TERA Battle Arena - "TERA's PvP Revolution"

    I wanted to open this topic to talk about the new Battle Arena mode, which is seperate from the TERA MMORPG.
    As of right now we lack information but the community can still give feedback since the trailer is out.


    Here are my thoughts:


    1) I don't like the idea of picking heroes. Why can't we create our own characters instead?

    We could pick the race, class, gender and a character name just like we are used to. This would be much more unique compared to all these other games that have hero picks.


    2) Why is it not a own newly developed PvP game in Unreal Engine 5?

    A huge missed opportunity there. I don't understand this decision. Such a game would be a huge success.

    So what do you guys think about Battle Arena? What are your first impressions?

  • Iny eyes it is a dead pvp mode. Why should ppl let their normal characters die on vanilla servers just to play some heros on a completly different game mode? Everyone will test this new pvp area and then will come back to vanilla. Anyway it is a very stupid idea to split the current low playerbase on 2 different "games". I dont know which monkeys do such decisions, but they must be really stupid. I just can talk about myself, but if this pvp area will not be a pvp revolution and a 100% improve to shorehold, i will not play this.

    Shorehold is currently an active battleground what is even more pvp then fraywind ever was. Instead of balance the current pvp system they make a new one to split the community even more. Fools...

  • They dont have to much to split. Like last PVP arena in core, players will come, play several days for getting rolls and never come here again. Maybe some players will stay but i think it will be less than 10% of players who will try this mode.


    Devas removed open world PVP - stupid decision.

    Devas removes PK - very stupid decision.

    Devas created core PVP - another stupid decision.

    PVP revolution - ??? 90% will be another stupid decision only for angry players. ;)


    Conclusion? Devas dont care about what we want, they care only about money.

    But they should understand that when players are happy because of new changes they will probably get more money because players will stay with this game longer and will more think about investing in it.

    Kids know thats, devas not.

  • just draw a box around Velika outskirts arena, tick "allow pk skill use inside zone" and boom, half the pvp players will fall silent satisfied

    no need to make a full game thats gonna die in 4 months cause its not what the players want

    this thing is a slap in the face for anyone who has enjoyed pvp and stuck to tera since all relevant pvp content was deleted with removal of crusades years ago.


    the main thing to take away from this is:

    "we gave you pvp, go to this new game" and "nobody likes this new game pvp so no new pvp content to the mmo"


    i give this game less than 1month of relevancy and less than 1 year of servers being up...

  • I was getting so excited when they were teasing about some "alternate universe" and a "new planet". Then I realised this battle arena MOBA crap is likely what they have been teasing about and I'm extremely dissapointed. And here I was thinking we'd get an actual revolution for patch 100 or something.


    It could have been half decent if they implemented it as an ingame battleground and not a seperate game that won't even give you rewards for the actual game.

  • Could be so easy to make Tera a great game, even with all this current p2w shit. Just ask the community and do what they want. = more players = more money but nooooo they give us such shit.

  • Unreal Engine 5 is not yet released and tera 64 bit with DX11 should be updated 5~7 years ago with at least 1080p texture.

    Still these publisher and developer doesnt know how many old players are checking forum daily for "real update" which makes you return and play.

    Seriously,both companies are not capable to make this game better.I cant say "this patch is great" since 2015.Each patch is killing game you cant really say "x patch made better things for us".Do you ?

    I miss crowded game,bg pops up less than 1 minute (fwc),balanced classes,farmable enchanting materials,enchantment correction,gvg's,mchm and everything else.Now the game is full hurr durr with unbalanced characters,and full pve with p2w for sure.There was no p2w materials on the shop,people were buying cosmetics only and not in rng boxes,you could buy whatever you want directly.

    The game situations is absolute trash now.Both companies did it,its not our fault,its not players fault.For Elyon,i can say it will be trash too.They just coppied TERA 2 with same bosses and similar to bdo graphics (attacking,animations etc).

    Tera doesnt deserve this.

    Also its easy to increase playerbase rapidly.Just give us what you taken from us.

  • Its mostlly Community Menagers fault i think (no offense but its look like this).

    They dont respect players opinions and sugestions and dont try enough to give our opinions to devas.

    They are coming here only with new info about update or only when bugs happen and maintances.

