Lag lag and more lag. Event server is the definition of LAG

  • Skyring solo q: I talked to 4 people on video (5 including me) and all have ping spikes on the 200+- zone.


    On the other hand the dungeon such as temple of temetity which you can literally faceroll before level 60 ping is 30-50.


    BUT WHEN I GO OUT OF THIS FREAKING TELEPORTAL ON OPEN WORLD ON SAME VIDEO

    PING SUDDENLY MAGICALLY INCREASES IN A NEARLY EMPTY AREA...

    BUT WHEN I GET IN THE DUNGEON PING MAFICALLY FIX (very relevant dungeon btw. A LV 50 DUNGEON MUST BE MORE RELEVANT THAN SKYRING...:lol:)

    -On kumasyleum I have no issue whatsoever. Ping is super similar to killian 37-49.

    -Corsair's was similar before Tuesday maintenance, but after maintenance it has minor spikes and averages a bit above kumasyleum.

    -Shirjuka gallery seems a bit laggy but who cares is easy.


    CONTACTED support. As usual support is useless. I sent them winmtr traceroutes although there are 17 untraceable AFTER their server's ip.

    Always will investigate things. Like you aren't already aware of the problem? The people not being able to log in, the crashes from sg and the constant lag fiasco are no coincidence.


    It is literally annoying. I go killian ping low and stable. I go play overwatch ping low and stable. I go play every game besides this GARBAGE SERVER ping low and stable.

    I don't know how exactly servers works and why open world lags and some instances. Maybe some knowledgeable people could shed some light.

    But facts are facts. IT LAGS. How can you even play on this server like this. Why is no one complaining? I wasted literally a ton of time leveling up and gathering glyphs just to do skyring. But I would rather not play if like this.

    I am sure not all have same problems but most I talked say they do.


    SUGGESTION:

    At least make BATTLEGROUNDS and END game 60 instances be normal if you cannot fix all.


    PLEASE, IF YOU EXPERIENCE SIMILAR ISSUES PLEASE POST THEM ON THIS THREAD.

    PERSONALLY I WILL LOG ONLY TO DO KUMASYLEUM UNTIL YOU DECIDE TO FIX SKYRING LAG WHICH PARTICULARLY IS THE REASON I WASTED HOURS ON THIS SERVER.

  • Instances and open world are usually different servers, hence you can't inspect people when you're in them.


    I do agree the lag can get unbearable, even in instances after 2 am I start having 200 ping spikes, had to cancel a run because of it lmao

  • My "hypothesis" is that they didn't expect many players to join this event server, so they loaded it into some old 10+ years old server machine and that's it.

  • Nothing to worry about, then. Overall population will soon be lower than what they had initially expected. I already know of some people who uninstalled and are currently charging back the money they bought TC with :)

    Everyones ping spikes from 24-300ms all day long, it is nostalgic yes but it's not even close to enjoyable because noone can even play properly

    It still buffles me how you managed to make it THIS instable, holy shit

    upgrade the servers or fix the lag

    just run one of your nab 35% more TT and there's the funds for it

    people get more TT, we get better servers, you get paid and praise

    its a win-win

  • This is just unplayable.
    I have ping that changes from 20 ms up to 300ms ??? wtf is this. The ping on this server is the most unstable thing i have ever seen.
    please fix this if u care about ur players. This is a serious problem.

    Reminder to upgrade the servers and permanent oldschool TERA.

    Look what Jagex did, they fucked up with RuneScape and reverted to make a oldschool version which has x100 the playerbase

    No shame in doing it.

