[97 patch] The game doesn't start

    I'm sure that after submitting a ticket all I will be advised is to reinstall the game. It seems to be the only solution that works for most. Just takes too long for me. Maybe in time you will release an updated fix. I will check every so often to see if the repair works. Until then I'm happy playing something else.

    Hallo, after tinkering a lot in the systemfiles and VC 2015-2019 redist i was not able to bring the game back to lounch. Ill tryed a lot even a SFC scan - nothing result to lounch the game.

    Also reinstalling the client several times (Sorry for the traffic Gameforge4d) no result to be able to play.

    So i tryed HARD. and even a complete whipe of my Windows and all. A plane fresh installation of Windows 10 (v2004 with all updates and Drivers) and NOTHING ELSE installed. NO RESULTS.

    So after this i just wonderd if it is my Hardware configuration.

    - Windows 10 (2004 /w all updates) x64bit
    -16GB DDR3 1600MHz
    - GF GTX 1070Ti SC
    - Core i7-3770K (not on the recomandation list but my Laptop with an Core i5 2nd gen can run the game)

    What i try is disable the VT tech and redo all OC's even a factory reset on the BIOS.
    YES i spend far to much time into it. but now i give up. and my BF too and he is running a Core i9 9920K

    Maybe we wait for an FIX or delete the game. Sorry but this is not a good progress.

    Wenn ihr mir Ordentlichen Support geben wollt ich kann euch den Rechner in Karlsruhe vors Gebäude werfen. Ist nur ein Katzensprung und es Wäre es mir Wert. Spiele seit 2012 und würde das gerne weiter hin OHNE Tausende von Euronen in einen PC zu stecken nur um zu sehen dass es doch nicht geht.

    The "DxDiag" is a*.txt file and not allowed to be attached.

    EDIT:
    - YES even it said its allowed. It get deleted after Submitting.

    Des Weiteren sind nur die folgenden Formate erlaubt: jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp, txt, pdf

    I actually uninstalled the game and the Gameforge client today. Bit of a problem cus you can't ununstall the Gameforge client if you have fired up the interface in a session. Anyway I recycled the disc space andhave called it a day for Tera. So this will be the last thing I say on the matter. Other than it didn't work for me and I am chucking in the towel. I don't have the game or Gameforge anymore. Phew !


    On that dxdiag thing you can place the file in a ZIP file and send that. I'm guessing. Chrome is so poor. It has no ED function with suitable text editor. OK for some I guess. Dunno, never use it.

    I did just that. The answer, summed up and translated to English:

    So ummm.... anyone got this problem where the game would just not start at all? Just me? I don't really think it's just me since I've seen other people creating similar threads.


    I have tried to follow of the steps as to fix it (following GF's guide) but nothing would work. I have also created a ticket on my other account however, they referred me backed to the '' Patch Notes 97: TERA Goes 64-bit.

    ♠ fully fresh installation might fix this because everyone who had the splash screen bug was forced to reinstall the game fully since all what gameforge said didn't work for anyone (My friend had to re instal a new windows 10 & he had it befor but a full clean thing to make this 64Sh*t works)


    if you have already the recommended setup to run the game and it didn't work try this


    - try to uninstall the Game from gameforge launcher

    - uninstal gameforge launcher

    - do a full scan for any remaining files from the old game Also search in %appdata% for Any Tera or Gameforge files

    - restart your PC and rooter and download the game again (if you had launcher befor - steam might be the big help / or vice versa but also launcher works )

    - if this dsn't work that idk.

    Although I said I was giving up I just couldn't let this lie. So I have spent the last two days in the cooler weather downloading the game again. I had uninstalled and removed the Gameforge client and deleted the folder.


    This time I managed to get into the game. Sadly when in the proximity of other players the game is unplayable. When in Highwatch my inventory never shows anything in it, no matter how long I wait. Other players are just grey blobs. To leave I have to go to the outskirts and use a scroll and hope there is nobody in Tria.


    When outside Highwatch the ground often opens up and vanishes. Like in a layer between the real Tera and a pool below.


    Worst for me is the game has lost all its detail. My character that was sharp as a button is now blurred and there is a strange misty patch to the centre. The detail of the environment is all blurred and it looks like there is a grey mist over the whole area. I have tried looking at settings but this changes nothing.


    At least I can get into game. However if anyone comes into contact with me I freeze to a standstill. System resources are running at over 95% used on memory so I guess the computer cannot handle the game. What is sad is that it was working fine before with no problem. That is in the past now. It really isn't going to be possible to play like this so thanks for letting me get back in, but it's doing my eyes in and I can't deal with blurry screens. I'm gonna plod away and try to get to 70 with this char by doing daily quests and staying out of others way. Then I'll have to think about coming back in the future with a better computer maybe.

    the update, which is meant to improve the game, actually killed her. or rather killed most of the community.

    Game still not working for me. Gets stuck where post #18 gets suck at in this tread.

    What ive done:

    Update to 64bit, didnt work

    uninstall game then launcher

    reboot

    ccleaner

    reboot

    install launcher

    re-download 100? gigs

    game freeze at same place as post 18

    download and install x86 and 64 from patch fix suggestions page

    reboot

    game still will not load, watching task launcher starts game banner shows up then its not responding in task manager. Game will stay at 47% cpu usage minimal ram usage (300mb).


    So has anybody ACTUALLY found a fix?

    Keep in mind ive actually deleted everything except windows and still no dice.


    NA game runs fine 60+fps 2k resolution preset 6 in HW (problems not my computer)

    Don't know where your game file is but there maybe an issue with accessing the Windows directory at the same time as running the game for the first time. I discovered this to be a big problem in the very early days of the game and actually got a thankyou from the Tera technical team when I gave my solution. If you have the Tera game in the X86 folder or on the Operating System C drive then remove using the uninstall from the drop down in the Gameforge client. Then delete or move the folder if you want a back up. Then most important reboot the computer and then uninstall Gameforge from your system. Next install Gameforge. Create a folder on another partition on your drive ie D drive and install the game there. Not the OS drive or in the Windows X86 folder.


    That worked for me in the end. But sadly I can't play the game as I haven't 16GB of RAM.

    The launcher is on the boot drive "c" the game was installed to a folder on the "d" drive.

    Im going to attempt to delete the launcher. Then CCleaner the registry bits. Reboot and reinstall launcher to C: again.

    Nope.

    Uninstalled launcher.

    Moved game folder from D: to G:

    CCleaner

    Reboot

    Install Launcher

    Add game through launcher

    Verify game

    Nothing


    This is pretty ridiculous at this point.

    SidebySide error in logs and when you run depends on gsltera.exe it throws errors with imports.

    Game starts just fine but when I choose character and click play there is an error at loading screen 'tera.exe stopped working'.Any idea how to fix this?

    I actually can log on all characters except my main character....It shows some brokered sales can that be the reason of 'tera.exe stopped working'?
