Why did you let Russians come to Mystel?

  • Look at these morons in this thread. :elin14:

Its pretty simple, if someone wants to be a part of our community then write in a language that everyone understands - if you don't want that then don't cry later when people exclude you. Has nothing to do with racism or anything, if you prefer to speak in a language that 90% of the server doesn't understand then glhf but don't expect anyone to accept/invite you. Its solely your decision whether you want to be a part of the community or not.

    Done.

  • One thing I don't like, is how they immediately got their own forum section..italians, romanians, spanish, turkish, swedish, polish, czech (and so on) people have been playing here on the EU servers for years..we never got a forum section meant specifically for us.

I play through steam, so I can't see the standard launcher...but I hope they didn't even give them the client translated in russian, since again, people in europe have been playing tera with the client in a foreign Language for nearly a decade (except obviously french, german and british people), despite the fact that many have been asking GF to add more languages for the client, other than just german, french and english.

Obviously because we already have a fully Russified game client? And actually, after such wishes, you tell me that this is not a question of racism?

  • Wishing the publishers wouldn't favor people from one nation over people from others means being racist for you ? again..I think you should stop misusing that word.

  • Welcome russian brothers. Dont listen to all the selfish fools. I am happy that game will be more populated. Dotn forget to q shorehold, corsair and skyring at 8pm CET.

    We are waiting for you.

  • by 'favor' you mean that we waited ru server for 3 years and 5 years later it was closed? maybe it was better to free transfer to any server with all our +15 kaya sets, gold and other riches? but the client is english...

    EU - NA - RU - EU

  • I happily welcome the RU players and glad to see the population grow however, I must say it's become really difficult to communicate especially in battlegrounds when I'm trying to lead and call out things and people are just talking and responding in Russian and I don't understand anything about what's going on. I would love to interact with them and talk but they basically rather communicate with each other which makes me feel excluded even though they are the new ones.

You better not understand what they say, nothing smart and useful, just one shame.

Most Russian players do not know how to speak English, do not perceive it as a gesture of unfriendly.

  • I think the people in this thread should really think about what they typing when they type the word: RACISM.

So far in-game we facing a real problem with communication/gamestyle between EU and Russian players...
The people who are to blame for this, aren't EU players for sure, i'm sorry to say this but it's the russian community the one that had to be merged bcs your server got closed by russian devs... It is actually shocking to notice how the russian community it's living in a sort of bubble because 80% of their players (?) don's speak english in 2k20.

Sorry to tell you all, but outside countries from the old USSR no one talks russian in Europe basically... While kinda everyone talks english... So it's not racism to tell to people to talk english, it's common sense.

Due to this communication problem, BGs like Corsair are completely messed up and most of the times is kinda impossible to bring any sort of strategy, because russians are more than eu players and they most likely don't understand english so they play absolutely randomly or they just communicate between each others...
Not to the mention the fact that during these 10 days post merge i played both CS and SH everyday and i clearly noticed a BIG difference in terms of gamestyle between eu players and russians... So far russians seems like they playing BGs like CS not to win but just to pvp without a purpose... If i have to make an example, they behave like piranhas... Literally chasing ppl around instead of playing for objectives and against the clock, which is the goal of CS.
During these 10 days i literally saw things that i never saw in 7 yrs of Tera EU and clearly i'm not the only one who noticed it.
Don't get me wrong, bad players are everywhere... Same thing might happen with EU players as well, but not so often and not like this, which proves the point i made up here about different gamestyles between the 2 communities.

Unfortunately, i don't really think the situation will change in the next future which means that BGs like Corsair will be fcked from now on and they will be meme BGs.
I'm happy BGs are popping much more... but from a competitive standpoint, russians aren't compatible with EU players and the result is BGs being ruined.

  • I personally don't care what people type in global (unless it is racist, that needs to stop. It isn't edgey just idiotic and sh*t posters who do it are going too far) or what language they use. I see it as 'Global' a catch all chat. Of course spam is an issue but that is differen't to just bringing up a topic in your own language. Global is and always has been a wild west. Different debates and convos are always crossing over each other. If one isn't dun running and needs to convo with more than one peep just temp partying up is an easy solution.

Honestly I regret I do not understand as many languages as others because it would be great to communicate with more people. Even in the past I've had dun runs where everyone else is speaking something I can't understand to know what they want me to do. Communication is an issue in these circumstances and I can understand BG players' concerns even though I don't particularly play BG often myself (not that everyone pays attention even if they can read English from what I have seen). However if we players as a whole community could come up with a universal short hand or symbols for getting main points across in these situations we all could have our cake and eat it.

Personally in BG if I miss a message or missread one when I see a point pinged on the map I know leader wants my ass over there asap (unless I been given a task like guarding a ladder). In regards to the differences in play style honestly this is going to be a hard addapt if it isn't simply being held back by lack of communication. I do think it is up to the Leader to decide the general battle plan. If they want you to use a strat you use it. Unless it is clear to everyone their plan is going to fail (then a new strat can be proposed) or an sudden opotunity appears to get a sneak win. Hopefully this is something that may just level itself out in time as more people become aware of the favoured strats.

Back to communication. New players from all places already have to learn the short hands we use for stuff. I've been on both ends wondering which dun someone is on about and the one answering. Is everyone saying we as a community can't muster up enough effort to impliment a simple universal symbol system?

Already I see commonly the use of o/ as a greeting adding to this should not be an issue. All everyone has to do is work together to make a simple chart for the symbols and spread it around so everyone can use it as a unified language. Some questions will be harder to ask and some infromation harder to explain but surely it is worth a try. (1) Could mean something like first time or maybe 1|- could be better.

Anyway sorry for the ramble. People are free to contact me if they are interesting in developing a TERA short hand. I'm sure other games have been through this and perhaps have something easy at hand we could even just duplicate with minor changes or outright copy.

    Goodday :elin15:

  • Funny how fast some1 will use "Racist".

Sorry but it isnt Racist when you get distrubed in you own normal environment all of the sudden.

Its only natural to have something against it.

Go do something "good" on Instagram or Twitter.

  • Let's go over to the russian server and all type in english, see what happens.

Welcome. You will be surprised that your messages in English will be indifferent to everyone. We are not xenophobes. On RU servers (not tera) many players from China. They use hieroglyphs in chat. It doesn't excite anyone the way Cyrillic excites you.
