In the second instalment of the class introductions we will address the powerful close-range fighters who wield heavy, two-handed weapons. We will begin with the Berserker.
In combat, those opting for the role of the Berserker will be completely dependent on their heavy armour and formidable two-handed axe. The Berserkers and the Lancers are the only classes in TERA which are able to use the strongest-grade equipment. While this does slow them down somewhat, Berserkers can block many blows with their battle-axe and allay the force of incoming attacks with heavy armour.
Despite his massive appearance, the Berserker is in no way a gentle giant. Berserkers are known above all for their merciless and devastating sudden attacks, which carve a path of destruction through the battlefield.
Not only individual opponents fear the gleam of his axe; with his Cyclone skill, the Berserker goes into a frenzy, striking large numbers of enemies with his whirling axe. The longer the Berserker concentrates on this skill, the more potent the attack.
Berserkers are also known for their battle cries, which demoralise even the bravest of foes, petrifying them with fear. As if that were not enough, the Berserker can even paralyse opponents within a radius of four metres. He then launches into a jump attack which, when carried out by an experienced Berserker, causes fivefold damage to foes already in a state of shock.
The Berserker’s attacks require mana points, which can be gained in battle through the execution of combo-attacks. The more successful blows the Berserker can land, the more powerful he is on the battlefield.
Often a battle cry and a mighty axe are the last things heard and seen by those who face a Berserker in battle.
