something like Tera Classic permanent one is coming soon.
