This would only solve the problem with the game running out of memory and crashing. If the game code is still trash and go above more than 32bit client limit of 4gb, it would only slow the game further down. I rather want them to optimize, multi-thread the game code and update it to unreal engine 4 because that's the only way to improve performance.
They also wished for a "better" game.. ![]()
i wish you a merry xmas
i'm sure they want that because archeage unchained and blade&soul is making engine optimizations
ofcourse in theory it should be only better for everyone if tera runs 64bit but knowing bluehole they will fk it up and release it broken
pvp content when?
Today's Tera be like:
senita456 same there, some days it crashes 6 times a day because of this error.
At this point, that's usual for me on the daily basis. I think Koreans have the same issue and that's why BH wants to try switch to 64 bits... lets see what comes. But I don't think that the problem would overcome by only fixing that though. The problem is the optimization itself. I cannot imagine how bad and messy the code is written.

Turn down your settings, especially textures and remove any s1 edits.

well BnS has 64-bit version and it runs like crap compared to 32-bit one.
Not every 64-bit is better, and since we're talking about tera developers, I'm afraid that it won't be any better
Well it's official now ~
And why is there a thread about it?
32-bit will not be supported anymore.
Nothing else will change.
The game won't run more fluid all of a sudden... i will not fix your FPS... and it will not fix pvp GAMEFORGE
Atleast it won't throw error when it eat entire ram
you wish.
as a very wise person once told me:
Quotethere's a couple of different outcomes that can happen from moving to 64 bit
1. Nothing, except Tera uses x2 memory, since the pointers will be 64 bit instead of 32 bit
2. They make performance worse since they are messing with legacy code (very likely)
3. They make performance better since they are messing with legacy code (unlikely)
4. They realize that datacenter's current format was made due to memory limitations development of Tera and is no longer a good structure and change it for performance increase. (Best bang for your buck in terms of performance, also highly highly unlikely)

yes very smart Broxy devs...
anyway what he says does make sense, i have no faith that bluehole would fix code to run smoother on 64bit
but what i'm hoping is fixes on texture load freeze due to maxed 3.2gig ram and blurry textures pretty much everywhere
tera costumes are 512x512 and they get blurred x3 lower just come on
this by no means implies that the game is actually gonna run any smoother as someone already pointed out
if anything it might make performance worse while also making TERA a memory hog in the process unless they update some core structures of the game that existed because of the memory limitations(the datacenter format)
