My luck is just amazing.

  • 3 days from now the Classic Server will be updated to patch 80, and any equipment you have currently equipped it will upgraded to a certail lv.65 one.

I have a full T15 PvP set that will be converted in Stormcry +0, but only if it's equpped, I currently have it in bank as I use another set for PvE stuff.

My PC decided to die on me today.

So basically, if I don't get it back up in 3 days I cannot get my "free" stormcry set, isn't my luck just amazing?

I'll be sending my PC to assitance tomorrow - but if anyone knonws a possible solution to this problem would spare me the hassle, and have my gratitude of course.

My PC in theory, works, when I turn it on it starts and load everything - only it doesn't detect any monitor - which stays black the whole time (with the power light flashing on and off like the PC is turned off), I tried to connect my monitor to my motherboard port instead of my video card - nothing, apparently that port should be enabled in the BIOS - which I cannot access since I can't see anything with my monitor not connecting - I tried to connect my laptop who lags even if you play minisweeper on it - to my monitor and it works just fine - I tried to buy a new monitor cable - nothing.

I have tried to connect my PC to my TV via an HDMI cable - nothing, no signal.

I can still access my PC via Team viewer - everything works, except that I cannot play any game, including Tera, due to some technical limitations with the PC itself (basically, if it doesn't detect any monitor it doesn't even bother rendering any 3D stuff or whatever, so without a monitor it won't launch Tera or any other game I tried).

My video card has 3 different ports - HDMI - DVI and another one which I forgot the name, I was thinking if it could be possible to try another port - but I would need an adapter for that, and at this point I don't think it will work.

Via team viewer I've also checked my current devices detected, it doesn't report any problem with the video card, which appears normally among the other devices, it simply doesn't detect any monitor.

    Ah, my luck....

  • Update: I managed to magically run Tera on my super low spec laptop, and with an amazing 5 fps average I equipped the gear ready for march 28, phew, I'm honestly surprised, last time I tried to run Tera on this coal - powered laptop it got so hot I could boil an egg on it (good thing it shut itself down before getting overheat damage).

Well at least one problem is solved, my main PC is still pretty much unusable right now, but I hope PC repair shop-thing won't take weeks to fix it.

I'm so relieved right now oh oh oh ~ .... damn I changed my whole PC just 3 months ago and I already have to send it to repair X(

You might not want to talk about account sharing in public.

I didn't meant to share my account, my idea was to borrow a certain someone's PC.

  • Update:

I've just been contacted by the PC assistance store and guess what - my Video card is gone for good - it still works, except none of the output ports works, so it's pretty much useless.

It was a 1050ti worth alone almost 200€.... bought just 3 months ago, isn't my luck just amazing? I've been on a GTX 650 for over 5 years and I thought I was finally out of the low FPS area, and now it's already gone....sigh.

  • Yeah I first contacted the shop and they said to contact MSI instead, I had a phone call with MSI assistance this morning and they told me it's the vendor who should deal with the warranty thing, so now I'm back waiting a response from the vendor... the PC was a pre-assembled one, a MSI Codex 3.

  • So in the end the vendor and MSI refused to change the video card since I bought the PC already pre-assembled.

The only option to was to send the ENTIRE PC for warranty, but even that option is out since you can't open a PC for 1-2 years depending on the warranty, that means, you cannot install anything on it, you cannot clean the dust out of it, anything that requires you to open the case nulls the warranty, it's so dumb, it's like buying a car but you cannot open it's hood for years otherwise warranty is null and void.

Never buy an assembled PC, it's a scam, buy individual components instead.

  • It's a scam because it costs more than buying them separately.

If you buy from a proper retailer like Amazon you won't have to deal with crap customer support sending you back and forth as you experienced.

My video card randomly crashed with artifacts on screen a couple years ago, and since I didn't want to wait for warranty replacement I bought another one and then after I installed that one, I sent this one back (so I had no downtime). I explained it to them and they gave me my money back when they received it, including shipping fees.

On the other hand my experience with local retailers is eh... raging at a guy because he wouldn't understand that the stupid motherboard won't boot at all (not even POST) wasting half an hour till he acknowledged it.

    But suit yourself.
