Berserker Balance Update

  • With the upcoming Patch Zerk is gonna receive a new passive that states " Excessive Bleeding - Increase skill damage of certain skills based on maximum HP" - this may seem at first like an interesting idea but in the current state of the game it doesnt really work.

    Main problems with this change:

1.) Zerk is the only DPS class thats DMG scales with HP (or rather an defensive stat in general) while every other DPS Class scales with Physical/Magic Amp or Crit Power (Sorc scales with MP which is completly fine though because there is almost no source for it)

2.) HP has a lot of sources so you are FORCED to change your whole gear + items + consumables - just to name a few examples:

    - Chest/Boots Etchings need to be changed to HP Etchings instead of Endurance

    - Jewelry Etchings have a cheap and expensive option which gives you +500 HP per piece for literally DOUBLE the cost

    - Buff-Food like Lammbulgogi gives +5% Max HP so you aren't able to use the cheaper ones that give same power/crit value but without the +5% HP Buff

    - Golden Halidom gives 14k HP instead of only 7k HP like the Blue Halidom

3.) The DPS difference between Main Zerks and Twink Zerks is gonna increase a lot because they need to get good gear and also spend more money on HP Etchings like mentioned above - which will overall result in less people wanting to play the class a secondary character because it's too expensive and unrewarding to play.

===== Zerk is the only class that is literally forced to change all the mentioned above stuff and has to spend a lot more gold compared to all the other classes to reach their maximum potential of DPS - which at least from my point of view seems kinda unfair for Zerks or rather flawed from a design perspective.

The Idea of having a class that scales off of Max HP is fine but Bluehole really should consider adding something like an max cap of HP (Like the passive only scales up to a Maximum of 300.000 HP and getting HP beyond that cap won't increase the damage gain) or just completly revamp the whole idea of having Zerk scale with Max HP because sadly it just does not work as you would expect it to do.

(I'd appreciate it if only Zerks comment on this topic because this topic is only about them and not about the other classes)

    Done.

  • I definitely agree with you on the mentioned stuff.
I would like to add one thing concerning percentage based HP drains.
So after the balance changes Berserkers would have to increase their maximum amount of HP to increase their damage output. Since all skills which drain HP for casting/overcharging got changed to drain a %-based amount of HP instead of a flat one it means that the higher your maximum HP is, the higher your HP drain will be.

On top of that many dungeons have got mechanics which drain %-based HP from players which means that Berserkers would always lose more HP then other classes.
So now to the actual problem:

Most of the "Heal"-skills however only regenerate you by a flat amount of HP which means that Berserkers would need more healing then other classes which can be really annoying for many Mystics/Priests (especially low geared ones) and could end in Zerks being (attention: small overreaction) rejected in parties.

  • In the upcoming patch Berserker is supposed to be a DPS class who can take a lot of hits from bosses due to his high amount of hp. But the boss mechanics who don´t do a fixed HP amount of damage hurt Berserkers a Lot more because we must reroll almost every endurance stat to HP. This will be a big problem especially for lower geared Berserkers who don’t have access to a lot of hp and/or endurance.

But there are a lot more problems with this class, for example Berserkers have a block but cannot Perfect-block which leads to unplayable mechanics. Also, what is about the Tank-stance its not mentioned in the new patch. Is it going to be ignored like the last 2 years?? (Why do you remake a class but ignore half of it?).

  • Reasons why hp scaling is a bad thing.
    1-Berserker is a dps class.
    2-Berserker is not a tank.
3-Hp dosnt work as resource of defense in tera.
4-Hp will cause issues scaling whit damage both in pve and pvp.
5-Im 100% sure you will have to rework that passive in further patches.
6-Healers will have to overwork for no reason whatsoever.
7-Every mechanic if not 90% of them are based on your total hp.
8-All debuffs in endgame dungeons are % hp based.
9-Berserker is already heavy gear dependant.
    10-Berserker have low base hp.
11-Hp is not a damage stat.
12-Hp scaling will make unleash even worst to heal.
13-Hp scaling will make us take more damage from everything.
14-Low geared players already have issues whit hp, dont add more.
15-Low geared players already have issues whit mp, dont add more.
16-This will make it even more unplayable that already is at low gear.
17-Less players will like the class.

Mi feedback about this and how to fix this class below.
1- Add permanent damage reduction during unleash (like valkirie) 50/70% , dont double our total hp during unleash, it does nothing,so that way we can actualy use the skill.
2-Change hp scaling passive to % of total hp, not max hp, so that way we could get rewarded for playing good instead. Example: 50% hp 5% damage,75 % hp 10 % damage 100% hp 15% damage, and let it scale out of a dps stat crit rate, crit power, etc.
3-Rework lethal strike and vampiric blow to do more damage based on hp % cause slaying is removed. Example: 50% hp 100% damage ,75% hp 150%, 100% hp 200% damage.
4-Increase unleash damage and reduce duration so the skill is more usable in pvp and pve.
6-Rework EP skills only 4 of them are usfull, so like 400 points are used on nothing but uselles shit.
7-Add infuriate and perfect block to defense stance, increase debuff duration, before 2025 thanks.
8-Please play responsibly, We all love this game, Dont let it fall.
