Lag lag and more lag. Event server is the definition of LAG

  • i cant stand this anymore

honestly who the did u hire as the tech guy because it seems like hes about his meritsmaybe u dont even have a tech guy and just go with some cheap ass chinese service that does all the technological for u for 2 euros a month

i know im going to get a "-snip- cleaned up by moderator here ^ _ ^ " but im just speaking my mind now because its getting ridiculous how this is

300 ms in arena but you mods and community managers or whatever shitty titles you have probably dont care or know what that means to someone who actually plays the game

i would wonder if any one who ever worked at gameforge even has touched an online game and played with lag and thought "hey this is ok" but i remember doing that in 2012-2014 and the conclusion is the same

nightlag took you fools years to fix so i have no expectations that any kind of improvements on the servers will be made not to mention any expectations whatsoever from anymore

nothing but cash-grabby big nosed goblins

i was wrong to think that this event would actually be a nice experience because at the end of the day its run by gameforge so it really cant get worse.. and no it cant even get better bceause its the bottom and you never seem to improve or its at a remarkably slow rate.

ive seen private servers for tera that have x10 better servers and ping now tell me how that is possible... some guy running tera serrvers as a hobby has better servers than a big company

maybe gameforge just dont care huh its really not hard to imagine

im mad atm so take this with a grain of salt

  • This is impossible to play.

Ping constantly jumping between 100 and 250 atm.

Constant 60ms to any other internet service, including normal TERA servers!!

How dafuq do I have 60-70ms on Mystel and 250 on classic!?

This is a fcking shame really. People been complaining about it since the start and it only got worse.

Been playing with 120ms since first day of classic. Its double of what I have on Mystel, but you know what, it's playable so I didnt mind it much. But fcking 250!? You gotta be kidding, how are we even supposed to play with this amount of lag?

And of course, we have 0 replies from the people responsible lol

I don't know if I made myself clear, so I'll say it again. PING. OF. 250MS.

Do you have any fcking clue how high of a number that is? Classic is fcking unplayable right now!

    FIX YOUR SERVERS

  • Came here to say the problem has been getting worse and worse. At first spikes weren't super horrible, usually around 150 and in very rare cases 200 but it didn't feel like it happened so frequently (until after 2 am when it gets unbearable!) but today morning I decided to do an mch and holy shit, every single jaunt I did rubberbanded without exceptions.
The servers now feel like they're constantly stuck in the post 2 am state when they'd usually start dying, pretty horrible imo.

  • Thread moved into a more appropriate section.

If something has to be announced, it's gonna be announced as soon as possible.

  • Tried both Mystel and Killian myself, no crazy lag spikes there, stable ping around 50, bit lower or higher at the time when testing.

Visionmaker, yeah...it's very bad. I see constant spikes from the usual 50-60 ping into 170-250, these happen in openworld, Ghilliglade, Alliance Vault, Alliance zone, smaller solo instances (Balder 1 person and Malachai's lab as an example). For me, it haven't hit on Battlegrounds as hard (THANK GOD, because I like PvP), but it is there, just not as crazy high, but that's for me. I haven't been in 5 person PvE instance in a while, but last time I ran one, it had some spikes, around 120-140.

I have done EVERYTHING in my power to try solve if the problem is on my end to be absolutely sure before I start looking elsewhere. I've changed my router four times, checked cables, re-installed Windows, re-installed TERA, checked ports, switched between 4G connection and ASDL etc. I'm sure you get it.

I did called my ISP too and asked if there's something wrong with the connection or the route to the server. They did tests with my connection AND their own connection, turned out BOTH mine and their connection got the same ping spike. Ok so, this is pretty odd and for my good fortune, the guy who answered my call is a gamer too so he understood why I was bit frustrated. After work, he went to his home and tried the same, yes, again the ping spike. This confirmed the problem wasn't on the ISP, it's the server.

And this same, similar problem, has happened in past on other publishers too, namely, ArenaNet and Grinding Gear Games.

I have played Guild Wars 2 about 3 months in past and I stopped, because their servers began to have the same ping problem after a month or so. Turned out, when ArenaNet bought servers from Amazon, they messed up and about 30% of their players got this ping spike problem when connecting on certain servers (You could see the server IP with a command typed in chat if you got curious which server you were on). On my case, the problem didn't disappeared and since ArenaNet didn't owned the servers anymore, all they could do was ask Amazon to try fix it, which took forever to get on a reasonable level.

On Grinding Gear Games, they actually know their servers and the problem was quickly brought up by community (Like it's brought up in here). Turned out, some ports of several servers had trouble to work correctly and that's what lead into crazy ping spikes (Anything from low 200 into high 1000 and sometimes, getting disconnected). They did fixed the issue in matter of a month, which is not the fastest, but they kept giving information to their community of what's going on. (They also gave extra goodies, nothing big but it was as sign of good will and appreciation to the community supporting them through the issues).

This problem we have now is very, very similar to the ones I brought up on this post and gave two examples. It would be nice to get some information out for us, your players/customers, to give a reason to stay and keep playing. Saying "If something has to be announced, it's gonna be announced as soon as possible." isn't strike as convincing way to communicate with the community.

I'm not an expert, but we got told you forwarded the issue, wouldn't the next logical step be telling something similar into "We're working on the matter and will test a solution this week" or "Isolating the issue has proven difficult, but we're still searching the answer." <- These are just couple examples and would give us something rather than nothing.

  • So... Thread moved in this dead section. Ty Zancara.

I didnt know that ping spikes are bugs until today. I just thought it were gameforge garbage servers.

I have a tipp, move your support and manager team also in this section, cause the way you guys act feels like a huge bug!

  • Zancara this is not a bug lol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_bug

Lag is not a bug, or is this some kind of sad attempt at sweeping the issue under the carpet by saying it's just out of your hands and it's the developers fault?

But what do you expect from some company who don't even know the basics.

I''m just glad I didn't buy any TT, this event let alone gameforge sure doesn't deserve my money.

Here's something for you to read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lag maybe you will learn something about the industry you work in and do a better job.

While you're at it tell your co-workers to read up on it too.
