Someone must teach the guys from GF that a server is not like an internet box, it doesn't get better when you restart it, sometime, eventually.

The sad thing is that these months have been a gold mine for game companies like Gameforge has tons of people worldwide are stuck in their homes - THIS was the perfect opportunity to expand your customer base by providing 1)Actual working servers 2)Nice events to turn all these new temporary players into more stable ones.
But nah, when this quarantine situation will be over most of the new influx of new
playerscustomers will be gone and you just lost yet again another great business opportunity, I am not even an economist or a manager yet I can figure this much go figure the big brains at GF. -
I feel like the issue is more complex then this. Probably the server provider is being congested and from user end point to the server can't handle the load from everyone being home right now. The last maintenance fixed the lag for me but there's many players still lagging and my friends I do runs everyday with can't play anymore from the huge ping spikes.
edit. lagging now as well. Unplayable eventhough I have 18ms ping but my skills don't work for 2-3 seconds or I teleport out of bounds without pr0xy.

regardless this problem has been occuring for the whole past 2 weeks.
starting as just some Ui lags and ending on what's happening now.
while i cna get that due the current situation traffic might be a bit moe overwhelming, this is something i feel GF should have foreseen and made sure their infrastructure matched.(and it doesnt, since from what i understand the actual server hardware is quite laughable)

Sure, roll back and f**k all, ppl open boxes, get useful items, ppl enchant gear to +15 and get valuable items in dungeons, how you can say "roll back" and everything will be ok? You know what i will do if they roll back? i will delete permanently tera, and i am sure many players will do same thing.

Any update towards the lag? Lagging like crazy again today. We have a nice double vanguard reward event right now but pretty useless if we can't run any dungeon. I'm paying for my TC with money to support you guys so you can fix this lag. Maybe move the server to better locations or provider?

I don't think it's a bug or system problem that causes the lag.
After the first issue with ping a few days ago, things are now fine on that regard (been back to the regular 30-50 ping for the past couple days), but the servers still keep lagging.
The fact that yesterday many people had to wait in queue to enter the servers is probably an indicator of the fact that the problem we're facing is that due to quarantine many new players entered the game, and many old players came back; that caused the servers to get overcrowded (I'm guessing since the playerbase has been decreasing dramatically in the last few years, they downgraded the servers, since they didn't need servers with high capacity, which cost more) , which then causes the general lags, so the situation will remain like this unless they upgrade to servers with higher capacity or the quarantine ends so players drop due to people going back to work/school.
Of course I'm no expert on how servers work, so these are just my thoughts on this matter; take them as such.

There were already three different maintenances in an attempt to fix the lag and another one is planned to come up soon because it was the weekend.
I am seriously disappointed from all of you. Maybe the HO era gave you too much of a break after years of dealing with TERA's abhorrent RNG. I almost thought our community achieved what it was meant to - being able to tame the Dice Gods. But seeing this I can't but suspect that all the training was wasted.
Crying because clearing dungeons needs a bit of luck now. Shame on you.

if this is the case or not its irrelevant, if this was the case they should have had the foresight to see this coming since was certainly not a suprise.

But we have several reasons to think that it's not the case, like:
- Nothing change through the time, despite the peak and off-peak hours.
- It got worse way after the beginning of quarantine.
- The issue is recurrent on EU servers and was especially recurrent for smallers ones, and it's been 6-7years AT LEAST, that we complain about it, but like usual, it rather goes worse.
- GF blocked trace route tests for some obscures reasons ("players are evils"? lololo) which make us unable to identify precisely where it goes wrong. I don't know if it's still the case though.
Knowing GF, they are the kind of people being able to tell "oh yes, it was this!" when you list a possible cause of the problem you encounter in order to escape any responsibility. Thus, my advice for Kaikanken is not to give them any other excuse and let them try to find a ridiculous one themselves. They are quite good at this game and could at least give the playerbase a laugh in the middle of all this shit.

Only getting this lag from doing dungeons. Been only farming AQ right now. Openworld seems fine.
