Game crashes after splash screen

Okay, so quite a few of us are trying to get the PTS client to start up and it crashes at the TERA Splash Screen.
I think we've all taken the following steps to try and resolve the crash:
- Started the game multiple times
- Uninstall and ReInstall the PTS Client
- Steam Verification
- Clean up S1 ConfigsThis hasn't worked for a quite a few of us and the game is still crashing at Splash Screen.
-
are you using windows 7 or windows 10?
In our group, most people who use w7 struggle to get the client started while having almost the same specs as w10 users.
-
Yep, my game keeps crashing after the spash screen aswell, i have windows 10 btw.

Okay, for those of you that have already followed this and it still crashes, you need to check if you have previously used modded GPK files with either the standard 32bit Steam release or beta 32bit Steam releases and delete them.
For some reason, what Steam has done is patched the backup of your entire game and pushed that to you, instead of doing the sensible thing and just pushing a clean PTS client. -

thanks diesal3 for pointing that out.
All modifications to the client can lead to problems. Remove them and it should work. if not feel free to report it.
cheers

I completely uninstalled, then deleted TERA folder in steam folders, then i installed public_beta with 0 modifications made to it and it still closes during the splash screen.

Game crashes before splash screen, I have no mods, Win10/intel 7, and it messes up my steam window? Like the mouse doesnt hit the right place, but only in the steam window.
-edit
After restarting my pc it doesnt mess up my steam client anymore, but the game still wont start.

Hi, my Tera 64 bit crashes on splash screen on both computers.
I installed Tera from steam from the scratch (untouched) so no UI Mods, no file mod or similar.
Computer 1:
- CPU: intel i5 8600k
- RAM: 32 GB
- GPU: GTX 1080ti (driver vers. 451.67)
- OS: Windows 10 (vers. 2004) with last updates.
Computer 2:
- CPU: intel i5 9400F
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: GTX 1060 (driver vers. 451.67)
- OS: Windows 10 (vers. 2004) with last updates.
I noticed that... only if i keep insist A LOT i could join and play on public server after N tries,
in which N is always a random number. Sometimes 50+ tries, sometimes 2, it depends.
I also noticed when the game is loading and there is the splash screen,
my mouse cursor goes in the top left corner until the game crashes.
I also installed: Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Red. (x64) 14.26.28720
I allowed Tera on Windows Firewall and Antivirus as always do for other games.
I tried to Enabled or Disabled Windows 10 Game Mode, but it seem not related to this splash screen crash.
i also tried to change Sound Quality from Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Properties on Speakers > Advanced and change from 24 bit to 16bit but it didnt help, still crashing.
I also tried to do Validation thing from steam,
Tera{public_beta} > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files...
i did MULTIPLE times but it didnt help. Still crashing at Splash screen.
I also tried to uninstall Steam / Tera 64 bit, and reinstall all from the scratch,
and guess what? Still crashing at the same way...
I dont know what else i could do, if you have any suggestion/idea let me know

The only work around i have heard or saw so far is to keep trying to launch the game over and over again untill it finally lets u in for some it took 2 or more tries some took 20-100 tries some of my friends had their game open like that including me

I think that there are a lot of "dirty" installations where the game client hasn't removed old files, especially with Steam, and so it might not be feasible to ask players to remove "mods" or offending old files because it might not be possible to know which ones they are.
Would it be possible to create a tool that checks the list of files that are supposed to be there, go through the TERA installation and delete any files or folders not on that list? I think it would deal with both any modifications that anyone has put into the game during 32bit AND left over files where the game client hasn't deleted them.

Not gonna lie though, literally any sane person should just completly re-install Tera when the patch arrives.
