i was wondering if tera has announced any plans for the future of the game and what updates and futures they are planing to do ? i wonder this now mostly because of the big anniversary of the game. After all in Korea next January the game will be 10 years old which considering most mmos dont even last half that its huge. I dont think will get a new area as we got Exodor very recently but maybe a new race or class ? I hope some one has information if they are planing something big.

The game has other epic problems.New zones or new classes cant solve anything.It makes you happy little bit.
The best mmos have pvp population.Western people are watching competetive twitch streams.i mean mostly pvp.Tera has unique pvp combat system tbh.Cant compare with another games.But sadly developer and publishers are ruining it and still.
You can not see pve gear better than pvp gear for pvp in another games.But in tera pve items are better for pvp and much better than pvp gear lol.
Classes are broken,pvp side of the game is dead,only cs is alive and cs is joke.Just tactical battleground with sieges,airships,ladders etc.
Shorehold is a joke.You have to get +9 pvp weapon and chest.After wasting 2000 plates u can still see +6 pvp gear because of endless failure of upgrading.
U have to farm or pay for PVE gear at least for +12.People are using pve gloves and boots for pvp.Another joke...
Advance skills,EP,new type of jeweleries and upgrading them,consumables blabla and "healing pot in pvp just lol".
If u checking tera twitch streams,it cant reach more than +100 overall.And all streams are pve based.
Pve can bu fun time to time.But pvp is a "must" for all mmos.Thats why fps games has more population last years.People are sick of tired endless grind for another endless grinding content also p2w strategies in mmorpgs.
Fps games currently offering you "pvp,skill" and p2p or some skins which are nit effecting another players gameplay.
But in tera,if u have credit card u can reach anything u want.
As i said,the game was perfect before.There was little p2w items on cash shop.Gold income was better.Upgrading "correction" was perfect.Farming mwa was better.Pvp were active AF.There was no fairy tale kumasylm,tank war,wintera etc which are not a "bg".
Tera is trying to milk their latest population.Cash addicted companies never face with success.I was playing last couple weeks.Endless circle of the game pushes me away and most of the players.

Whales are all you need to keep the game up.
Just think about it..if we count 500 whales on mystel, 300 on yurian, 300 on seren, each spending 500 euro/ month on the game, that's a monthly income of 150.000 euro..just from whales (and there are more whales than that)..no reason to spit on that..closing the servers would be a waste of money.. especially since they spend 10 euro a month on servers , considering how badly they perform, so they get to keep 149990 euro for themselves every month, so they can pay their holidays in the carribeans.

They made it more accessible and reduced the grind for newcomers currently, but I feel they will just make an U-turn again and make it p2w and rng fest again later when more fresh blood joins. When they revamped the gear system to stormcry it was going the right direction, but screwed it up again with ho+3, p2w pet and current mythic+15 bullshit.

the fact you can stream fraywind on twitch and people flock to your stream shows this game has a lot off people who want to play the old tera, the tera we cannot play,

the time equilised battlegrounds actually almost were equal with only glyph being the unbalanced thing between veterans and rookies
screen shot example off two ninjas in fully equilised gear both level 70 in corsairs battleground in 2020, one with p2w ep, cards, and consumables which before 2019 was not a problem

True that, but I considered at least the majority of the whales already being badly annoyed by this game, especially since it has been going down in quality since I-completely-lost-track-when. The addiction is just plain too strong.
But well, since you're better off paying and progressing (one way or another) and the upcoming content is a hopeless case, this game is beyond saving anyway.

Sadly TERA has not a big future if things don't change drastically. And spoiler alert, things will not change drastically.
There are a lot of people that are interested into TERA's PvP but there are also far to many problems with this game. My PvP Youtube channel has only 13 videos but has 1200 subs and the view count is crazy high for a TERA Corsairs' only channel. This alone proves that TERA has huge potential. I planned for Skyring, Fraywind, in-depth guides/analysis etc. but due to the overall PvP situation i stopped making videos. My goal was 13 videos anyways (each class 1 video), and i reached that personal goal. Once TERA is no more i can look back at my 13 characters from time to time.

But like i said... there are problems.
1.) TERA is a MMORPG.
You need to max level a character before you can enter PvP battlegrounds.
People that are not interested into MMORPG's wont play TERA no matter how good the combat system or the PvP modes are.
These people want to download the game and start PvP-ing without leveling a character through some MMORPG PvE content. MMORPG's will never ever have huge player numbers like other multiplayer games where you don't need to level up a character first before you can finally play vs. other players.
2.) The game is not optimized very well.
3.) PvP accessibility is in a horrible state, it can't get much worse.
In a perfect world the koreans would just sell the TERA IP to a smart & big game developer (Epic Games, Blizzard etc.). From there TERA would continue existing as a clean PvE game by deleting all PvP battlegrounds.
TERA 2, a PvP only game would be developed in Unreal Engine 5. You can pick a race, class, appearance and the name for your character and you are set for instant PvP action. The combat system would ofc stay the same or if possible be polished some more. Game modes would be Battle Royale, 1vs1, 3vs3, 5vs5, FC, CS for example.
It would be a F2P game without P2W elements and with a battle pass & purchasable skin system. Trade Broker system as we know it should be a thing too so that you can buy items with ingame gold/credits if you don't want to use your own cash. There would be of course much more things to do in TERA 2, it would not be a empty game. Gearing and Glyphs for example would make your characters versatile and only minimalistically stronger. Just so that new players don't have a huge disadvantage when they start.
Imagine having TERA 2 (or whatever the name would be) as an optimized UE 5 game + PvP only game + combat system that is already superior + high play numbers.