  • Fix your classic Server, cant be that you only have goood ping for 3 hours per day????
    Are u downgrading them overnight or what? Its always good at mid of the day but then starts getting worse n worse.
    Unplayable and probly gonna quit if this isnt fixxed anytime soon. Read your god damn forums, give us a respond, do something, its ur job.
    It feels like u dont even read the forums and ignore the community totally. Make the servers good maybe more people will stay then.
    If u do nothing it just confirms all the prejudices that are against gameforge. Do something that makes the community happy for once.....

    it's just really forking frustrating having you take your community so easily not granting any wishes

    and if you by any chance happen to give us anything you will do so halfheartedly

    everyone knows tera isn't the most popular mmo by far

    so how hard is it to make an event server (that you only make happen to earn more players for your live servers) work as intended??

    this was by far the worst mmo experience i've had in a long while and i'm not going to touch it until you decide to do something about it

    i know it's sort of pathetic still expecting you to do anything and honestly i feel pathetic doing so

    but why cant you let your community enjoy something for once without forking it up

  • There are times where I got pretty much constantly 200+ms ping but if I switch to "current" Tera my ping magically fixed to a much more playable 50ish ping... it's almost like Gameforge is trying to sabotage it's own event server so it can say "Since not many players are playing we'll not plan to make a permanent version of this ever" when it's their own fault why many players are driven away from this buggy server...

  • I think theres lag from one of the internet backbone servers because alot of my friends are having massive spike issues while residing in EU but it's completely fine for me. I suggest people to report them on the forum so Gameforge can investigate it.

  • Alot of my friends are having ping spikes issues and we can't clear dungeons and need to take break until it clears up. I noticed that theres a huge ping spike occurring for me too on the last node before it reaches the game server. not that bad for me because i already have naturally low ping but for my friends that are further away it's a big issue for them because they can't walk or dc and they reported spikes of 1k.


    As you can see here I did a tracert to the gameforge server, one to the webserver and one to the gameserver. Though it's normal for the game server to not reach the end as they blocked ping request.


    Both use the same routing and the ip of the last node before it reaches the end is owned by gameforge and both different.

    You can see clearly it's lagging before it reaches the server and naturally for high ping players to be more severe and my ping is also higher in game than the webserver by 5-10ms not that it matters much.

    This is worthy of investigating as it's clearly the lag is not caused by the routing itself.

  • The vl17 node would always spike for me even when actually the game had no lags. For example this is when I was playing from Greece 1 year ago


    and game was normal. That node would always spike although the in game jitter would be 15. So for one mysterious reason it wouldn't show actual results. It was last month where it actually would start showing normal ms around the in game latency. But I have done multiple tests on Killian and Visionmaker and even tested on a vpn server close to frankfurt and is clearly apparent GF is at fault. There is no doubt about it. I have even videos while running winmtr same time. Just next time you run winmtr make sure you run around 100 packets or so.

    and ips were provided by support. As you can see they look same. No problem on my net (I made sure I tested with noone using) and they have same results. Ofc there are 17 hops which post GF server (masked or so) which noone knows wtf is going on them.


    Killian would be perfectly normal while visionmaker would look like running in a toaster.

  • Well the issues were obvious since day 1, but people didn't seem to bother focusing on them. Maybe the excitement from the nostalgia of the old server or maybe the very fact that they got trapped by the fake loot that GF promised diverting their attention from this problem. This server is a meme server and hopefully it has become apparent for many of you that they didn't want it to succeed since the very beginning.


    Back on topic: I always run winmtr when checking for latency issues and all things point to GF. But you don't need brain to realise this when on one hand on one instance or open world ping goes all over and on another seems better. Also if I log on killian (or go play OW) I have perfectly normal ping,,,

    Even instances that had normal latency now don't. Example kumasyleum was fine for me but now spikes as well. Skyring is unpredictable has 37-160 ms and just 50 mins later (day time ) to start going to 250 ms. And cs has small spikes as well. Haven't checked dungeons for long. Open world is a lag fiesta. Support has been notified since the 20th of Feb or so. The server overall looks like the server we played in past where abscess hard would have 200-350 ms and open world would spike. Which was fixed on schm patch. They just don't care.

  • I checked with 1000 packets now and that node always has ping spikes true but I never have 150-200 ping spikes to the webserver but in game I do get ping spikes to 200 in game occasionally on mystel. With winMTR I see that I don't see any spikes only starting from vl12 node. Today we can't run anything with my static because they have ping spikes that makes them dc because they're not so close to the server. I hope they can solve this issue or it will become like EME routing fiasco.
