One of the main things that has always set GameForge apart from it's NA counterpart EME and, by extension, Bluehole (KR Developer) in recent years was, in my opinion, Gameforge's insistence to kinda pull and follow their own game plan. They understood that the view Bluehole had of how the game should be ran by in the west was suboptimal to say the least, so even if they'd receive the same patches as other regions Gameforge created their own custom events. This was a luxury that EME did not have, being a direct subsidiary of Bluehole and thus completely shackled by their will.
Gameforge brushed up against Bluehole's will and took a bit more liberty with the game, bringing a variety of custom features and events in a bid to try and keep the game somewhat enjoyable to play still - even in it's present state. Remember the event server that gave players a free Frostmetal Set? The Batu Desert? And of course, last year's summer event? Swimsuits, mounts, shape changers, masks, FM gear - all stuff that would make it worthwhile doing the event.

It is a public secret that Bluehole has reprimanded Gameforge for this before. And lo and behold, one year later we get the exact same summer event as NA. The same summer "event" that was already widely criticized there. A dyeable duckie, the same hats, and some food. No more swimsuits, mounts, shape changers, masks or gear.
I am incredibly disappointed that Gameforge apparently has forfeited its bravery and now has decided to do walk in line and do as Bluehole says. You had something that enticed people play on EU over NA in recent years, and you just forfeited it.
A lot has been said about the merge, the patch, the recent events, you name it. These all don't help, but it is the moment that you stop sticking up for yourself and give in to Bluehole's wishes that the last thread keeping Tera together is truly cut.