Tbh a bit of the charm of a MMORPG vs that of a MOBA is open world content, what about outlaw? alliance? civil unrest? GvGs...with castles? PvP shouldn't be restricted to instanced content, though I agree battlegrounds would definitely benefit from more activity.

and back in time Tera was a main pvp game so why they do ruining it ?
Tera was a 29GB game while having Alliance skycastle FW 3V3 permade and EQ gear and cs with permade and 5players queue + so many Dungeons but now what ? 60 GB with 4 Reskined Dungeons yay fun ...... Fùcksimple wishes are the players asking for ..
- Bring back PK and GVG and all the shit you did fcking removed like skycastle and MI Buff from 3v3 Also Fix the queue Pop because we spend like 40 min in queue to recive a bugged raid without the Teleport Button ..FFS thank you
or learn from BDO and make a simple channel for pvpers since PVE gods will start crying ahh plz no pvp we will die if they wll kill my character in game .___.
i won't say Alliance because i know BHS brains Limits they cant even fix the EP/EXP poped message in the Mid of the screen so w/e

That..the problem with PK was that it had no boundaries...a lvl 65 killing a lvl 10 in pk is not a fun way to play..it's just a lvl 65 retarded kid enjoying bullying low lvl characters..a lvl 10 has literally no way to fight a lvl 65, so you're basically forcing people to either die and stay on the ground/go back to town, wasting time, or change channels, which is basically game obstruction..

Level 10 have never been a target of PK as they were invincible until lvl 11, then the areas and the channels were more than enough to escape any sort of players like this (which weren't that many at time).
Killing the weakers may not be fun to you or to others, but it's part of a Mmorpg like Tera and it's in nothing game obstruction. On the opposite, it can actually be fun to see some people making group or calling guilds to kill the "renegades" who dare to kill low level players and rerolls.
In addition, this problem wouldn't exist anymore in the current Tera since 1) people are all in dungeons in dungeons and 2) you reach the lvl 65-68 within several hours (about 6-7 without rushing and with some afk).
Nevertheless, it had a bit sense when PvP was focusing on player's skill rather than ilvl like it is nowaday. -
Nah full pvp game means "private server" for me.Mmorpg players needs pve players to make an economy alao pvpers for more action and much better economy.Without pve there will be no trades,no interest etc.I cant say "we dont need pvers" at all.We need them as they need us.
Sometimes people are getting bored in pvp.Its an option to do some dungeon runs or boss fights etc.
The game was like this in 2013-2015 era.The problem started with awakening upgrade system.
My whole guild was pvers,after some pvp event,they addicted to pvp.When we were in good mood we were doing pvp.When we are tired,we were doing dungeons.
But:There was no p2w shop,there was no OP and broken classes,there was no endless grindfest,people can reach their targets just in 20-30 days.There was no EP,Advance Skills,Jewelery upgrade,brooch upgrade blablabla.These are broken also.
Its like an endless circle.
Doing same dungeons with same group until your eyes bleed doesnt make sense.Then what ? New patch comes out and another grindfest starting.Basically its time wasting for nothing.
Most of items "can not trade".
Casual players is not equal to no lifer grinders and the problem is not they hve more time.The problem is there is nearly nothing to do after reaching max tier,level.And in many games "casual players" making the game better.Not the no lifer ones and p2w ones.

So how people can stay in this game ?
Without good pvp design (we have only 1 which is fps type of skill usage) the game will not survive.Currently tera is dead.No matter what,dungeons can be crowded,people can farm x material blabla.At the end it doesnt make sense.Twitch is best option to see it.There no 100 viewers overall.
With good pvp owpvp i bet there could be more than thousands people for watching.
Western people are mostly looking for pvp.Its real competition.5 man dungeon clear is not,same guys doing same dungeon everyday.Can you watch same episode of tv show everyday ? no.But pvp offers more fun.Deal with it or not.

the thing with pvp in BDO is that it's not consensual.
outside of safezones, anyone can engage you with the only protection being " sub 50" which doesnt matter in the zones ppl care about. however if you chose to kill lower level players, you will tank your Karma which has a bunch of downsides there(town guards turning on you, NPCs refusing to do business with you, certain items stop working completely and best of all, dieing with negative karma can damage your gear+ everyone is in pvp mode on sight by default but you cant force on them).