  • The problem of TERA is that developers tried to use two parallels with their own concept in one game (PvP and PvE). If they combined them into one concept, it would work. But what we see is: PvE has its own line, wich does not make sense if you get your top equipment and PvP line is just broken as we all know.


    The battleground as standalone game will probably popular first time (if there are no stupid PvE-rules like 'you will get more scores for killing mobs instead of killing players'), the question is: for how long? This type of game isn't unique.

    we already have this mechanic on SH. You can win the game only by caping pyrs.

    If i would develop this game i would give the players actual PvP battlegrounds.

    And that is good like it is. PvP doesnt mean that the one with the biggest penis have to win. Part of a PVP game ever was and will be the intelligence of the players. Pvp = player (brain) vs player (brain)

    I can accept that pve bosses in bg's.I dont really care tbh,in fwc there was 2 type of boss.It was not an issue.I just cant accept "looser buff" or unbalanced classes.Believe me guys,2013-2015 era was perfect for everyone.Pvp'ers were doing pvp whole day,like there is no tomorrow.No one was yelling at global "que cs,que shore" blabla.In the middle of the day around 12:00 bg's were popping up in less than 1-2 minute.There was 2 type of battleground,fwc and 3v3.U could gain pvp items with doing pvp content.Not retarded pve dungeons.Also pvp gear was much better than pve gear for pvp.CUrrently pve items are much better than PVP items for PVP LOL WHADAFAQ?

    THere was no brawler,ninja and other hurr durr classes.These new classes are moslty unbalanced.Every town was overcrowded (you could say "oh its a new game,thats why the game was overcrowded".I dont agree with it,if they keep continue to do what they did in 2013-2015,i could say the population of players could be 100x better than current population.

    Everything went wrong after RNG fest.I remember i wasted around 30.000 mwa to make my 1 gear +15 and i failed again and again.Another guy wasted 2k mwa and made it.It's not like "more effort more gain".It's like "more effort get nothing,keep gambling,keep paying" style.

    I was small guild leader, not hunders of people were playing with me.But you know what,i got 60 players in my guild and in prime time 55-59 of them were online.3 months ago,i joined 1 guild.It was overcrowded guild,and i saw 5 players online max LOL.THe other ones were doing daily things for 30 min and left.And many of others were online 1 year ago,3 months ago,3 years ago etc.My friend list is super funny,5-6 people are still playing.Rest of them are "last online 3-4 years ago".

    And please,the people who falls in love in PVE,and not supporting pvp players in any type of situation.Check twitch,mixer,facebook gaming platforms.See how many people are watching pvp gameplay,and compare with pve streamers.And see how crowded servers they have when their pvp contents are active.

    Pvp must be end game content.Pvp people are keeping market alive,buying your stuffs,paying money for making cash.Its a circle.

    Pvp player buying thalers,selling it to people who are earning money/gold/silve from dungeons.And pve players selling their materials to them.It's a win-win situation.But currently everything is "cant tradeable" also RNG.

    How developers /publisher thinking that they can increase or protect their current player population seriously?

    Tera in 1 sencente : Loose-loose situation.

    And lastly;As you see in this picture,these people were focusing pvp mostly.They were doing pve also.Check their Last Online times.Thats how you loose your pvp population and also pve population...

  • lSorel I remember you back then in Alliance times. Your sorcerer character was called Sore. Arcadia Server.

    I was in Ishara PvP before coming to Arcadia. I came to a PvE server instead of Killian because the last 2 people from my guild transfered there a couple of weeks ago. But when i arrived they already stopped playing.

    I also have a friendlist like yours. Two people 7 years offline, many 6 years, 5 years etc.

    And for Fraywind, you are right BAM's were ok for extra points but the buffs are a no-go.


    Edit: Forgot to mention. BG's started popping up at 11:00 and lasted till late night times. Quick queues.

  • I transfer here from Ru. And we had the same situation with game. I also have friends who have been offline for 3-4 years.

    Every time I see updates about pvp, I know that it will only make it worse. Everyone remembers when they made pvp gear, the arenas did not pop for a very long time. I dont want to talk about the reason that they removed fwc, it was the best arena EVER!. And now they are shouting about the pvp revolution, what kind of revolution in dead pvp in a game they themselves killed?
