With no doubt, the present patch is bad.
And as others have pointed out by now already - whatever one is doing, whatever kind of “supportive” event is thrown out it’s simply not enough. Gameforge, once again you maneuvered this game into a street with a dead-end. The current concept involving greater grinding, dungeon runs, collecting cards isn't working out; it feels unrewarding as hell, is frustratingly time consuming as well as ridiculous (20+points up in ilv. by full +15? rip Endurance stat....).
I understand that it could be fully on purpose, frankly even in your interest to have it exactly this way, pushing/provocing folks like that to get lose with their credit card, idk. Though, in case that’s only half the truth, I will be here waisting my time writing this:
This patch needs an additional ingame platform to provide players with the new content mats, namely the enchanting/repair materials, the cards, if not the gear itself for reaching good stats. It's needed in a more profitable way; something better than dull, mindless grinding, making new personal records on dungeon time(s) and free from dice roll gambling. Guess what, this platform exists: USE the Battlegrounds.
Wait!.., before you jump on me - hear me out.
Ofc, it would require a system-overwork, though honestly nothing that didn't exist in one way or another before.
First of all, to have Bgs as mats support institution was for a junk of time a standard in Tera, not long ago ppl (me too) were building their gear over bgs, from Frost to Storm to Heroic. It only stopped recently with the “brilliant” plan to use it exclusively to support the pvp gear. Yet, since pvp players are a so-called minority, by now every1 should have got this gear up including 3alts : P
So, give the BGs back to the public:
1.) Establish the duo model of Belliquarium and Killing Spree points once more - yes, with that I mean implement Fraywind Canyon back, though in an equalised stage like CS, for that it needs nothing in preparation to run any of those (pls refrain from mentioning Gridiron, thx).
2.) Set up CS with reward boxes (like 8 by lose/15 on a win) to provide mats for the new blue grade gear and white tier cards, while FW works as counterpart for the new gold grade gear and the green tier cards.
3.) Adapt the Bellicarium/Killing Spree merchants to buy off some mats directly if not the gear itself to reach good stats - mats, I would vote for the repairing ones plus all the stuff to upgrade to the highest accessory set.
4.) Extras: CS/FW Daily, upgraded BG Vanguard Quest Rewards, Jackpots during(!) the runs
Atm, the Battelgrounds lie waste, close to the point where you could actually implement them out. In my opinion, a shamefull state for a game that still gets primary advertised over the statement "true-action-combat". If you guys rlly mean it, than damn throw ur players into this t-r-u-e -a-c-t-i-o-n. Certainly, they will not find it in a plain dungeon or by pressing the highest dmg combos at grinding.
At last, for sayings like "ppl have no intrests in bgs anymore" I will have deaf ears - cuz what you see in ur (idk) present statistics(?) of player behavior, is a result of ingame enviroment changes caused by patches in which repeatedly dungeons&co(pve) got favored plus better rewarded in contrast to their bgs&co(pvp) counterpart. So, as a matter of fact and by common sense you see the people go for what benefits them most, it does say nothing about their actuall preferences. It would say smthg in case both sides were EQUALLY good rewarded and yet still you see the majority running dungeons. Talk to me in case that scenario ever comes to life~
