TERA's difficulty level.

  • Up to patch 79, dungeons were fun challenging, and required you to have a minimum of knowledge to enter the dungeons, and, even when overgeared, players still had to watch out for mechanisms, giving the dungeons a feeling of challenge and difficulty making them fun to tackle on even when the gear level is way high that the dungeon's.

    Then, patch 80 came out, and decided to add the completely unneeded update to make every single boss deal close to no damages and to even do the job for the players by warning about everything, making most dungeons plainly boring and tasteless, that no one would ever farm if they didn't have to.


    What exactly is the point of having over 20 level 65 dungeons if about 18 of them is necessary, tasteless and not fun ? And when a dungeon is even a tinny bit of a challenge as a result of these updates, it is an hell to get any party for it because people are getting spoiled by how dumbed down and easy these dungeons are. I shouldn't be able to take an ilevel 439 character in dungeons of ilevel 453 and higher and still survive, yet, I did.

    Maybe some people enjoy how easy TERA is as of now, but, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of players that don't enjoy it and are not having fun doing dungeons right now, which is pretty problematic when dungeons are most of the pve endgame.

    As of now, even AQ and Bahaar are too forgiving, allowing you to take damages left and right without even dying, and, honestly, patch 80 completely killed the entire concept of Slaying runs before the removal of crystals with how easy it was because simply face tanking everything without thinking was more efficient than having upgraded damages but having to dodge ...

    So well, basically, some players wish to have fun when playing TERA by being challenged once again by some brutal bosses and mechanisms, and, right now, we have absolutely nothing and are pushed aside. What is the point of making the game easier to access to new players if to reach the point that you have to sacrifice away the old players and make it so there is no one to accompany the new players out on their journey ?

  • This is so important and I am still triggered when I think about how this killed the game for me. TERA was actually fun before that patch!

    First of all every dungeon is forgiving if you enter in it and you're over geared and second of all why complain when you sit in Highwatch all day, not even playing and you're not skilled on Bahaar or AQ. What is the point of complaining in the first place if you don't do the dungeons?

    I just got some pieces of blue gear, to be precise gloves and boots. They were are broker for 10k gold which is nothing these day. So I put them on and went to play some dungeons. Turns out now I'm now immortal. Mechs that one shot me before now barely scratch me - they do about same as normal attacks did before.


    I did 2 runs of new shiny hard dungeon AQ, one with my old HO+0 gear and one with these two pieces. First run, let's say I died a lot, we took a long time, but thanks to heroic healer we didn't actually wipe, was fun trying to anticipate boss moves and predict them really like my life is on line (because it is).


    Second run ... well I died like one or two times. Why ? I literally fell asleep in middle of my rotation, because I couldn't bring myself to care to block. So this new shiny hard dungeon is about as hard that you could clear it with party of toddlers and, decent healer and 100k gold (one time).

    This is unacceptable. I literally don't want to progress in gear, because it makes game too boring. What am I supposed to do ? Make a macro that does 1 > 2 > 3 > repeat, because it can play as well as me ? No need to block, no need to do mechs, just facetank everything.


    Please buff literally every dungeon, make them lethal and not a playground for toddlers.

    At first, the game HARDLY lacks of endgame content ;


    ADDING on top of that that 99.9% of the EU community are spoiled goats and dirty sheeps following guides coming right from Korea, can't figure shit on their own at any point, even when I'm trying to go blind in any new dung, you get spoiled mechanics or stuff or X or Y, that's unevitable.


    ADDING on top of that the nicest thing created ever, the proxy, the macros and all the shit you want making it just casual


    ADDING on top of that the dumbest shit ever, the EU consumables


    so yeah in the end, you have an endgame content not asking players to be somewhat SKILLED at the class they play, just to install the proxy and throw some money at Gameforge's face to get muuuuh seal

  • When we got the new item lvl restriction distribution it came with lots of nerfs to almost every dungeon so i agree that's stupid you can go with 439 to rke for example and survive hits but both Bahaar and GLSH weren't changed. AQ with minimum required item level hurts a lot considering you are using the ho, not the new gear. Most classes die in one or two hits or one hit plus a tick of poison.


    While some dungeons became too easy to do the nerfs, it did bring some dungeons backs like AAH and RMH which were 100% doable before but not so easy with random parties or not skilled/experienced players.
