If I understand this correctly you can destroy old cosmetics for costume tokens and then use them to get boxes for other cosmetics.
Where do you get these tokens? Cant seem to find the way to do this. o_O

They had to be tradeable to begin with, so all cash shop ones.
BUT... seems a whole bunch got bugged and while they were supposed to be dismantable, they are not right now... hopefully they fix this soon.

This is the classic "good idea" turned into a dumb one.
What, you have costumes that you're tired of but you don't want throw away either? well you can dismantle em and get new ones!.... oh wait, you can only dismantle trade-able ones, you known, the ones you could already TRADE for gold or other costumes(I did traded a costume for another one just a couple of weeks ago), so yeah, all those old soulbound costumes aren't going anywhere.
Next patch maybe they'll introduce a restriction on discarding items: you can only discard old items like soulbound costumes if you purchase some voucher with real money from the shop, or something like that... seriously, this game gets worse and worse with every patch, it's almost tragicomic to see how bad it can get.

No, it's costumes that were tradeable before soulbinding them. That means that even if now they're soulbund, you should be able to dismantle them. The fact that it doesn't work as of now is not intended, and they're gonna fix it

This is not correct.
I already tried this and dismanted many soulbound "Skins" for the tokens.
