Hi all
Just want to voice my opinion about this event
While I do like the idea of this event, it's just not fun. The idea of not being able to resurrect is a good challenge and a test of skill but after spending hours on the same boss only to disband or having to leave is incredibly off putting. I've yet to clear a single run of Forsaken Island Extreme and it's because of the same thing - one player dies, we have to restart. And it's not the same player making the same mistake. Anyone can make the slightest error and it costs the entire fight, wasting time wiping, teleporting and preparing to try again. I've had so many players get discouraged and leave the party, and while I feel like I'll never complete it, I still try anyway because I'm determined to complete the event and prove my skill with the prizes.
Before anyone responds with the typical "get good", I've spent enough time on this dungeon to learn everything. As I said, it's one little error that costs it all.
My second rant is the player base. While I may be determined to complete it, I can't even find or form a group. The first three days after the dungeon's release the LFG was full of players attempting to conquer the dungeon. Four days later, nobody has any interest. Are players discouraged and have decided to no longer waste time on the event? Probably. There are also players who form groups who will complete the dungeon daily and won't give other players a chance.
This event that should bring players together actually splits them apart into two groups, those who stay together and those who try and give up. Removing resurrection or having a limit on it is a good challenge, but not when everything can kill you in 1-2 hits. Although I'd mostly like if the 'good' players would run the dungeon with everyone. I'd really like to complete the event for the rewards, but not being able to do that because the community wouldn't help feels terrible.
